- Hi everyone, thank you so much for taking a ride along with me to my friend Matt, toy and train hobby shop. He got a huge KATO Nscale collection with much more even HO scale all for sale. Thanks for watching.  if you’re interested my friend Matt is here in Gridley California that is beautiful town in northern California. He’s open Wednesday through Sunday, but you must call because he attends all the local train shows.

I am completely amazed. The stores close to me focus more on HO. And since I have recently getting into model railroading. I decided to start with N scale instead of HO. So watching this video with lots of N scale things, especially some N scale steam locomotives makes me very happy. And realizing that this store is only 1 hour away from me. I am most definitely going to be first calling up Matt through the store phone. And I will definitely be taking a trip up to Gridly soon. I would like to thank you for making a video of this store, and bringing onto CZcams this awesome find.

Wow what a collection. That box of Santa Fe streamline diesel A and B units!! I would be interested in that FEF #838 as I'm sure you would have guessed haha. Also that el Capitan set is cool too. Those were the very first double decker cars (I think).

I'm fortunate to live within a two hour drive to Gridley. Matt always hat plenty of goodies to pursue in his shop and his prices are unbeatable. Here are the store hours at Packratt:

Noon - 5:00 PM
Sat
11:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Always call ahead because he sometimes shutters the store in order to sell at various train shows so sometimes the store is closed when he's out on the road.

Hey thank you for showing us the trains on the inside of a Hobby Shop I assume it's in California just correct me if I m wrong I was very Happy to see the N scale trains you looked at I just wished could show more N scale Trains That's the Scale I m in and that's N scale I have been in that scale for 45 years and I m a N scale train collector I have a total of 125 locomotives and I have just over 5000 train cars the rail lines I have mostly are these Railroads they are CSX and L and N. ICG SCL Family Lines Systems Clinchfield Seaboard Systems Chessie Systems and Southern Pacific SSW DRGW Santa Fe BN SLSF KCS MP Southern CRIP WP BNSF C and O. B and O and WM RFP and Milwaukee CNW GTW CN. CP Rail and there is others to name a few more that tells what I have in N scale trains and thank you once again for the video that you showed us

Dude!! Awesome shop! I can’t believe that Kato stash! Incredible! I have two Kato GG-1’s, one Tuscan Red and one Brunswick green. I pieced together a PRR passenger set years ago, as at the time couldn’t find the full set. I’m East Coast near Philly, but love all the West Coast locos just as much! Those Zephyr sets are beautiful! Really cool stuff there! Thank you so much for sharing Sean! ❤️🚃🚂😎

Yeah, both of those locomotives would be awesome to have. I guess the Santa Fe gold nose those are a rare locomotive. I had no idea and the PRR GG1 that is one beautiful locomotive that would be nice to have with the whole passenger set but dang, I can’t have everything I wish I could. Crazy For feeling Blue 😰 what awesome collection.. Shawn I'm hopping for the SP special Caboose those Amtrak Superliner cars I've been hoping that Kato would re-run these cars I had a set of Superliners that we're a few before or after the sets you showed I had both Kato sets but with my El Capitan's & a few other I had to Pawn then something I don't take likely but it met food on the table at that time i wasn't able to catch up the interest payments & they we're sold that was when my mom was in the Hospital she had a stroke in Feb on my Dads Birthday in May the, the May stroke was a pretty significant one she had Blood Clot that went up in her Brain she recovered but it was a hurtful process for my mom to go through she was put on Medication to help her an it did but the constant measures with Adema in her legs & Afib in her heart they both contributed to Mom's passing..
I miss her Everyday sometimes the hurt goes away with running my Trains but its still there..
But Videos like yours Shawn it helps Allot take care Brother hope to see more new Videos..

In Japan / Tokyo there’s a lot of N scale shops one called Popondetta Akihabara is pretty much 4 floors of N Scale

Wow, looking at some of those prices I wonder how he's making any money! Also had to look up how long of a drive it was from San Francisco to Gridley, think I've only been there once in my life a good 25 years ago or so. Probably good for my bank account that I'm not that close.

I'm new to the world of model railroading on any scale. I've been watching a lot of videos and asking myself why people are using a pointer to uncouple the cars from each other manually? Do any of the railroad scales have automatic uncoupler tracks? If so, which ones are they?
Welcome to the hobby and excellent comment I use KATO track and actually you can buy little sections of track with a magnet which automatically if you go in reverse and back forward it uncoupled, but a lot of people use the little sticks. It’s more convenient when they’re doing full-size operations. Atlas and Kato our great companies that make un couplers. Thank you for your comment. Thanks for watching.👍

They had a Penn Central all in black and I think what Amtrak did was paint over the Penn Central and just put Amtrak
