    Hi Autogefühl
    Me and my husband bought a 308sw gtline 1,6 bluehdi with 120hp automatic, the difference to gt is only the engine and suspension setup, we got it 3 days ago drove 600 km, and are extremely pleased. Yes the steering wheel is small, but it is amazing to use, is precise and smooth. The touch screen is good to use, and easy, and in cars with mechanical adjustment you have to look down from the road to see the temperature that you adjusted. About the roadnoise there is a importaint fact that has to be told.
    If you get the Denon audiosystem, you get a soundsystem that is developed entirely for this model, PLUS it has active noise reduction, meaning that it reduses actively road noise, and it works very very good, you still hear a little roadnoise at small volume, but when we drive with soundlevel apropriate for conversation, the roadnoise is limited enough, that it does not bother.
    Previous peugeot models at mid/low class had a interior quality at medium quality, but the new 308 sw gtline, is well done, and protection against korrosion is very very high, and importaint for us, because we live in norway.
    Would be nice if you tested the 308sw gtline 1,6 diesel (120 hp version) with the automatic gearbox.

    In response to the comments about navigating thru multiple screens to change air con settings, its not that bad...you can touch the top of any screen (where it has the temps displayed) and takes you straight there. Not quite as easy as old style dial but pretty good

    • @altern8ive
      @altern8ive Před 9 lety +1

      ***** i mean driver distraction in the case of when you want to adjust the ventilation. instead of quickly turning a rotary dial to adjust temperature, for example, it takes more button presses and a glance away from the road to change it. there's no tactile feeling or surface on a touchscreen.

    The only problem I see with some of their cars is that the climate controls are utilized through the sat nav screen, I think that's too much fussing about to just change the interior temp. I think they should just use knobs for redundancy in case you don't want to go through the screen menus to change the temp.

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl Před 9 lety

      Eric Glueckert Agree - there has to be a compromise between touchscreen control and knob control. Audi does that best atm I think, where you find seat heating and climate as knobs but most of the rest in the touch

    Is the steering wheel telescoped all the way out so you can sit farther back? I sometimes have a problem with stick shift cars because the clutch requires that you sit closer than with an automatic trans. You can often move the steering wheel to adapt, but not often the pedals.

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl Před 9 lety

      emjayay True, pedal moving is usually only available in Maseratis. You can telescope the steering wheel here, yes, that's good and also utterly needed. Same for me, although I am quite tall I always move the steering wheel in the nearest position to my body. Most people sit too far back in the car and thus dont have brake pressure on their toes :)

    I have had a 2016 version without sunroof and with alcantara/artificial leather seats, also in this blue magnetic. I loved the car so much that since january this year I have bought the facelift version (white metalic). Unfortunately with sunroof since in the Netherlands you can't order one without but beside from that again a superbe car. For me this car delivers a perfect compromise between sportiness and comfort. For me the seats are perfect (I am 181 cm tall). Off course there are several changes made by Peugeot, f.e. at last a good navigation system (TomTom), also is the infotainment system a little bit faster. The lane departure warning system is nice but 90% of the time I have switchted it off. Concerning the noise, the guy which tested the car had the car in sport mode (completely red dials) and yes a artificial sporty sound is added through the speakers, if shut off the car is immidiately quit!! With the sport mode "on" the gas response is addictive and the steering is much heavier, but not too heavy. Unfortunately the artificial sound (which sounds completely different since the facelift version) cannot be switched of indipendently.

And as a Golf 6 GT R-Line owner myself, ican tell you it easily handles curvy roads better than almost any car (Chassi is awesome). Golf is a Reference Class for the small cars. So a small car can many times be much more fun to drive even if they have small engines. Also this guy have a GTI - The engine is extremely Tuneable. Iv heard guys sayin it gets crazier than the R model if you Tune the GTI. He probably got this experience, coz its good in Low RPM's.

    They both have nice interior, the kia has more room in the back, costs about 2-3k euro less on current offer, but it's engine performance is slightly lower than the Peugeot's and the fuel consumption is also at least 2-3 l higher than the Peugeot's (which will even the price difference in about 4 years judging by my 15.000 - 20.000 km/year, on the Kia side there's also the 7 year warranty compared to 4 year warranty from Peugeot

Golf is boring history, it should need to change line completely, sick and tired to not see big difference between old version Golf and new version Golf, not to mention that Golf, Seat, Audi A3, Skoda and etc, have the same base platform, so Golf it is boring not just inside, but outside too. VW need to invest money in development of theirs cars. They cannot change just few things and call Golf new version Golf and charge people with big money for that. Also Inside Golf is too old, classic and boring, need total redesign. Total!! Sorry Peugeot 308 is faster, better, spend less gasoline, it is much more modern, plus it is a cool car.

