Terrence Howard is one of the best actors on this damn planet. The way Melissa held her own in scenes with him. Even sometimes eating him all the way uuuuuupppp! Give sis her flowers. She shined right next to him and never once stepped in his shadow. Their chemistry is so amazing. Beautiful work!!!!!!!!

Nothing beats the original first “The Best Man” movie, however, it’s always great seeing such a talented black cast coming back together to close out the story. I enjoyed the series though I think a movie, as opposed to a series, would’ve been a better choice as some parts of the story line were unwarranted. Nonetheless, I love the chemistry the cast had with each other but the chemistry between Terrance and Melissa was a force to be reckoned with. It’s even more evident in this interview! I love it!❤
I felt the son’s storyline monopolized the series a bit taking away from the main characters. It was almost like he had too much of his own storyline - less about Lance and more about him.
I disagree. I was glad to see them for 8 chapters vs a 90 minute movie.

Their characters are definitely the MOST solid and grounded of all of the Best Man movie/show characters ironically with their "obvious imperfections". I didn't like that she didn't tell that man or her child who her dad was. I don't like stuff like that but they were solid overall.
It's so good because we've always seen ourselves in these characters. With our family or circle of friends we grew up watching them so as we grew the characters grew.

The Best Man movies are mediocre at best, so any hype about them being a " classic ", or worthy of praise is simply promotion by people with a vested interest. They compare with great films like The Color Purple, or Raisin In the Sun like a Toyota compares to a Rolls Royce from a quality perspective.
I disagree. I watched both movies for the first time yesterday and I loved the pacing, the tight writing and Complex relationships.
