If you want to see and learn more, watch Flavors of Romania on netflix. Made by a british journalist who moved here after Prince Charles introduced him to the beauties of Romania. Also, in the village of Viscri you can stay in the hotel-house bought by the prince to save. The prince invested a lot in conserving the local traditions and places. Cheers PS. Don’t you dare come to Romania without a drone! 😁
Trust me bro', is just 5% from what Romania can offer! You'll be surprised I live in London, but i'll be happy to do a tour in Romania with you! Just let mw know. Cheers!
One thing that should've been added is the big Music Festivals in Romania like Untold and Neversea Festival. If you're planning to visit, you should definitely consider coming to Cluj, Sibiu or Timisoara as they're both beautiful and full of culture. Cluj-Napoca is one of the fastest growing and modern cities in this countries hosting the biggest Universities, the Untold Festival, smart streets and a very well made public-transport system. Anyways thank you for reacting to this Video, I hope that you'll visit us :)
Romania values traditions a lot In an eventual visit you wish to have in Romania, if you're into historical places you gotta visit medieval citadels and castles from here like Neamt, Rasnov, Peles, Bran (bran is the one which had the legends about Vlad Tepes or Vlad the Impaler who inspired the character of Dracula) etc and also the citadels from before Christ like Histria or remainders of Tomis at Constanta. There are also many memorial places and buildings, such as houses that belonged to great writers or historical figures, or buildings that tied into certain events. Churches and Monasteries are another big thing, as some leaders from medieval times were said to have raised a monastery or church after each of their victories against opposing peoples. Some of those are Cozia, Voronet etc. The Carpathian Mountains also have incredible stuff within them: beautiful resorts, great food, hiking trails, some incredible caves, and some other odd attractions like what we call "mud volcanoes" and some rock formations and others. The Danube as an entirety of what goes through Romania is incredible. From "Portile de fier" (translated: iron gates) which are big water powerplants using the Danube all the way to Sf. Gheorghe the Danube is a great spectacle, especially the Delta. Talking about rivers, bodies of water and mountains, Balea lake and the transfagarasean and transalpina roads have some incredible views. Tradiotional suits, those you said were worn by the Osoianu sisters, are today more specific to rural areas but are great parts of folk culture, as they are part of Romania's rural history, when cities weren't as big, a time (around world wars im not sure but there are many books which realistically cover village life then, which im studying right now for the big exam at the end of highschool, "bacalaureat" as it is called) when it is said that everyone in a village knew each other and that they would gather in a market or plaza and sing dance and talk news dressed in those costumes, which also i forgot to mention are specific to regions and genders. The palace of the parliament is another stunning thing here, it being the second largest building in the world by volume, and the largest by the surface it has on land. and yet, with all the great stuff said in the video you reacted to and from this comment, Romania has some great issues from an economic, infrastructural and preservational point of view as economics over here are not so great, illegal deforestation is another unchecked big thing and certain parts of the infrastructure like some railroads, highways and normal roads + more are in a not so great state From the video: you can translate "ciorba" as "broth", yes they are somewhat soups but they aren't as they have sour stuff in them, usually borsch From the video: "sarmale" are meat rolls coverd with cabbage (pickled or fresh cabbage can be used) From the video: "Corvinilor Castle" refers to "castelul Corvinilor" which is better translated as " Castle of the Corvins", Corvin being the name of a dynasty from what i can remember
Your channel has been such a nice breath of fresh air right now. With everything that has been going on in past years, romanians have a really bad name in today's world. Everything from being called gypsies to thieves to a third world country, the hate that spewed from the west towards Romania has brought our spirits down. And of course just like all human beings, the hate projected outward, in romanians talking bad about the west, about the UK specifically. (Romanians going to the UK to work has become a meme in it of itself in Romania). Along with globalization and everyone being expected to know some english, interest in other cultures have declined. Therefore, everytime romanians hear something good said about them, it starts being a national holiday. At least in my perspective your channel is a textbook definition of how our interactions could be, and how much we could collaborate if people would take the time to learn about us rather than blindly insulting us. With that said, you have my deepest thanks and utmost respect for being interested in our little corner of the world, your romanian is actually preety solid for a native english speaker( Uk tourists trying to pronounce our language is a bit of a meme too, but this one in good heart) and if you come here most people would appreciate immensely legitmately trying to speak since here it is a sign of respect. Hope your interest in our country continues and that with time more people like you wil come andl make the effort to know more about the smaller cultures that are being left aside, not just Romania. Mulțumesc pentru tot!
