The first time i ever saw or even heard of a narrow boat was about three years ago when i came across one of your videos, and i got hooked ,i never knew of the existence of these beautiful boats like yours ,and the lovely countryside that i get to see through the eyes of the country house gent, since then i have followed all your videos on You Tube and i must say that i have never been disappointed, seeing the canals ,locks,wide beams,peoples and so on, i have looked at videos by other boaters that were pretty good,but yours was always a cut or two above the rest,very unique, i was angry and sorry about that terrible incident you went through,they will meet theirs,stay strong and stay true,God bless!

I have come to the conclusion, at the ripe old age of 55yrs, that I mostly don't like "people" very much either .... I find that, no matter what hobby, or interest, or way of life you're involved in, there are those who like to interfere, bully, or take advantage .... Can't wait to see you on the Lancaster Canal Kevin! I live a stones throw from it about halfway along its length. Our family used to have a small narrowboat hire firm on there so if you need any info about the Lancaster, let me know.. 42 miles with no locks. Bliss! Nice and safe too..
One more thing.. When you go through Garstang, go to Hamlet's butchers (edge of the town centre - just 200 yards from Kepple lane bridge 62) and ask for one of their pork pies - preferably one thats still warm. It will change your life. 👍🏼
Garstang and Lancaster are towns I know well and looking forward to being reacquainted with that part of Lancashire. Kayaking on the Lancaster was a particular favorite. Old time sailors would drag their laundry behind the boat for a few hours, then rinse in fresh water and hang on halyards. Don’t know if this would work in fresh water canals.

Ahh the Lancaster; the canal of my childhood memories. (Looked like hell back then of course but it's much rejuvenated now ;-) ) I look forward to watching it on Prime. In fact I just bought a 4k smart TV to watch it on so try not to skimp on the resolution Kevin. :-)
This is where I'm hoping to start my boat life in the near future! Hopefully making this my home marina and plodding up and down the canal during holidays. I've walked that towpath in all weather and all seasons and had lunch in that café many a time. I highly recommend the lasagna! It's always so quiet and peaceful. I adore the place. Can't beat a Pacer thumping along the track above, either. I'll most likely be hanging around there often come the summer.

Hi Kevin. I'm a UK Yorkshire based TV producer & director - and really love the feel you give you videos. I like the use of silence and am chuffed to see you messing around with new formats now (doing reverse shots etc) and styles... but the way you let the videos 'breath' is what I like the best. Its the secret ingredient. I plan to also get a boat and a motorcycle. But I want a road bike... I would be interested to know if there are solutions to mounting a heavy bike to a boat. Also - do you ever wish you'd picked a different boat - maybe slightly bigger? Or lighter? Or maybe more powerful? The key takeaway for me is that I feel I need to learn mechanic basics - or I could be spending quite a lot of money for simple problems. Oh an I would love to see you and David (Cruising The Cut) do some kind of trip challenge... top gear style? Maybe a sort of race (without breaking canal rules) (maybe boat AND van/bike) where you take separate routes to the same destination... see who gets there first (shot over 6 episodes).

I have no experience of transporting a motorcycle on a canal boat, though I have seen the occasional moped roped to the front deck. Yes, I have expressed in the past an interest in producing a collaboration of some sort or another with David Johns. That's a difficult one. I don't currently own a stills camera but when I did, I tried many. All of the Leica's were easily my favourites and out of those, the M2 & CL 35mm cameras would be tops. Digital would be the M9. If I was to purchase another stills camera, it would either be the Leica MD (the screenless digital) but that's expensive. The Fuji X-Pro2 would be my more realistic choice.

Hello Kevin! I am a bit confused now. Are you continuing on Vimeo or CZcams or both? I bought the videos on Vimeo but noticed it only goes to Season 6. Oh, and I am not complaining one bit. Just confused. I happily paid for them to have for future reference when planning my trip. I just was not sure if you would continue there or if you came back to YT. I just want to follow you and Aslan where ever you may go. :)

Kevin what camera is it that you use for your street photography? The cool one you love.
That's a difficult one. I don't currently own a stills camera but when I did, I tried many. All of the Leica's were easily my favourites and out of those, the M2 & CL 35mm cameras would be tops. Digital would be the M9. If I was to purchase another stills camera, it would either be the Leica MD (the screenless digital) but that's expensive. The Fuji X-Pro2 would be my more realistic choice.
