I bought one of these at a thrift store, but it didn't come with the pot. Is the pot it comes with special, or can you use whatever?

As far as I know you don't need the pot. It should make a noise as soon as it's not touching anything though. So if it's not making noise the battery might be dead?

Just bought one without the pot too. I have a magnetic screwdriver I put at the bottom and removed and it starts crying. I’m guessing the bottom of the pot had some kind of magnet that triggered the crying
