@@eve8498 nope, Atem only used Obelisk in the manga, and trying to summon Osiris at the end. Though given that Takahashi wasn’t in the best shape at that point, he probably didn’t get to do everything he wanted.
If you analyse carefully, you will see that even if he uses Obelisk Ability - soul energy max or 4000-lifepoint obliteration, it will be useless against Mirage Ruler. For Ra, his ability- Phoenix Mode can only be activated if he is special summoned and not tribute summoned.
Honestly this is one of the few times the anime actually made something better than the original manga. In the manga he only summons Obelisk (the same way as he does here, near the beginning of the duel via tributing the tricky tokens), as well as attempting to summon Osiris via Resurrection of the Dead (the same way as he does in the anime, with Yugi negating it via Gold Sarcophagus on the penultimate turn). He never summons Ra, and doesn’t even successfully summon Osiris. This version is way more epic.
I agree this is much more epic, but at the same time I like the Manga progression of this duel more. In the Anime, yugi destroys the god cards using conveluted strategy and the duel continues on without much meaning. The Manga duel is literally yugi walking his way from atem's shadow to above Atem. He starts the duel completely outmatched, then becomes atem's equal as both obelisk and Silent swordsman clash in a tie (using much more logical strategies), and finally he's able to surpass Atem at the very end of the duel. It's simple, and it makes the duel more meaningful.
This is totally epic, but I liked the mention of strategy in the manga when Yugi theorized Atem wouldn’t put all three gods in his deck because he’d have to overload it with low-level monsters to summon them.
@@bigfish5544 I disagree with the notion that the duel continues without much meaning. Knowing Yugi, he could easily just send any potential incoming damage back to Atem and win the duel if he tried P2P-Transfer (or just activate a trap like Secret Barrel, since P2P-Transfer drops Atem to 1 LP). What Atem did was actually pretty smart. And not being true will led to the possibility that Atem will never cross the door towards the Afterlife (meaning, no future for Atem and a burden to Yugi because Atem will be just a spirit that will dwell in him forever). And if Atem just let Yugi win, we will never see this great battle and we will never witness how strong Yugi is. I can't take a chill pill now.

"Wait a minute, did you just summon a bunch of monsters in one turn?"
Atem: I summon Slifer the Executive Producer, Obelisk the Torrentor and Mega Ultra Chicken.
The way Slifer/Osiris creeps out of the shadow before manifesting itself is so cool tbh, though a bit of weird intro for a "Sky/Heavenly Dragon"
I love this ceremonial battle version more than the manga 🙏
Most epic summoning the strongest cards in the game
To believe, Kaiba wanted to be the one to challenge the Pharoah in Yugi's place.
That would have been a massacre.
Why? It was never a massacre before.
@@nossenkanterKaiba with no God cards vs Yugi with all three. He couldn't beat the Pharaoh on Normal mode, you think he'd stand a chance on extreme?
@@47shadows76 Clearly he won at the end of Dark Side of Dimensions. It's the only possible way to make GX still be canon AND have Dark Side of Dimensions be canon.
@@Potterholic1 That was a different Kaiba, the Kaiba from the manga. Who wasn't there to watch Yugi and Atem's ceremonial duel. Which is why Kaiba calls him Yugi regardless.
Blue Eyes Ultimate dragon could beat the gods
It’s all fun and games until your opponent has a mirror force
Obelisk punched through it in the anime lol.
God cards in the Anime couldn't be hit by Mirror Force
Yugi be like. Cool story bro.
Draws through half the deck in one turn. Exodia, obliterate!
Teacher:The Test isn't hard.

Imagine if Pendulum Summoning was invented back then
"I can still Summon a monster"
Well, no, you Normal Summoned Obelisk
There were probably on different turns when that happens
@@edwinmiramontes7622 No it was the same turn. Atem screwed the rules.
@Nasch thank you
After Atem summoned Obelisk and ordered him to attack, Yugi activated a Magic Card that forced both to skip 3 turns. After calling off the attack due to Yugi Trap Card weakening Obelisk, Atem used a Trap to special summon Queen, King and Slifer. Then he was able to Normal Summon Ra because technically he hadn't Normal Summoned for 3 turns.
Drake Sanger
I could be wrong but I think Yugi had a turn after obelisk was summoned. That’s when he set ground erosion and summoning clock as well as summoning silent swordsman.
I remember Kaiba making a big deal about it saying something like “does he actually have a plan to face god?”. So I think it was desperate turns altogether
Goes up against 3 god is still an insane feat let alone beat it. Yugi have mature so much throughout the show. All i want to see now is kaiba vs atem rematch in the afterlife.
Yugi 2020 : 😮😮 3 Gods?!! Anyway, nibiru.
So we’re just ignoring that Slifer should’ve left the field after that turn.
The trap card says "normal summon monsters equal to the number of turns passed"
So,Slifer doesn't leaves
But whatever, the anime doesn't follow the rules, specially Atem hahahah
Atem makes the rules if he doesn't want slifer to leave then slifer won't leave
@@jay21597 True man kkkk
I think that's only with resurrection.
In the anime, the Egyptian Gods only go to the GY after being summoned from the GY, so being special summoned from the hand or deck doesn't cause them to leave during the End Phase.
When I first saw this, I thought Yugi was screwed five way from Fridays.
Childhood memories
Nice to see it again red God dragon Osiris the blue giant King God obelisk ang the sun God golden ra
My guy yugi survive from passionate duelist
2:14
Ra causing some PTSD in our boy Joey
So all this time the real champion was yugi all this time. Yami yugi was his protector dealing harsh times while yugi was the physical fighting
Wow the quality of this vid
There's a reason why we call him the KING OF GAMES❤❤
Ra end up having 5000 ATK due to the monsters that Atem used to summon him. He summon Osiris via special summon using summoning clock. He summon Obelisk using Tricky tokens.
It should’ve been “normal summon without tribute” for the summoning clock, rather than a special summon. He does say “special summon” (as the subtitles correctly translate), but that’s a mistake.
@@sungod9797 oh
Lol it was funny that Joey got ptsd from The Winged Dragon Of Ra
Yugi's got a major obstacle in this Duel.
If he wants to win, he'll need to beat Atem's strongest cards.
He did! And I am glad that Yugi won.
It's all fun and games till he realizes I set Mirror Force.
... then you remember the gods are only for show and you put a lunar shield in your kuribo to kill all the gods 😅😂
atem keepin it real

I heard the last part as "ikheri khettin erinea wani" which was a bit CLOSE.

Man, imagine if Magic: The Gathering had a cool anime like this…
The very next turn...
Yugi: Well 😥 here goes nothing! I play the spell card.... DARK HOLE!
Yami: 😐
I like that Joey still has PTSD from Ra, lol
I like how Kaiba and Bakura are like: STOP HES ALREADY DEAD
