Would love to see this funding toward non-battery buses, unfortunately I feel Trollybus schemes aren't considered despite there usefulness.
Consider their much better performance on steeper routes, that could make some routes in the hillier parts of the county possible as battery just can't do them inclines.
What routes are they between Leeds and Wakey, I couldn't tell?

Calderdale and Kirklees was fully highlighted. Does that mean they can recieve random vehicles for any route.

No, basically of the hilly nature of the area and the considerable weight of the batteries in the electric buses they are going to trial some buses I believe 8 to see if they are viable.

@@Thoroughfare Fair but they would do decently on 508, 590/1/2 and X63. Also isn't WYCA buying some for the Holmfirth, Todmorden and Hebden Bridge locals?

Yeah they could work on those routes but I think they want to ensure they will before spending the money, I mean Transdev trials BEB's quite often to check viability even on the really flat 662 route. As for the new buses personally I haven't heard anything but I'm pretty sure that they aren't in the scope of the first phase of the ZEBRA scheme, most of the new buses around their have been from Team Pennine bringing in new veichles and refurbing the old-ones every so often with the 502 soon to be rebranded to The Northern Line.

@@southyorkshirebuses5176 I'm sorry what? This is completely irrelevant to the comment I just mentioned.

@@YorksLancsTransportHub Yeah thats my bad, sorry about that. I've looked over my notes for the video and whilst I cannot say for certain the routes they will be on in the first of phase of this the trail BEBs are going to be placed on WYCA contract routes as are the buses to be introduced later. As I say I do apologise about my laspe in judgement orginally I mainly focussed on the rest of West Yorkshire due to using the Full Business Case that talks about Leeds, Wakefield and Bradford mainly. Here: www.westyorks-ca.gov.uk/media/8305/zebra-fbc-redacted.pdf as for the new buses in Holmfirth, Todmorden and Hebden Bridge locals I've not heard anything. Furthermore, Its unclear where the funding is coming from for Kirklees and Calderdale as in the Business Case it says that the funding isn't coming from Zebra but the Transforming Cities Fund [2] whereas on Metro is just says WYCA is funding new buses without making it clear if its Zebra funding or not. Again I'm sorry about getting that off topic with my response, I hope this is somewhat more sufficent. If electric buses are a better solution not just in cities and towns but also in rural areas that want better greener transport. Even hydrogen buses is also lot better and to replace diesel buses.
