- In this video I am testing the difference between using Phase, Serato control vinyl and the official control vinyl from djay Pro. The official djay pro vinyl was the clear winner. This test was done using djay pro on the Macbook Pro.

Anyone know if Djay Pro 5.2 ver. Have a Thru button in the app like in Serato in order to be able switch back and forth from DVS to analog vinyl?

Thanks. I really didn't think to do that at the time. This was an informal spur of the moment video. I may try this test again to see what needs to be done to get a good signal from the serato vinyl.
@@logisticalstyles this should greatly improve tracking. I am 90% sure it works with Phase as well
With the issues you had with the Rane 12's, would you recommend preowned ones for a first DVS setup? I'm a little nervous as I see a bunch of 12's for sale at GC. On the flipside, I've found a used RP-7000 MK2 for the same price.
The 12s do drift too… I’d say mostly after backspinning though not so much with scratching
Due to my history with them I would not recommend preowned Twelves. A lot of people may be selling them now to upgrade to the new Performer or some other new gear and then there will be people selling them because of technical issues. If you have a vinyl collection then the RP-7000 MK2 would be a better option along with Phase.
Yeah Logistical Styles had the spin up problem bad with his 12s, I've probably used mine at this point for around 500 hours and have only seen it once maybe twice... But then I don't use them for gigs so I also don't really care anyway... The bigger issue for me is never quite getting the right backspin feel right with the janky spindle system that Rane has... I imagine the CRSS-12 is way better with its magnet solution but they will run you almost $1k more compared to used 12s...
My Rane 12 advice for anyone is use a washer between the slip mat and control on disc to help the heavy backspin!
This was a great video my DJ brother logisticalstyles I actually jumped from serato to DJ pro because of the loop functions and capabilities of DJ pro it looks everything from the 70s to the current but I was doing just that using my serato sticker vinyl with DJ pro and the drift I didn't mind it too much because I'm an old school DJ keep your eye on the on your marker that's all but definitely informative 🎚️🎚️🎚️💯✌🏿
What DVS option did you use in the Phase settings? The default is Serato setting and you can switch it to Djay.
In my Phase Manager 2 there is no option for djay. Only Serato, Traktor, Rekordbox, Ms Pinky, edjing, Virtual DJ, mixvibes, and Custom.

No, it's not an issue. It makes sense that the official djay pro control vinyl would work perfectly with djay pro. I've never had this issue with Serato either but that's because I always use Serato control vinyl with Serato. I think this is a good reason why Phase and algoriddim need to hurry up with HID support.
You can have this issue with any DVS... If you use Anti-Drift and phase the drift gets really bad sometimes. I will say since I started using the Pioneer Crss12's I get no drift at all... It's really pretty amazing.

@@UONeal how adjustable is the feel for backspin? Is it easy to dial in the exact amount of weight you want?
