No, not the circus at all. Armani took his inspiration from harlequin, a character in the commedia dell’arte.

FINALLY THE HAUTE COUTURE RETURNS.
I love everything about this collection. The fabrics, the lovely ,clever designs and the beautiful way the clothes kiss the women’s bodies as they walk down the runway.,simply weep with admiration at the timeless elegance of it all. Its a breath of fresh air in contrast to the unwearable , clown like clothes I’ve seen at some shows. Do those designers hate women🇵🇪?
Are these clothes inspired by the Harlequin clown ? It's a serious observation. And it is wearable, although I think only tall, thin women with angular bones look good in Armani, not curvy women. You have to have small breasts and straight hips, which is why I find Armani womenswear too "masculine".
@@gobyfish1399 No, I've seen women of average size, not too thin or tall but rich (naturally), wear Armani couture many times. The house would make alterations to fit the proportions of the customer, no matter what shape or size. The runway shows are to present the collections in the best light and most covetous way so they use beautiful models with "perfect" bodies. Most haute couture fashion are for a certain select section of society only but a fantasy for most ordinary people anyway. The Armani collection is one of the most elegant and feminine collections in a fashion season.
@@MTMF.london I see. But still I think the proportions of the clothes tend to favor a tall thin shape, or at least maybe make you look taller and thinner than you really are. Armani is indeed elegant, but I've always felt there is a masculine edge to his clothes, the femininity is not soft and sensuous, its more hard edged, sharp shoulders, a lot of pants, tailoring, its not Donna Karan which IMO is the feminine version of Armani's minimalism.
@@gobyfish1399 Armani's clothes suit all different body sizes and I think having a masculine edge to them is interesting and sexy. He's never into all-out girly/pretty stuff but rather he goes for a more understated, easy elegant aesthetics. Donna Karen, on the other hand, goes for more body-conscious looks that need a very good, fit body to pull through.
@@MTMF.london I should have said Body Shape not body type. Armani doesn't make clothes for curvy women, if a curvy women wore Armani, her curves would be hidden, ( Armani doesn't like curves on a woman IMO ) whereas Donna Karan celebrates a woman's curves, so you don't necessarily need to have a hourglass figure. ( but it looks best in DK ). Every designer has a favorite body shape, like Chanel is for the gamine, Versace is for the Amazonian, Dior is for the classic, YSL is for the very tall and thin, less curves like Armani but even more extreme etc

As always Mr. Armani delivers the best of the best haute couture collection. I adore every detail in those pieces elegant, timeless and very feminin. Mr. Armani understands the women nature and fashion like no other designer, a true Maestro indeed.
I don't think he is the only one, but one of the few. I love every single one of his pieces. He is truly a Maestro.
I'd rank him 2 put of 10 for haute. Love Armani but "one of a kind" cant be used to describe him or his fashions.

He understands there is no need to reinvent the wheel, no need to predict the future of fashion, no need to create new silhouettes and color palettes to remain relevant, and no need to appeal to a continuously revolving set of influencers. Armani is the past, present, and future. He understands the business too and has positioned himself as pure luxury. Going to a wedding or formal events? Wear Armani. Oscars? Armani. I'm not rich or famous and not in his "target" audience but OMG how "wearable" his clothes are. I'm not able to afford "couture" but this will trickle down to his ready to wear and they are not out of reach. These are all
"timeless" wearable for years to come. Unless you are part of the 1% who can afford couture then most will never know if the "Armani" top, jacket, pants, etc are this season or 10 seasons ago!! He has no need for outlandish shapes that have never appeared on any human in order to show his "creative" side as so many designers, he relies on his knowledge of what is wearable and what is pure comic fantasy which other designers always seem to again interpret as wearing nothing that can be worn comfortably or even fitting human anatomy!! His designs are feminine, sleek and elegant!! Love them!! Bravo Mr. Armani!!

Elegant with impeccable tailoring. Beautiful fit on the jackets. Stunning lines and luxurious fabrics. Loved the French Navy blue on some of the gowns. (6:59) Another color standout was the green trim at 9:10. loved the dress at 10:15. The use of harlequin seemed to add a lot of depth and pattern to the fabric.

... i pantaloni con quelle "ali" laterali sono magici. Le spalle ridiscegate delle giacche sono "perfette". Colori meravigliosi e adatti a tantissime tonalità di pelle, forme accoglienti e "comode". non è semplice creare abiti portabili e "di sostegno all'eleganza rilassata". LUI ci riesce. Come nessun altro. Davvero. Sono stregata da questa collezione. 🙏
