You should do the tekken 4 endings. Tekken 4 was the first game that had them actually talking.

In Tekken 3, Julia's ending is the only one where characters talk, so this was the very first time they voiced it.

So one thing to note about the Tag games, is that they are non-canon. These are purely fan-service games where you can play EVERY character that has appeared in the games, regardless of if they're dead or missing from the main story. Was a pretty big deal for fighting game series to do this, and try to a tag style gameplay.
Unfortunately, this game comes with problems all fighting games of the early Playstation days had, in that the endings use the same music for every character (as well as no spoken dialogue). Unique music and voice acting wouldn't be a thing until Tekken 4 which was the next game to come out.
Now I will try to answer all the questions you had throughout this video:
3:20 - That girl is Kunimitsu. A ninja that was expelled by Yoshimitsu's clan for stealing. And by stealing, she just stole things for her own self-interest instead of being Robin Hoods like Yoshi does.
5:30 - That's Michelle and her daughter Julia. From Tekken 3 onwards, Julia would be the Native American representative of the series. But Michelle would still appear for Tag 1 and Tag 2, because fan-service.
6:57 - Actually, Lei actually has a connection with Bryan. Bryan is actually a former corrupt cop that was partners with Lei, until he got killed in a shootout with drug dealers. Then he got resurrected into a Cyborg, so now Lei is just trying to stop his former, psychopathic, partner.
7:59 - Probably didn't recognize her, but that's Jun. Jin's mother suppressing her son's Devil Gene.
13:32 - Angel was basically Kazuya's "good side" that only appeared in Tekken 2 and the Tag games (because fan-service) when you played as Devil Kazuya. She's basically an alternate costume for the Devil. And in this ending she takes a role similar to Jun in which she suppresses Kazuya's Devil Gene.
13:55 - That's the 3rd game's boss True Form, simply called, "True Ogre". Also Beth, that wasn't Jin he burned. That was Kazuya. Devil Jin wasn't a thing until Tekken 5.
(remember that Devil Kazuya is purple with demon bat wings, while Devil Jin is just Jin with horns and black angel wings.)
14:17 - That's Ogre's first form. And canonically in Tekken 3, Jin killed him. So in this what-if game, he tries to get revenge, but the black slime girl called, "Unknown", tries to save Jin.
15:24 - As mentioned earlier, this is a Tag exclusive character called "Unknown". It was never explained who this character was when this game came out. All we knew about Unknown at the time was that they played like the wooden dummy, Mokujin, in which she can copy the fighting style of every character in the game per round. Fans speculated she was either Jun or her sister because they looked so similar. Then Tag 2 came out and basically confirmed that Unknown is an evil form of Jun that only exists in the Tag games. So think like the Devi Gene for Jin and Kazuya, but it's never explained where this dark form comes from.
As for the wolf......... it's never explained. Like they don't even bring it up in Tag 2. So the wolf spirit is just a mystery and is only there for 2v2 playstyle, except the wolf doesn't actually fight and just floats behind Unknown and copies her moves. So you only just fight Unknown.

Ok so, the tall green guy is Ogre, T3's final boss and the fire breathing demon is True Ogre, Ogre's second form.
Unknown (the purple woman with the wolf) is an actual mystery, she only appears in the Tag games, as far as I recall, and she's said to be connected to Jun (like her evil part or solething like that) but it's not canon. The wolf isn't an actual character and nothing is known about it but fan theories say it's a possible connection to Claudio if I remember right 👀
And as for the Kuma/Panda drama... I don't think Kuma ever did anything wrong...Panda simply isn't interested in him and Kuma just can't take no for an answer, hence her "rudeness"

There is a brief musical allusion to Unknown in Tekken 8's main story, but otherwise yes, she's just a Tag character, and was only confirmed to be connected to Jun by them transforming rather than tagging between each other in Tag 2.

    • @WTFHAX93
      @WTFHAX93 Před 19 dny +2

Originally Unknown was supposed to be Jun's sister, named Hitomi (according to an artbook released with the Limited Edition of Tekken 6). That's why she always starts with Jun's fighting style. In the first Tag Tournament it's pretty obvious that she's not Jun, since Unknown's shorter than her, and both have very different facial features. The second Tag Tournament decided to make Unknown into a posessed Jun because of a very popular fan theory.

That was indeed Business Nina. The next stage with Jin and Jun has not been seen since, until tekken 8, when Jin finally reconciles himself in story mode. "Two versions" is Julia Chang and her mom, Michelle. Michelle was the owner of the amulet the Zaibatsu stole to resurrect Ogre. "prep school" Indeed it is. Mishima Polytechnical School for the Gifted. It's also Reina's alma mater. "this thing" That is True Ogre, Ogre's final form after he has absorbed enough souls. "werewolf" This is what COULD have happened to Jun. "green dude with ponytail" That's Ogre. The character (and werewolf) is referred in community as "JunKnown". Junknown is the secret boss of Tekken Tag one and two. This was all speculation until Tekken Eight, when Jun has all of Junknown's uber powerful moves, proving they are indeed the same person, and this is what could have happened to Jun had she not resisted Ogre.

1:42 there's also a second version of this arcade intro, where Paul and Lee are swapped (Lee is walking and Paul is driving a motorcycle)
6:52 blonde is Nina and brunette is Anna
9:30 actually, this is Forest Law (Marshall's son), only playable in Tekken 3 and Tag games
    10:10 yes, Capoeira
13:37 if I remember correctly, Angel is a good side of Kazuya, which lost to Devil in Tekken 2
13:57 True Ogre, final boss of Tekken 3, his first form (green guy) is in the next ending
15:22 this is Unknown, Jun's alter ego and final boss in Tag games. In the first game, she's some kind of possessed by werewolf and if you play as her, you can use every character's skills. Basically, she fights like Mokujin (wooden dummy ending), but the difference is that Mokujin changes "character" each round/fight, whereas Unknown can change by pressing a button.

Tekken Tag Tournament was a technical showcase for the PS2, there to show what the console could do. That's why all the endings are shot in-engine with a lot of close ups on character faces, to show what a leap has been made since the entirely static faces in Tekken 3.
I think it was put together real fast too, to be out around the time of the PS2's launch. Which is also why all the 'sets' for the endings are in-game stages, there's no VA, and everyone gets the same music.
In the arcades it was running on PS1-level hardware, so if you see a Tekken Tag with low poly models, that's what you're looking at.
