Musack's 11th annual backyard Rock n' Roll Carnival on May 5 and 6 to support music education featured a surprise set from Tony Kanal, Tom Dumont, and Adrian Young fronted by kids who benefit from music programs supported by Musack, a music education charity that gives kids and teens a voice through music.

Other sets from May 5th and 6th included Rancid’s Tim Armstrong, Fred Armisen (Saturday Night Live, Portlandia), and Wolves of Glendale,Waxahatchee, Ben Lee’s DJ persona DJ Dad Bod, Los Abandoned, The Steens, a celebrity guest filled set from Middle Aged Dad Jam Band w/ Ken Marino and David Wain, and closing set from punk rock legends The Dickies.
Tony Kanal, Tom Dumont, and Adrian Young (No Doubt/DREAMCAR) surprised everyone to play some classics like “Blitzkrieg Bop” with AFI and DREAMCAR lead singer Davey Havok. They were then joined by a group of kids who benefit from Musack programs for fan favorites like “Spiderwebs,” “Underneath it All,” and “Just a Girl.” The set culminated with a full crowd singalong of “Sunday Morning.”
The video was directed by Josh Roush, a Punk Rock filmmaker based in North Hollywood, CA, ad AntiCurrent Productions, coming in fresh from making their debut feature, Wrong Reasons. It features music from Tim Timebomb, X, Channel 3, L7, The Unseen, The Wipers, and his own bands, Bi-Product and The Overrides.
