Most underrated Queens album! I love it, Someone’s in the Wolf!!!
The second half of the album is so good!
agree
Someone’s in the wolf summon spirits lol
My favourite by a quite a long stretch, IDK why, maybe just burned in. I fucking love Everybody Knows you're Insane and Tangled Up in Plaid, both have ridiculously abusive lyrics and Plaid also has that weird precise rhythm a bit like Leg of Lamb
@@agdgdgwngo I've always seen it as the pinnacle of qotsa. one of my favorite albums all time
Josh loves his epic outros. Some of his most epic ones are on Them Crooked Vultures. You'd love that album. It's Josh on vocals/guitar , Ghrol on drums and John Paul Jones on bass
I would totally support that being the next album to react to.
Also... Just do the entire Queens discography, cause every album is a banger!
In My Head and Little Sister are part of my childhood, played a lot of need for speed underground 2 and midnight club 3 listening to these musics
Same! They’re still my favourite QOTSA songs 👍
I have said for a while now that this is my favorite Queens album
Me when Nightwalk uploads two times in a week:
😮
My dad played this album my whole childhood but added go with the flow and no one knows so i thought they were on lullabies for 12 years 😂
"two Queens albums"
Please don't do Rated R dirty like that.
Jokes aside, so glad to see you back! Hope you're feeling better now!
Totally mispoke! And I loved rated R!
This Lullaby... it's just the most perfect use of Mark Lanegan's voice
Two of my favorite Queens songs, Skin On Skin and Killer Scene, are on the second half of this album, so I can’t wait for you to get to those. The whole album is awesome, though, and extremely underrated.
The guitar work on Killer scene is gonna blow his mind I can’t wait
What's the deal with Skin On Skin? I can't seem to like it even though I LOVE QOTSA. I've even bought the expanded physical version that comes to the DVD, but I always skip that song. Am I missing something?
Do people not like it?
@@elvisjsaxi think ur problem is being a virgin
In my Head is the most underrated queens song.
is the second most streamed song from that album
@@wayblu2799 well amongst queens fans it’s not talked about often, it’s also not really considered a classic like little sister or no one knows.
@@art7885 yeah that’s true actually, you don’t really hear it being talked about too much
Don’t know why some people are saying the back half isn’t as good, the consistency keeps up throughout the whole thing. One of their best albums for sure, can’t wait for you to experience Someone’s In The Wolf.
Killer Scene and Skin On Skin are amazing; I love the second half of this album.
Blood is Love is in my top 5 Queens songs.
Great reaction! I personally find this album to be slightly weaker than their other albums because of the second half, but I still love it to death. I beg of you, IF YOU FIND TIME AFTER THIS ALBUM PLEASE REACT TO ERA VULGARIS! It takes everything you would think of as "predictable qotsa" and crushes it.
Thank you!!!!
hell yeah, era vulgaris fucking slaps
I’m not the biggest fan of that lp but no Queens album is bad……rather than villains
@@art7885 Villains is def their weakest, but I wouldn’t consider it a bad album…
Yeah
He's back!!! Happy to see you again. I highly suggest getting around to Villains at some point! It's a very underappreciated album from QOTSA, and a great one too.
@@jager9022 Yeah thats so true, every Qotsa stan can't get over the fact that Mark Ronson produced it i guess... also, The Evil Has Landed... Damn.
the blood is love will fucking blow you away
YOOOOOOOO NEW REACT LETS GOOOOOO
The front end of this album, This Lullaby -> Medication -> Insane -> Tangled Up in Plaid, is just legendary.
I'm really looking forward to if you do Villians. It's one of my favorite albums and I honestly don't think there is a bad song on it. Love your work!!
I've not listened to Queens before - thanks for the introduction!
I've waited so long for this.
Welcome back! Happy to see another reaction video ☺️
I'm so glad you like this. Can't wait for part 2!
Great video! I always love it when you comment on details that I never noticed.
Ay yes!!! Im so glad you're reacting again keep up the great work dude :)))
I love how I can experience my first listen memory through you. Thx!!!
i love your reaction to this, hope to see more from you & qotsa!!!
I've binged your QOTSA videos and I'm discovering lullabyes with you and honestly it's becoming one of my favorites right now
Nice video! Glad to see you posting again, hope you’re doing well :)
My boy, it's good to see you back with one of my favorite albums of one of my favorite bands. I'll be waiting for part 2
Please, part II asap! Your reactions, specially of QotSA, are amazing!
