  • @johnnypenso9574
    @johnnypenso9574 Před 3 lety +2

    I've watched 3 reviews on these two clubs this morning. Two, including TXG, were raving about it. The other, a rather popular YT'er, was not very impressed with it. Just shows the importance of trying things for yourself and getting fit. If you can't get it into your spin and launch window, no driver is going to max out for you. That's where the fitting comes in. Great video fellas!

    • @bouckley9
      @bouckley9 Před 3 lety +7

      Gonna take a wild punt here that the popular YT'er is RS? I'd ask yourself this question, you're given a giftcard that fully covers a fitting experience with either TXG or RS. Where would you go? And is that decision driven by the quality of delivered information? For me it would be, and I'm consistently impressed with the insight and knowledge of TXG and how they are able to pass that to the viewers.

    • @johnnypenso9574
      @johnnypenso9574 Před 3 lety +2

      @@bouckley9 All names were shielded to protect the innocent...lol. TXG w/o a doubt would be where I'd go for a fitting. Rick is an entertaining buy but I watch him for entertainment only as he just skims the surface of things w/o trying to figure out the why. As a professional you'd think he'd be asking himself why a certain new club didn't perform even up to the expectations of his current clubs but he doesn't. He hits it and if it doesn't perform he's disappointed with zero further investigation.
      Back when he used to do iron reviews all the time, he'd be saying one thing on camera and the exact opposite would be happening on the screen. He'd create a landing area the size of a Volkswagen Beetle with 7 iron and then talk into the camera saying the clubs aren't forgiving and don't suit his game. It was baffling but it made for great entertainment!

    • @bouckley9
      @bouckley9 Před 3 lety +1

      @@johnnypenso9574 I agree, I tried to maintain the veil of anonymity by not fully stating who I thought you meant!
      I used to subscribe to him, but the same issues you mentioned, and a few others just turned me off. I understand he is much more of a 'content producer' and YT'er than a true golf fitting nut. After a while the videos just feel stretched to optimum Ad revenue length and the actual usable golf information is slim. I'm happy he's successful and wish him no ill, but if he's the dissenting opinion on a certain club, then I'm not going to hold that review too highly.

    • @lawrencebogar6136

    • @awp7662
      @awp7662 Před 3 lety +2

      Personally guys I don't get the attraction to RS? I find him pretty boring and uninformative to be honest. How he has over a million subs is beyond me, I have never for one second considered subscribing to his channel. In fact I have watched so little of his contact lately for those reasons. TXG is the only place to be if you actually want to gain some knowledge about golf clubs/equipment and how they can or can't work for you. Sadly people will watch RS review and see that he doesn't rate the new Titleist and take that as gospel. I have been pretty disappointed with Titleist last 2 offerings but I did try them for myself and know they didn't really work for me but hoping this time is different. Keep up the great work guys⛳🏌️💪🏼

    I currently play the 9.5* TS3 w/ a Diamana 70g White X-flex and right off the bat, you can definitely notice that the TSi3 (was hitting 9*) is lower spinning! Being that I typically spin my TS3 around 2200-2500, I'm not used to seeing the knuckling effect or the ball 'fall' out of the sky, which brings me to my question: What options are there to bring that backspin up a couple hundred RPM's? Would lofting up to a 10* increase the spin a touch? Or should I try a different shaft that is more of a Mid-Spin than a Low-Spin?
    Been waiting for this review and looking forward to the TS3 vs. TSi3! Keep up the great content!

      You're leaving yards out there. The older generation were not popular because they just didn't keep up with the ball speed differences with other brands. TS for Titleist was where they finally made an effort to modernize their designs.

      @@ianmock2 thanks for the reply! I'm not planning to get fit until next Spring, but I'd still love to see some dry ball data. My driver ss was 95.5 around the time I bought my 915D2, and I'm averaging around 230-240 of the tee with it now (Shotscope).

    $749.99 though boys! I have no idea how I’m going to be able to sell these the best two years 😂 can’t really argue those numbers though

    What’s the head weight on these? They gonna work ok with counterbalanced shafts?

      more details to come but we've heard you can order heads with higher weights if you want to build the driver a bit shorter, use a counterbalanced shaft, heavier grip, etc.

    Im new to golf. What exactly is a club fitting?

      Club fitting is a process in which a trained fitter creates a set of clubs that is perfectly matched to your swing.
      It really helps...it's just a bit pricey. The only reason I haven't done it yet.