when you visit you should do a vlog. I'm sure your subscribers can help with list of stuff do to and visit. a road trip from mountains to the sea side springs to mind :D
All your reactions on Romania are awesome ! You make many Romanians feel really good, believe me! Also, if you do visit Romania, also check out Sighişoara and Cluj! I've been there before and I've enjoyed every second spend there😄 stay safe and greetings from Romania! Oh btw- you greeting us in romanian was awesome😂❤🇹🇩
I woul add to the list: not only Bucharest but other beautiful cities like Cluj, Brasov, Timisoara, Sibiu, Alba Iulia, Sighisoara, Iasi; summer festivals like Electric Castle, Untold, Neversea or Summer Well; salt mines like Turda or Praid; the glacier Scarisoara; next to Transfagarasan road, also a trip on Transalpina road; the Danube Gorge; the many wineries& vineyards
The easiest way for you to visit all Romania and to have a good guide is to have a Romanian friend or girlfriend 😂.. to visit all this places it may take you months so better have a good helper! Thank you for promoting our beautiful country 🙏
Even me didn't know how beauty my country is , and the fact that people from other countries love it , makes me fell more happy 😍😍😍 Some people choose to visit other countries , when their own country is a gold mine and they don't even know that
If you visit Romania, you should definitely go to Corvin Castle in Hunedoara it's amazing i live in the city where it's located. In 2019 the record of tourists was like over 400.000. Btw glad i found the channel nice recomandation. Good day sir
In the first 3-4 minutes there are also images from neighbouring countries like Hungary and Bulgaria. We love our Bulgarian brothers but I don't think there's any corner in any Romanian town to have a sign-post pointing towards the Bulgarian cities of Ruse and Stara Zagora (02:28) 😁😁
The Romanian flag appeared after the French Revolution and was inspired by its values: Freedom, Equality, Fraternity. However, as our realities were different from the French ones (Romania does not exist, there were three countries under foreign control) in the first phase we went on the idea of freedom (blue) and brotherhood (red), plus another color, in Moldova and Wallachia was yellow representing honor, in Transylvania it was originally white. Around 1848 the flag was written on it "justice and brotherhood" and a little later the military ones I think were inscribed with "honor and homeland"(Honor et Patria - and is also in use as motto of Ministry of National Defense ). Initially the colors were horizontal, blue / freedom was high and an ideal, yellow / honor was in the middle and red / brotherhood / nation. After we became an independent state, the colors moved vertically with blue near the flag spear.
You should visit Brașov, there's the Dracula's Castle and there are the Bucegi Mountains , that's my favourite city in Romania, even if I live in Bucharest.
Just come in end may-june(spring for many flowers and very green landscape) or in the first days september when autumm take place and see the various colours of trees in the wild landscape.
what i have seen here, so far, it is true but far from all, i would remember salt mines, moldavian monasteries, roman road, sibiu as a city, brown bears ,and many more. probably, to show most iconic places in romania, you need more than the length of that video.
Subcarpat = Sub+Carpati. Sub means under and Carpati are The Carpathian mountains. So a rough translation of the band name it will be Under Carpathians. Also Subcarpati is a relief unit who representing the hills of each side of Carpathians.
What u seen from this video is maybe 5-10% from Romania's beauty...is a lot more to see then what seen in this video..a lifetime wouldnt be enough to visit all beautys of romania..cheers bro i like youre videos..#VisitRomania
React to Untold 2019. Untold it`s romania`s biggest festival. We also have Neversea ( at the Black sea) and Electric Castle. Also, search on youtube "flying the nest romania". They are a family from Australia who spent 10 days in Romania. You can see their experience.
If you really want to taste Romanian food you have a lot of restaurants in London where you can go and enjoy the food. Don't think they're open now in lockdown but when the lockdown ends preety sure they're open.
We got blue on flag because our clean sky We got red on flag because this means the red is the blood of our wariors who lost their live in wars And yeloow is the semnification of our force , money and our wheat.
As a Romanian I am proud of my country and if you want smoky landscapes come to the commune of Tatarusi County Iaşi here we have some amazing landscapes I will be your guide
Fun fact: palace of parliament is the most expensive administrative building in the world, the heaviest one, and 2nd largest building after pentagon, peace
If you're coming to our mountains, be careful. We have the biggest population of bears in Europe. Lots of tourists venture in hidden places and end up killed by bears. Just a safety tip
the video you've watched don't really mention moldavian parts of Romania. You should not skipp them. CEAHLAU mountain is just incredible. BICAZ CHEI will leave you speachless. For theese 2, I suggest you google some pictures...you will want to come right now. The city of IASI is beautifull, with a lot of history. The moldavian monastery and churches have an unique architectural style, not found anywhere else - and they are painted outside and inside . VORONET is the most faimous, but you will find a bunch of them - Sucevita , Moldovita, Agapia , Varatec , Sihla, Sihastria, Dragomirna Dobrovat... they are like 40 of them. There are several defence castle, most in ruin now, but you can really learn a lot visiting them.If you want a castel that are still lived in , PELES a must see. There are some balnear establishments, around natural mineral waters . - BALTATESTI, BORSEC, and ofcourse , Tinutul DORNELOR. - you can find theese in rest of the country too- Felix, Herculane . There are some salt mines that are absolutly fantastic, PRAID SALT MINE is my favorite, but there are several. TURDA is another popular salt mine in Transilvania .
