The cooking is great, but the mannerism he displays with his daughter and wife, is what I have learned the most. The patience, positivity, and ability to listen has helped me become a better father and husband. Big Ups Deddy!

Check Caribbean, South American, Asian (Indian, Thai, Viet etc), Hawaiian or African market or supermarket. It's also called Caribbean spinach, bhaji or amaranth and belongs to the group of plants that provide the "cereal" grain.
It also grows well in South US states, often wild.
You can get plants online or a plant shop, there are many varieties and even the very colorful ornamental varieties are edible.

For that size breadfruit, I bake for about 90 minutes at 350. Test with a toothpick to see if done. I put it in a metal baking dish to make sure no liquid fall in the oven. No need to turn while roasting.

Thanks for posting these scrumptious videos for us to make authentic jamaican cuisines that bring the 'yawd vibez' to us outside the Caribbean.
I'm told callaloo is similar to collard greens. Therefore, I watched closely to selection, cleaning & cutting techniques. Deddy cut alot of stalk into this dish which has me wondering if all that stalk will make the dish bitter as the callaloo cooks down?
I also tried the canned version of callaloo by Linstead Market, even when rinsed thoroughly had a very bitter taste. I'm wondering if this is because too much of the stalk was added.
I'll try your recipe, eliminating the stalk to see if there's a difference in taste. Please explain why some of the stalk needed to be peeled away. Is it taking away outer layer of stalk? Is it removing stringy part of stalk? What's the purpose of peeling that area of stalk? Lastly, how long was the breadfruit roasted in oven?

When you stript the stem it makes it soft it's like peeling. Also when the breadfruit get spongey it's ready.

We grow several large planter each summer season. Some we freeze for the winter months. Never plant it in your garden plot. It will take over and it will take years to take back your growing space. It spreads like a weeds. When we run out we buy graces in the can.
