Nope, don't agree. The problem we have with Rudy isn't the fact that Luka made a shot. Of course, he'll make that shot a good amount of times. The problem is Rudy essentially gave him a wide-open shot because he isn't good whatsoever with perimeter defense. Look at AD for example. Jamal Murray hit a game-winner over him but it was so contested and AD forced him into a tough shot. Nobody's asking Rudy to get a stop on an all-time great all we want is some defensive effort and awareness. It looked like I was guarding Luka out there.

Draymond and Charles have been consistently wrong in these situations the whole postseason. When Minnesota went up on Denver 2-0, they said Denver was done, then Denver came back and won 3 straight. Then they said Minnesota was done, and they won the next two to win. They're saying all of this when Dallas won 2 games by a single possession.
Were they?? Their predictions for the winners still came true in the end. No one can predict the results of every single game. And the games being close doesn't matter. Every game was close against the Lakers and Denver and the Lakers scratched away with a single game. If a team is consistently beating you by 1 or 2 points that even worse than losing by 20

It was not a surprise at all that Gobert's man would set a ball screen for Luka. It is the most predicable final play they could have possibly ran. If the Wolves choose literally any other scheme it likely goes better. They can blitz Luka. Naz Reid covers the roll man. Ant has to guard two on the near side. Gobert can hedge and McD can recover back to Luka - especially since the screen was set SO high. If Luka throws to the open roll man in the high post I can live with that guy making a 15 footer to tie the game. Lastly I'd say even if they do switch Gobert onto Luka I can't understand why Gobert wouldn't hard deny a three. We all know Luka is impossible to guard. Give him a free path into the lane. Naz Reid steps up to help. If he makes a contested 2 that's better than an open 3.

Gobert did very well to protect the drive AND still challenged the 3 without fouling Luka for 3 foul shots. Gobert did amazing...Luka made a better shot

That's your definition of well??? Huh. Luka had a wide-open shot because Rudy somehow went backwards. When I think of well I think of AD and his defense. When Jamal Murray made a shot over AD that was the best defense he could've played in that situation. Of course all-time great players can make shots. But the lack of effort and defensive awareness by Rudy isn't what DPOY normally does. A guy like BAM, Wemby or AD would've contested that shot way better.