    Hola, from Mexico!
    Excellent review! Im considering getting either the 308 GT or the VW GTI, but I'm still undecided... The 308 is so much better equipped, cheaper, and has a fantastic interior design, much nicer than the GTI's. Which of the two do you think will hold up better in quality and resale value after a few years?

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl Před 9 lety +1

      YCLRB Here in Germany, the GTI would definitely do that as it's a Volkswagen and Germans trust in that. How is that in Mexico about the general brand attitude? What are the offerings from your dealers in price comparison ?

    • @YCLRB
      @YCLRB Před 9 lety

      Here in Mexico, VW is probably the most trusted car brand. Peugeot has had a bad run here because of bad post-purchase costumer service, unavailability of parts, etc. Personally, my last three cars have been GTIs, but im not impressed with the new version. The price is nearly 9000 US dollars above a similarily equipped 308 GT, and frankly its interior design pales in comparison to the 308's. Very few people buy Peugeots over here, mostly brand loyalists; in fact, Peugeot only expects to sell some 500 units of the 30 GT!
      Im curious as to your opinion on long-term quality for Peugeots, especially the 308 GT.

    I think it's wrong to compare it to a Golf GTI. GTI is a hot hatch version, 308 GT is not. GT is just a top of the line sports package....kinde like M-sport in BMW or S-line in Audi, not an actual M model or RS model. They only car you can really compare the 308 GT to is a Renault Megane GT, which also has about the same power, and about the same setup. They're GT cars, yes, a bit sporty, but still grand tourers, made to be driven quickly but comfortably on the roads, not to set record laptimes on the tracks. 308 GTI will be the real hardcore hot hatch that will drive like a proper sporty car. I didn't drive the 308 GT, but I drove the regular 308 with 1.6 thp 155hp, and it drove really nice, felt very light and agile, great body control, neutral handling, but still comfortable and smooth enough for regular use, and still "soft" and "dead" enough in handling that it felt very stable and safe while driving quickly, which is what matters on road. You want that security and stability, even if it means that the car is on purpose set up to understeer a bit on the limit and to be a bit less exciting and sharp than it can be.

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl Před 9 lety +1

      derbigpr500 Well I do think you can compare it, because it's the compact segment and the sports version as well as it has the same price. It's always a discussion which cars you can compare directly and which not... but fact is that people that are interesting in the Golf GTI might also be interested in the 308 GT and vice versa. So not bad to get them informed what they can expect with each car. You are right that the GTI has more power, although about that S-Line thing, for that Peugeot has now the new GT-Line. So their GT is supposed to be the top sports version - but maybe they failed to do so according to your thoughts :)

    great video and thanks for sharing!! just some advice from a humble viewer: if possible you should include more action and passion in your videos and less talking (we need specs and everything just cut down on some of the seriousness ! trust me i would kill to be in your position so im just suggesting what would make me even more satisfied while watching this.

      any car review channel can create the 'action' footage but very few include the finer details which the ***** team provide. the good points and bad, styling and general feeling of a vehicle is where the passion comes from. After all in English "Autogefühl" means "car feeling". also it's very rare for a mainland European review channel to have it's spoken content delivered in a non-native language. another consideration im very grateful of :)

    I have the GT 308 line with Panorama Window. And I Love the CAR :)
    I dont like:
    The Aluminium Gearshift looks GREAT feals GREAT but you burn your Fingers when Sun is shining it gets extreme hot!
    The Storage of the Water for the Windows is a little bit too small for me!
    I lowerd the Wheel Pressure from 2.3 bar to 2.1 bar more comfortable driving!
    I like especialy at the Car:
    The rear darkened Windows makes the Car look great!
    The Bottleholder in the middle of the Car is EPIC. you push down a Cupholder for smaller Cans or Bottles 0,33l and push it back for greater Bottles up to 1.5L Every Bottle between this Sitze is holdet Secure and out of Disturbing!
    The G-Force Meter in the Sports Mode 0.6 G in the curve is possible ;) at your own Risk of course ;). Hit on in the Sports Mode one time the Whiper Button for this Option.
    The Sound of the Denon Soundsystem :)
    ONLY 1400kg Wight with Driver :) :) 6,82KG/PS This comes out especaly from 120-180KM/h
    TIP: Buy 3 Anti Slip Pads place it on the front of your Tachometer its a good place for your Sunglasses and automatik Garagedoor opener.

    You keep comparing it to other gti and hot hatches but this isn't a hot hatch, this is the middle version of the car, the 308 gti would be in the class to compare , gti is 270bhp, completely different car to the gt version, I own a gti and also driven the gt, both great cars

      marko medjedovic No....it's funny how one design feature will be 'impressive' or 'interesting' when it's in an ultra expensive supercar (Aston Martin) and it's 'a shame' when it's in a Peugeot. They did that to make sure that the Rev meter is fully visible above the steering wheel PLUS being different.
