    "I have resist magicka as an orc!"
    Fun fact, Resistance to Pure Magicka is near useless because of how weird Morrowind calculates magic damage. Technically elemental damage (fireball, frost touch) is resisted by resist fire/frost/etc. But **Damage Health** is resisted by resist magicka. So as an prc you take full damage from that shock spell. It didn't work like this in daggerfall or Oblivion onwards. Weird

    • @MaxPower-ke5rq
      @MaxPower-ke5rq Před 3 lety +39

      Well I wouldn't say it's near useless, it does give resistance to negative effects of spells too, like blind

    • @XDarkStrikerX
      @XDarkStrikerX Před 3 lety +44

      Real utility early on is for using the boots of blinding speed without being blinded, you'll also completely avoid reflected absorb health, weakness to elements (you'll completely resist weakness to magicka as well at 100% as it is a magic effect) and those annoying damage attribute spells. If you absolutely love absorb health + weakness to magicka spells/enchantment like i do, you'll want 100% resistance to magicka if you don't want to 1 shot yourself fighting a daedra. For overall magic damage resistance, spell absorption and reflect are usually better as well as high restore health enchantment on multiple pieces of gear. I'd say it's the better resistance out of all of them as it protect from much more than simple magic damage. If you want to use Weakness + Element, you'll also need resist magicka as the Weakness might be reflected to you and you'll damage yourself with your next reflected hit.

    • @_TheGoob
      @_TheGoob Před 3 lety +2

      I don't think this is true.
      If you have 50% magic resistance in morrowind you have a 50% chance of resisting harmful spells. So if someone hits you with a fireball you only get hit half the time.

    • @brohvakiindova4452
      @brohvakiindova4452 Před 3 lety +5

      @@XDarkStrikerX playing a full mage in morrowind is curse and blessing, curse because spell reflection will absolutely wreck you (especially if you picked magic weakness for extra magicka) and blessing because you can one shot pretty much everything and use insanely powerful buffs
      I really didn't quite enjoy it as much as I thought it would be... enchanting your own stuff is not as rewarding as one would think, yes you can get some super OP instant cast effects but I wanted to have a nice variety of useful constant effect things and except for a stamina regen and other more utility like enchants like feather 1pt or jump and water walking etc. you're almost always better off hunting unique items like mentors ring, saviors hide etc.
      I also don't like the idea of 100% spell absorption/reflect etc. and reflection is only fun on paper in general imo
      I'd like a constant effect magicka restore in a balanced fashion and some constant effects shouldn't be so ridiculously expensive (soul wise) guess I need to mod my next attempt at morrowind

    • @brohvakiindova4452
      @brohvakiindova4452 Před 3 lety +22

      @@_TheGoob nope: fire, frost, shock, poison and paralyze are all excempt from resist magicka effects plus it's not a 50% chance to ignore all damage but a 50% reduction of magnitude or simply put 50% less damage
      this works the same for the corresponding resist fire: it reduces all incoming fire damage by 50%
      spell absorption and spell reflection is what would have a 50% chance to either absorb or reflect any incoming spell (absorption can even absorb your own, positive spells)

    The 100% easiest way to do this quest is to also have the official fletcher mod installed too, then buy all the area of effect arrows you can. When you MISS on purpose and hit the ground with these arrows the spell still fires. In fact hitting the target and rolling a miss will NOT cause the spell to fire, so its almost better to aim at the floor like its a missile launcher.
    The spell when cast is treated as a trap, so the enemy can not reflect that damage back to you. The skeleton lich has reflect, so this is a really easy way to dps him without risk of backfire.

In addition to the frost resistance they have in other installments, they also get shock resistance.
