- Gabriel Stokes, an amazing character. He is played by an amazing actor (Seth Gilliam) and the character made so much progress over the years. He is one of my favorite characters currently and I really hope he will survive season 11.

I remember when his character was introduced, the actor recieved death threats for how badly he was hated. Now, he's a fan favorite. Crazy lol

@@truegrit9202 It happened when his character was first introduced, and it was revealed how he had survived for so long. He was a priest, who was such a coward that let his entire congregation get eaten alive, while he was safe inside, listening to them die. I guess it just didn't sit well with people who can't separate the actor from their performance.

This my favorite character he's the most changed character in my opinion.
I'm real tied with Gabriel and Eugene if it comes to change. Aaron is also up there, but the first 2 are really different from the start

Carol Peletier is the real #1. Gabriel is easily #2 in that regard. My favorite characters are the ones who were heavily shaped by the apocalypse.

Man characters like Gabriel, Aaron and many others are so great due to their characters going through so many changes yet they're still as great as they where in older seasons.
Aaron was way ahead of the curve with the alexandrians. He knew how to survive out in the world, not even alexandrias runners were competent, it was just him and eric that could survive out for any length of time
Aaron was already a survivor before the group arrived
The walking dead has two characters who completely changed. Most characters get worse over time, some smarter and some who thrive. But two of them stick out above the others and that are Garbriel and Carol. The were both the kind of people you'd expect to die first. Needed protection from others and slowly became the most cunning, smartest, strongest and most feared characters while still holding on to their morals. They became not just better but the best version of themselves. Ofcorse they aren't perfect and make mistakes just like any other.
Agreed 100000%! I can't put one above the other in whose change was more dramatic. Both were amazing and still is.
Can't talk about Gabriel (haven't watched since season 6) BUT carol is exactly how youb write good, compelling and strong characters, regardless of gender. Not this bullshit assholes like Kennedy or Smith try to force feed the audience.
You need a character the audienced cares for, all the rest comes after that
I think Daryl and Aaron deserve some consideration along with Gabriel and Carol. The four of them undergo massive changes in different ways, which is why they are the four best characters the show has had.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS. He is a badass! I love the transition he had, from a scared priest to a protector who wouldnt hesistate to kill to save himself and his people.
I remember when I used to say he should have died in ep 16. But I'm glad hes still here. I'm glad hes still around. Cant wait to see more of him in the second half of season 11. As stated, I hope he reunites with Rosita

Went from a character that everyone was just expecting to die and wished to die
to the resident bad ass and one of the most beloved characters in the series.
Rick, Daryl, Maggie, Carol, Eugene and Gabriel has had some of the best character development in this show.
And Aaron imo

He turned into one of the coolest characters in the show, love his walk and his black hat look. For me TWD is Maggie, Negan, Daryl, Carol and Gabriel.

Gabriel has earned his keep and has become a fearless leader in the eyes of Rick. Rick has changed the minds of even the weak and cowardly. People aren’t born brave. They’re molded by experience. Molded by change. It’s our greatest self.
His television character is so much more fleshed out than his comic counterpart.
I like how Gabriel isnt lile any other Religeous Character in a Zombie Movie/Series, He never loses his faith but still acts like the other characters and wont hesitate to kill a Zombie.

Previously he locked the door for his own safety in the church, now he is willing to die to open the door to save everyone
A lot of people didn't realized that at first he was afraid and not really trusting of Rick and his group. But as time when on. He saw that Rick and his people weren't what he thought they were. He realized that they were just good people trying survive in a world where they've all lost so much. As time kept passing on he saw Rick as more than just a leader. He became part of his family. And through the years, he learned to survive, fight, and trust his new family. He was also finally able to let the past go. Through that he became God's fearless soldier. And now he's just badass. It's crazy how much he has change. I couldn't imagine what would've happened if he never met Rick. I'm just glad that he's still alive and kicking asz lol.
Father Gabriel really has one of the best charecter redemption stories by far. Like he wasn't a villain like neegan but he was extremely unlikable. By the end he was a top 10 favorite charecter hell maybe even top 5 tbh.
But number 1 will forever be Glenn. R.I.P Glenn

Gabriel is one of my favourites characters he has grown sooo much on me each new season he is in from a coward to a BADASS fighter , survivor, (loyal, and a true great friend/ family member) Rick saved a lot of people including Gabriel making him family

Apart from Carol, Gabriel had one of the best character developments in TWD
I enjoy and love characters like these who start of weak and cowardice because this is what all of the population would act it’s basic human nature, characters like Eugene, carol, and Gabriel are some of my favorites cause it depicts the ability that humans have to evolve when the situations call for it not immediately but over time
Super interested in Gabriel now that the final episode is upon us. A great character with such great growth. "Praying" that his stories continues on
Even though I've never watched a full episode of TWD. Gabriel is one of and always has been one of my favourite characters. Everyone would react differently to how a situation happens, some freeze, some sacrifice, some act. Gabriel just did what he thought he could to survive. And it kept him alive.

One of my favorite characters in the series. A complete badass now. Losing that eye turned him into a savage
When I think about it, currently, Gab basically has the position Rick would've likely had right now in the show. Head of the council. The people who make the final decision. That's crazy when you think of who and what he was in season 5. One of my favorites now too.
I really disliked his character at first and didn’t think he would last for very long at all, but he came so far and he slowly became one of my favorites 🥺

Gabriel lowkey one of my all time favs
Gabe and Carol had the best turnaround storylines in the entire show.
He was a coward and those are the scariest type of people because they have the potential to flip on you and you won’t see it coming. Atleast he became brave.
I really liked his arch and how much it deviated from the comics. Great character, much like Carrol. The weakest became the strongest.

Depending on how you viewed Carol killing and burning the sick people during the prison arc you could possibly make a case for her. Though I understand why she did it
Gabriel is so goated. I didn’t like him at first and expected him to die in a couple episodes and now he’s one of my favorites
What's very interesting and a testament to the show is that there were so many characters that had outstanding arcs. Gabriel in particular. He could have wound up like Gregory. He almost loses his life saving Gregory and does lose his eye, but he became a beacon of resilience and courage in Alexandria and remained steadfast to his friends and loved ones.
Father Gabriel is literally the best priest in the series, so glad AMC didn't kill him off cause in the comics he got devoured by walkers because of beta.
EDIT: fun fact in prison carol was supposed to be the one who died, not T-DOG just like in the comics, in carols death she got bit by a walker on a neck, and T-DOG was closing the gate until he heard Carol's scream on the background, he turned around and saw 2 walkers devouring carol, but T-DOG was always late to the set they have no choice but to fire him and let carol to take his role overtime due to character developement.
Wow, this one is miles ahead from the one in the comic, i didn't watched the show but this is one of the few i didn't mind knowing about
