This is a detailed unboxing, installation and performance review of the Ultrasonic and LED under-hood car and truck rodent repeller. I ran into some quality issues with the power connector to the unit and later swapped it out for another unit and connector pair (much better). I demo that problem and also show you operation with a trickle charger attached to the battery.

Thought this was supposed to be mounted vertically and not facing up/ down and leave at least 7 to 8inch gap

is it okay that leave it on in the battery? is the battery will not get low if you leave it on?

If you drive the vehicle every few days it will be ok.

Defiantly a quality problem, it can stay in the pet shop that has that Chinese takeaway behind it and it's not under my hood... ;)

@thurm101 yes, the second unit I ordered was trouble free and I was extra careful about checking the connectors before plugging them into the unit. I was just outside tonight and could see the LEDs flashing under the hood. I never hear the ultrasonic sound with the hood closed, but I'm sure a mouse would if he's up in there. Also - no other mice issues since this install... but note that I also sprayed some peppermint spray all around the wiring in the engine bay.
Only a couple people have noticed the LED's flashing at night, it's funny though when they ask me about it and what it's for.

Yes, I have not had any problems since the install, no mice!
