    When my mom was pregnant with me I was breached and her doctor said don’t worry I will try my best to manually put her head down and he did, my mom said it took her breath away but she ended up having a vaginal birth bcus of him. I’m pregnant now and that same doctor that delivered me when my mom was pregnant will now deliver my baby 24 years later 🙏🏼🤰🏻

    1) control your weight 2:54
    2) have continuous labor support present 4:24
    3) labor at home - wait to go to the hospital 5:04 (early labor happens at home, as long as it's safe according to your healthcare provider. take a childbirth class to understand what you can do at home.)
    4) move around - change positions frequently 6:20
    5) induce at 41 weeks 7:52
    6) intermittent monitoring 9:19
    7) ask for more time - wait 10:05
    8) give some pushback if you're not 6cm - 11:03
    9) push your little heart out - don't hold back 11:47 (if you push more than 3h, chances are only 1 in 4 women will deliver vaginally)
    knowledge is power - have this convo with your doctor (needing a c section when baby is "big") 13:25
    Bonus: Ask about and pursue an external cepalic version (breech babies) 15:17
    Bonus: Find a provider that delivers vaginal twins 15:33
    10) trust in your body let go 15:46

I felt the pressure and I asked them why do I need a C section and they couldn’t give me any clear explanation other than that my daughter was a having a heart problems and her weight was dropping below the average babies which was a big lie because she came out perfectly healthy baby girl I will never forget the experience plus I got the flu while I was at the hospital I had my flu shot at my 36 week appointment.

      @@qaaliquruxmedia heart problems or drop in heart rate I think is actually a legitimate reason for a C section if the vaginal birth isn't progressing quickly as that indicates stress on the baby and possible complications if you are to wait to deliver vaginally. I'm against C sections, but they have their time and place. And you can walk out of the hospital really, you cannot be held at the hospital against your will unless youre deemed mentally incapable of making that sort of decision or you pose a threat to yourself or others or of course you're a minor. I wouldn't recommend walking out of the hospital though, I would trust the doctors opinion so long as they can explain themselves.

With both of my labors (2015, 2019), my water broke very early on so I was in the hospital for hours, but labor was pretty slow and manageable up until the last couple hours. The baby’s head and shoulder were stuck low and he was face up. In getting him out an artery was ruptured. Went back into surgery and had a blood transfusion and was transferred to a larger hospital. I wish I’d found you when I was pregnant but this video was still so interesting to me. I did not have a c-section but a friend of mine recently did because her baby was “big” (9 lb 6 ozs) and her dr kind of scared her into it by telling her the baby had a 25% chance of getting stuck and they would have to push him back in and then do the c-section. My doctor, on the other hand, was ALL about avoiding a c-section and I was able to have a vaginal delivery with a 9 lb 3 oz baby. I am so glad, after watching this, that my doctor was actually my biggest advocate for avoiding a c-section and actually hadn’t even mentioned that my daughter was on the bigger side so I didn’t really have any worries at all about that while I was in labor.

  • @user-ww1qb6td1u
    @user-ww1qb6td1u Před 4 lety +4

    I had a C-section with my last child, and my OBGYN told me that I'd HAD to have another one now that I'm pregnant again. She scared me by telling me that I was at risk for uterine rupture, and I couldn't sleep for days. I kept picturing my baby moving inside, and every time I thought I was about to bleed to death. I was terrified. I was so overwhelmed with fear, that I was seriously considering an abortion. Doctors need to stop forcing C-sections just to avoid overlapping patients. My last C-section was performed by a doctor who ran out of the delivery room BEFORE he stitched me up. He left an INTERN there to finish his job. People have trust issues with doctors for this very reason. Most, if not all of them seem to get into the field just for the paycheck. I haven't found a decent one yet.

    • @albatraozgirl
      @albatraozgirl Před 4 lety +1

      Uterine rupture is so extremely unlikely. Stick to your guns and go for a VBAC. These doctors don't look at the statistics. I've done so much research because I'm doing VBAC and don't have the support of my current prenatal care provider. They want to cover their own butt and not give you a trial of labor. It isn't whats best for you or baby. Don't let anyone tell you to do something you don't want to. Get a doula or find support online and change providers.

With her first she pushed for 3hrs and delivered her 9lb 3oz daughter vaginally without tearing or an episiotomy. Then with her second she also pushed for 3 hours and delivered a 9lb 2oz baby boy vaginally without tearing or an episiotomy. It may take a while to get a larger baby out but it can happen. Thanks for this video. Must mention that if you test positive for gerd bacteria and your water has broken, you have about 24 hours to deliver. If you are not dilating, you will end up with a uterine infection which causes risk to the baby. So, you don’t always have all the time in the world to wait for 6 cm cervical dilation. I say this from experience. I have had a c section and am doing my best to have a vbac in a few months. Overall - great video...thank you for taking the time to educate us.

    • @azzula729
      @azzula729 Před 5 lety +2

      Why are you scared of a c section? It's actualy very simple and straightforward. I went for an induction after a perfect pregnancy and while I was sitting there (literally nothing had happend I was waiting for sombody to canulate me) I was on the monitor and had been for over an hour. Suddenly her heart rate droped, they broke my water (through a closed cirvix ouch! ) it was clear at first but near the end went brownish as she had been so distressed she pooed. But by that time i was already been rushed into surgery, she came out blue, limp, not breathing as the cord had been very tight around her neck. Haveing a c section saved her life and it was super easy and quick. Now I still agree that a vaginal birth is the goal, but if you need one then you need one and they arnt as Scarey as they sound. 😊

    I called the hospital and told them my water broke. They told me to come in right away because i'd had a previous c-section. I told them i'd like to wait to labor at home and they said no, to come in. I went in at 7:40 am and they put me on pitocin by 11:30 am, telling me it'll help speed things along. I had originally said no because I wanted to have vbac and I heard it wasn't good to go that route. They assured me it would be best and because my water broke and they kept checking me they thought I could end up getting an infection....to make a long story short pitocin did not work and only dilated me to a 3 but I was in lots of pain for 5 hours so had to get an epidural. With the epidural I was still having pain....baby ended up coming off monitor 3 times and nurses rushed in 3 different times to flip me over onto all fours to try and find him again which ended the last time in them rushing me into c-section area while i was on my hands and knees, because they thought they were going to have to do emergency c-section... they ended up finding him but suggested strongly that I should get a c-section because pitocin was putting baby into stress and my body wouldn't dilate on it's own. So, I gave in and got a c-section...i was so scared. I'd like to ask you, do you think this could've been avoided if I labored at home and avoided pitocin and epidural? I am so upset because I don't really know what happened. It was a blur. I remember the Dr. grunting so loud pulling him out...and yelling "I'm not going to stop pulling!" and pushing on my abdomen..I couldn't breathe. Then the lady on the left behind the curtain saying "oh, that's terrible!" I don't know what she was talking about. Later they told me my scar tissue was really bad from previous c-section and that if I ever have another child I should have a planned c-section because in an emergency c-section situation it wouldn't be good for them to cut through all that scar tissue. I know this is super long and I'm considering getting my medical record/notes just so I can understand better what went on in my body. It still is stressful thinking about it. But I have a 9 lb 8 oz healthy boy and he's 6 days old today. So thankful! I'd appreciate any feedback from you.
