We all know that to rent is to put money in a rich man’s pocket so in essence ‘to rent is to throw your money away.’ Yes some young adults will never be able to save up the deposit on a house and so are left renting but it is possible to get a 100% mortgage nowadays so as long as that young adult is working there’s no real reason that they shouldn’t be able to get a mortgage. I would imagine that the UK is about on par with percentages on owning vs renting but I would say the age for moving out of their parents home is a lot younger at least 10 years younger.
