This is the update I’ve been waiting for for so long. We finally have significant core changes to the sandbox and a PvP shakeup. I’m so excited! And season 13 will be Flameheart’s ship (which I imagine was inspired by all the videos of people taking over skeleton ships), which will probably be one of the coolest new additions ever.
2024 is looking like SoT’s best year
sots prime was arena
@@Wxyvs- No one played Arena most players back then hated arena but now most those players are good at pvp now. So now they want arena back because its better than hour glass and better rewards
@@Wxyvs- That's why less than 2% of players played it.
Ps5 players coming in made em step up there game
@@Thebassjunk it was so good that the average sword spamming idiot couldnt comprehend tdm
Thank you for not making this a 15 minutes video Phuzzy! Your ability to condense information while still making it clear is why I watch your amazing guides! :)
1:09 I don't think that this means that an enemy can have 2 weapons AND a dagger. I think what they showed in the reveal trailer, where the enemy picks up the dagger and uses it, is a scenario where both players have the dagger equipped.
Or it will be like blunderbombs
they are doing loadout reworks; it is possible, but the way it is now is definitely unlikely to have 2 guns and a knife
I think even if you have two different weapons equipped, you'll be able to pick up a dagger and throw it once.
@@Thebassjunknot even...what if you don't use it and decide to keep it...what then
@@novasludge3484 It will be like carrying a skull. you would have to throw it or drop it before being able to switch to your normal weapons.
It depends on how much damage the new weapons do, but as a helmsman that has line-of-sight on most of the deck all the time, I might end up using Eye-of-Reach and double flintlock, with a windcaller on hand. The throwing knives seem like a fun alternative to a flintlock as well.
My only issue is you can't take the wind caller with you when you dive.
trust me a sniper/ knife combo is going to be the new meta. knives deal as much damage as a sniper when thrown and about the same with the downward jab.
I’m curious how the skeletons track players once spawned, could be a guaranteed way to find tuckers which personally doesn’t sound great, maybe give certain emotes stealth mechanics besides just hidden gametag?
I don't think the devs want this, either. They mentioned doing a lot more with stealth mechanics, so even if the skeletons do find tuckers initially, I think the devs would patch it.
Season 14 is going to be a season geared toward stealth mechanics. For those Seal Team 6 pirates out there.
I'm thinking the various hide emotes will probably hide you from skellies too
@@jaymcdude1291 Hell yeah.
Brilliant video & well condensed! Thanks
That double barrel pistol is looking like a ton of fun for being a pirate gunslinger.
Im most looking forward to the knife
I like that the knife uses a weapon slot. It has versatility as it can be used as a melee weapon. And if your opponent picks up your knife they have to use it, or drop it. They can’t store it for later use. All of the weapons in Sea of Thieves are situational and part of the balance comes in choosing your load out. So the knife should take a weapon slot, as it’s not really considered a throwable like the blunder bomb.
nice summary! can't wait for all this stuff
Hey, I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your work. I've learned so much watching your vids.
Im mostly solo-ing these days so Im looking most forward to the Throwable Necromancy kit for dummies.
Its gonna help quiet a lot in day-to-day stuff
God this year is looking insane for SOT
They finally added things. Yay! Not cosmetic. Things even better. Finally zip lines. Hell yeah
I'm liking the the harpoon line walk idea.
I dont really play sot anymore but i still watch u. This seems rlly fun tho so i might come back❤
Thanks!
Omg finally!!!!!!!!! Some interesting new items that change the dynamics of the game.
Looks great just hope some of these bugs like the keyboard and mouse issues on Xbox gets fixed soon
Pokeball skellys, Ziplines, and throwing knives... amazing
One would have thought they would have had a dedicated team to fix bugs already. A bit annoying that after six years they’re only just taking the health of the game seriously.
It took them 12 seasons to add new weapons, the dev team doesnt care about their fans
Im excited for these features
I love it all except the horn. That horn has me worried. I sincerely hope its not purchasable and just found as a rare drop in siren temples. I feel that alot of this is going to go through some HEAVY fine tuning. When you release too many tools into a sandbox there are bound to be unintended outcomes that may need to be fixed.
