  • Craft fur is awesome stuff! It moves wonderfully in the water, and has some great colors and properties for fly tying. However it can be tricky to get used to preparing it for tying in. Many people do it the wrong way. This is a very simple and quick video on how to prepare craft fur. Back to the basics type of video.

Hard to explain over this, but... there are 3 common ways to fish a streamer. To strip it (you create motion) to swing it (use the water to move the line and your fly) and go dead drift (where it moves with the same speed as the river kinda like nymphing). Generally with swinging and stripping you wanna get your fly to pockets across the other side of the river. Then swing down through the run, or strip across it. With dead drifting, fish it just like a nymph rig. With an indicator or high stick style. Through runs and on the seams.

Yes thats true, up and down. I was thinking river fishing, sorry. On a boat, in a lake, you can jig for sure! :)
