    Hi! I just want to weigh in here as a 35+yo (cough, 43, ugh!) woman who has not had kids. All the guidance says I should use the large, of basically every cup, and every large cup I've tried has been awful. I really was sure that the small would be way too small and that I was just some unusual shape or something, but it turns out, the small is what I needed. I have spent tons of money on different cups because sizing guidance was pushing me towards larger cups when they are physically the wrong size. I wasn't sure I'd ever be able to use one, but I think the Saalt small might be, finally, the one!

    • @PutACupInIt
      @PutACupInIt  Před 5 lety +8

      We try to take several factors into consideration when helping people choose a cup. You are so right that age is not really the best indicator for size. We often see brands make a suggestion based solely on age or light vs heavy flow but they are both limiting. That said, a better explanation wouldn’t fit on a box very well so I suppose we understand needing to start somewhere 🤷‍♀️

  • @RealMexFoodShouldntGiveUDrrhea

    I took the PACII quiz and got this cup as one of the recommendations. I ordered it a few days ago thinking my period would happen next week but I think it’s gonna start tomorrow 😭 I’m so excited to use this, even though I am a newbie to cups I got this one because I do have a lot of pain down there during my cycle and was scared of cups that are too firm. The Ruby cup is another one that I am quite interested in. If I fail with this one, that’s my next purchase but hopefully it all does well.

      I bought in to it, and I'm not happy with it. $40 down the drain for me anyway. It's very hard to move it around cuz you can't pull on the steam to adjust it if you need to. Granted I'm still finding my Goldie locks cup and having trouble with mine 4 months later but I feel it's a gimmick but may be good for people that can just pop it in and go. I have a crooked cervix so I always have to adjust it. That pull tab makes it almost impossible

    Since the last period, I finally started to "in-depth" study the menstrual cup by almost watching all clips posted by Kim and Amanda, many other uploaders'/manufactorers' menstrual cup review/demo videos, and reading paper about menstrual cup risks. Fortunately, I found no paper says that menstrual cup causes endometriosis in PubMed, or say it is a field that needs studying (or this does not make any sense at all)? Medical research is not my field. It almost became my new "hobby" to watch menstrual cup reviews every day... that I had to stop CZcams pushing menstrual cup videos to me at some point.

    Thank you so much for this amazing resource, it's absolutely invaluable!
    I had a diva cup many years ago, which worked fine, but wasn't so amazing that I ever got around to replacing it after I lost it in a house fire. I've been meaning to try out a cup again, so when I stumbled across PACII and took the quiz, I thought why not?
    Well, I tried out the recommended Saalt Soft large on my last period, and it was so great! It didn't press on my bladder or induce any cramping, which I remember being a bit of an issue with the diva cup. It was soft enough that it was easy to fold down quite small for insertion, which I was glad of because the large looked massive compared to what I remembered of my old size small diva cup. The rim had enough strength that it was pretty easy to get it to open up with a quick 'twirl' - and I could grip it well enough to do that manoeuvre even after trimming off the stem. I didn't leak once. Just overall a massive win.
    If I get a second cup, I might try something just a tiny bit shorter for the first day - I checked the comparison chart, and the Lena Sensitive looks like it might be a winner.
    Thanks again for everything you're doing.

    1:35-1:43 it's a lot more expensive than other cups😢. But I've tried 4 and at this point I'm still looking for my 100% perfect cup. Hopefully this is it. Thank you so much for making it available on Amazon😊. I'm a prime member 😅. I just ordered it about 10 minutes ago and it should arrive in the next couple hours (as in TODAYYYYY!!!). Which is awesome because I have a long shift tomorrow -perfect trial run. (Anytime I'm trying out a cup for the first time I always have an extra underwear and a backup cup that I know I'm comfortable w). I'm just very, veryyy tired of waking up to stains in my underwear even if I felt like the cup opened. I think the rim of my current cup isn't firm enough and my pelvic floor bends it out of shape. (Esp when exercising).
    1:59 for sure. Nothing uglier than my yellow tinged diva cup 😂😂

    Quick question: I am trying to decide between the Saalt Soft cup and the Tampax for my first cup. I have a high cervix with severe cramping during my period, that's why I first decided on the Saalt one. But, now with so many positive reviews and it's affordability/availability, I am tempted by the Tampax. 🤷‍♀️ Which one should I choose?

    • @PutACupInIt
      @PutACupInIt  Před 4 lety +2

      They're both great cups, the Tampax is entirely different in that the rim is super wide but this was a design based on their own extensive research and wears great (just a little hard to remove until you get the hand of it) But neither are super long so you might want to consider a longer cup for easier reaching.

    • @evelynperez595
      @evelynperez595 Před 5 lety

      From the experiences I've heard there aren't any contraindications on using the cup while having an IUD. You just have to be more cautious while "breaking the emptiness" 🤔 sorry, not English speaker. You have to be gentle and cautious so that you don't pull the threads from your IUD but I think it's more important that you find a cup that fits your cervix and if they both are well colocated you won't have any problems

    • @FionaC1
      @FionaC1 Před 5 lety

      The advice is usually to have the threads trimmed on the IUD to minimise risk of catching the thread.
      I had a personal nightmare experience with a firm cup while wearing a Mirena IUD - somehow my cervix got caught on the outside of the cup, which caused the mirena to puncture the inner wall, severe pain, had to get iud removed next morning etc etc. I do wonder if that might partly have been due to the cup’s firmness (an old UK MoonCup) as others say they have had no problems wearing a cup with an IUD.
      Cervix height might also be a factor, since mine is fairly low during my period - a higher cervix would keep the strings up and more out of the way(?).

    • @mamabearsewing6386
      @mamabearsewing6386 Před 4 lety

      I don't imagine that virginity would be the issue. It might be inserted at the wrong angle. Try putting a finger in first and make a note of the angle, fold it using the punch down fold (for the smallest insertion point), take a breath, breathe out, relax the muscles, and try again. It takes some time and figuring out what works best for your body. PACII has great troubleshooting videos also. Or you could contact Saalt for more help. They gave me some great tips! Good luck!