That's also means the brigantine might don't know the mechanics of it yet. Fully not be the fastest ship anymore. It would still be the base fastest ship, but you get people galleon the new one thing and if you're traveling into the wind boom or the brigantine just gets 10 times fast, faster. Either way, it's a win unless you're a sloop
trust me a sniper/ knife combo is going to be the new meta. knives deal as much damage as a sniper when thrown and about the same with the downward jab.
It all sounds amazing.
Definitely looks interesting. I can't say I like the sound of that wind horn, it will make evading PVP sweats more annoying. Throwing knife seems somewhat useless, especially as a weapon slot. So if you can throw it someone with 2 weapons can pick it up, what is stopping players from selecting dagger, throwing it into a wall, then switching their loadout to sword or such and picking back up the extra knife again? May as well make it a 3rd dedicated weapon slot everyone can pickup and use. Walking across harpoon lines will be quite useful for getting back to the ship with loot.
Long live sea of thieves
I wonder how many throwing knives you will have and what happens with them when you hit someone, as they only specified you can retrieve them if you missed, so when you hit someone, you'll probably lose them. Curious if you can empty your hand if you forget to leave the last knife.
The video on their channel showed an ammo count, I'm going to assume the usual 5.
Speculation but maybe you cna retrieve your knives after a kill. They seem like a great companion for a sword lord
Finally, I'm glad I completely skipped these last 3 updates.
They were shit, now hopefully we get the good stuff
Honestly I might become a throwing knife main, seems like a fun pistol alternative
I like the idea of them too. I wonder how it'll combine with the double barrel flint lock.
@@jaymcdude1291 well, unless you can block with them too I don't think you will be able to sword lunge. So it may be a better idea to keep a cutlass still, and the knives could be a great companion to that. Think of them as a hybrid rnaged and melee weapon. If you trade out your sword you're technically still treading the double gunning life
@@REAL_SSC Whelp, I've always been a hard core double gunner. So, I rarely have a sword. I tried getting better with it. But, I'm just out right trash in a sword fight. 😂😂
the skeletons have a time limit on how long they are active before disappearing
The throwing knive absolutely SHRED through pve bosses due to their high rate of fire and high damage (if they don't nerf them significantly)
Im wondering if summoned skeletons will agro ladders if sombody grabs one.
i think that the dagger is good how it is, would be a shame to add a new gun without a new melee weapon
i think the balancing on the harpoon line will change the meta...
I'm at a crossroads... Do I want them to fix the Skelly ship bug (skellys don't patch holes in their ship) or keep it as is so I can get easy wins. 🤣🤣🤣
This doe have anything to do with the video but I watched your hour glass pvp curse video and I think one way to get better is by playing PvP and getting your self in the situation
the question about the bone caller bauble is does that mean that island skellies might be able to board your ship?
They probably would have to follow you up a harpoon line, as the bone caller hits the boat and summons skeletons. They also seem to be loyal to the user/crew so having a skeleton armada on your boat could be handy in situations where you are over whelmed by boarders. However the double flintlock could probably deal many hits of controlled damage to skeletons with semi predictable aim so you should only use them as cannon fodder to protect yourself when healing or long range shots. Additionally this could also be used to bait out shots and one could miss a dagger or use their double flintlock giving you time to sword them down or blunder them when they stop to reload. This update also makes swords more useful as they are very good at cutting down skeletons via Area Of Effect swings and in comparison to the amount of weapons that need reloads drastically increasing the chance of seeing people with two guns, and you can dodge throwing knives limiting your enemies options.
Does all this drop on the 30th or slowly through the season?
All on the 30th
Anyone else wish Phuzzy uploaded more long-form gameplay videos? I miss watching him, Rocket, and Jackie just doing their thing on the seas.
Thursday 🤗
@@PhuzzyBond I’ve never been more excited for a Thursday in all my life! You’re an absolute god, Phuzzy!
Definitely the harpoons
Is it so hard to add a new sword? Or a axe? You ready have the models...
we have sword skins, the way they made throwing knives is a way better than an axe imo
@@ODwaalO A sword skin isn't a new sword. They could easily add variety with minimal effort, and they choose not too. I agree the throwing dagger is a great addition, but that doesn't subtract from the fact we need more proper weapons and they could easily do so.
Yeah a new sword makes NO sense IMO why would we get a new sword added? Yes its really really really easy for them to add a new sword why would they do you even have anything your trying to get across?!?! A new sword ?!?!?!! what would a new sword even do differently then the swords we have?!?! its a stupid idea imo any sword ideas they have will be skins and these new weapons are really amazing im glad your not a Dev lmao @@trathanstargazer6421
"I agree the throwing dagger is a great addition, but that doesn't subtract from the fact we need more proper weapons and they could easily do so." ARE YOU HEARING YOURSELF?!?!?!?!! WHAT PROPER WEAPON DO YOU WANT 💀WE ALREADY HAVE A SWORD WHAT ARE YOU ON ABOUT YOU DONT EVEN SAY HOW THE NEW SWORD YOU WANT WOULD BE DIFFERENT FROM THE SWORD WE ALREADY HAVE WHAT TF YOU ON ABT@@trathanstargazer6421
@@trathanstargazer6421 Beggars can't be choosers. The community has been asking for new weapons for a long time we are finally getting them, and you are already complaining. Also what do you mean "proper weapons", I am sorry is a knife and a double barrel pistol not proper weapons to you?
hope rare does a good job with the update, we all know how buggy their updates usually are and now they are adding multiple new stuff.
THIS is what Sea of Jeeves needs. New voyages and tall tales are nice, but they aren't really needed. We need an actual goal of value to work towards that aren't just for new hats and boots.
As long as they fix lavenderbeard. I can’t buy game pass twice, so it would be really cool if they fixed it.
Only thing of these i like are the harpoon stuff and ziplines.
Do you hate fun?
They have to upgrade the server and their connections!! Im playing on Series X with a very good TV and i have so bad FPS during fights....i get kicked every 30min to 1 Hour and i can't get back on the ship etc.... so in my opinion they have to fix the server (sry 4 my bad english)
This really is a huge update! I wonder why they’ve decided to put all of it in at once…🤔
This is all over 3 seasons
Because when they add new things here and there people keep crying about "there's nothing new" all the time
@@Donchayito aaaah, this explains it, thanks. I thought it's all in the 12th season - as it's in the name of the video
No, everything shown here is season 12. Season 13-14 have other stuff@@lunakon5911
This will come in April? 🤨
Skeleton bomb will be too op and it wont take long before they severely nerf it
Those are just standard skellies it summoned...a single sword lunge will deal with it
Im scared these new core additions will ruin or taint the game somehow. I hope im wrong, and that I can adapt to it.
I'm only worried about the harpoon gun tbh
Same
I think these changes will be good for bringing freshness to combat
Solo sloop players are gonna be crying a lot hahaha but hey they are already really sweaty anyway and this game deserves a switch up in things
@@TheDarthWinnernahhhh if someone has windcaller the can constantly abuse you from in front and behind, dualed with harpoon..
Please make a new players guide directed to us PS5 players! I still can't find anyone who's made one
Is this the PS budget?
Naw all this shit has been in development probably before the deal was even made
Probably the 9 month delay from last year
Here before it blows up
👇🏻
i only played ps5 beta and this wind flute will be a game breaking item that should be removed
I couldn't agree more will ruin it
I already have a bad enough time at pvp
This update should give the game 2024 GOTY
bruuhhhhh
Actual new mechanics?? Not just a chest or skull that does a thing???
Can't wait for the anti cheat
We need more ships 🤌
Season 12 not season 14?
And yet they still do nothing to address the main issues plaguing the game lmao, imagine my shock
cant even ubdate the game :/
Half of these items were my dreams two years ago. When I had time to play the game. Shame these interesting QoL improvements drip so slowly.
Pvp sucks
SKELETON BOMB SHOULD REPAIR YOUR SHIP!
I would love to summon them to help repair, esp on a galleon.
Only stuff for sweaty PVP kids... ruining the game
Me when pvp gets a ray of sunlight once instead of the 90% pve activities
dead game huh?
Kinda yeh😂
cant say its dead when players are on it everyday..
@@NaThaNkIng2166 they lost most of the players what are you talking about lol
Holy crap! They did it. If this is as good as it looks this game could become fun all over again!!!