Your enthusiasm is bringing me up out of depression
Hey there! Love your videos. Nice reaction here today. Love it. Keep doing your best!
Looking forward to part 2. And if or whenever you get to their self titled album.
Love your Ganesha shirt dude
This used to be my favourite album before i heard Like Clockwork, it was the first QOTSA album i listened back when i was a kid. I love the athmostphere, the darkness, and the pacing is sublime, each song pulls you into the next one.
PD: i think the muddy production is on porpuse, it gives off that darkness
I’m excited for you to react to I Never Came and Something in the Wolf, two of my favorite QOTSA songs
My favourite QOTSA album. That first half is amazing music. Can't wait to see the Broken Box reaction.
@@jager9022 I'm not sure if he will be crazy about Someone's in the Wolf. It is more metal than most of their stuff. I do like it but I find it and Skin on Skin just drag on a little too long. Broken Box however is a sexy strutting sneering slice of briliance
Loved the reaction, and it's great to see you're making videos again. Funnily enough, this is the Queens album that took the longest for me to get into, but now it's definitely in my top 3. Easily my favourite band, you should definitely check out all the discography as well as Hommes side project with Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones, the band Them Crooked Vultures as it is phenomenal
The man himself is back!
I love Josh's guitar tones, he's a wizard. He also plays through a bass amp which adds so much to the sound
Yes! always happy to see QOTSA!
When you go through enough of their albums to get a feel for their range though, you HAVE to do a video on Them Crooked Vultures. I'm sure someone has suggested it before, but its a supergroup of Josh Homme from Queens, Dave grohl, and John Paul Jones from Zeppelin. Absolute 10/10 of a record
Love it. Thabks
I have a feeling you'll really like their self-titled, if you love thick dirty bass then that album is for you
i remember we got this album when it came out, and i was like wait this isn't like songs for the deaf :((( but after a couple of listens i fell in love entirely and this is one of those albums i can always come back to and never gets old to me
i feel you when it comes to the muddiness in the guitars - they definitely leaned into the guitars being front and centre this album, and i think that's why (josh focuses on really mid-range heavy guitars) but i think it serves to make the big brighter guitar parts stand out
Stoked to see your back man! Loved all your queens content. Maybe try Highly suspect’s “mister asylum”. Probably my favorite album ever and takes a lot of influence from bands like Queens and muse etc.
Absolutely love LTP! 2nd favorite for me behind Era Vulgaris. This was the album that got me into QOTSA and will always be special to me.
8:13 Absolutely yes! You should react to their performance of I Appear Missing at Pinkpop 2013. INSANE final jam
This album play excellent on repeat. It flows in and out so well.
One of the reasons it’s my fave qotsa album
It's my favorite album by QOTSA, creepy, dark, sexy, moody...and I think more adventurous musically than the previous records before it. Also BILLY GIBBONS FROM ZZ TOP is a guest guitarist on some of the tracks. Killer. Also Joe Barresi produced and MIXED this LP, so it feels a lot like his other work (Bad Religion and Weezer's Pinkerton come to mind). There's a bit of a "darker" texture to the mix...it's not "muddy"...just...lots of low mids to the edge of muddy.
I remember little sister music video on mtvs all things that rock at 1am that turned me on to this album. Been listening to them for 15 years now
there is no word in any language to describe how beautiful this album is
You also need to do Era Vulgaris! It's really industrial, but really cool!
Everyone is anticipating someone’s in the Wolf it seems... great song. But I NEVER CAME, The very next song on the album in this review (and also the blood is love which bookends Wolf)is probably my favorite ever by them. And there’s a lot of runners up for what it’s worth.. can’t wait for you to hear part 2 👍
Oh this album slays!!! Top Tier Queens album for my money.
What I love about Queens is that ever since I got into them with SFTD, each album has sounded not quite like what I was hoping for on the first listen, and then eventually I grow to love them in a totally different way to the last one
loved this man! is the second part coming anytime soon? anyways, keep up the amazing content! 😁
Looking forward to the second part! Would love to see you react to Era Vulgaris as well, also an underrated album. I would also like to see you react to Deftones new album, "Ohms".. Think you would appreciate it!
They do great extended jams in some of their gigs. I'd highly recommend QOTSA Belfort 2005 :)
Would love to see you react to a Foo Fighters album or Them Crooked Vultures
I agree that there's something about the production on this album that I'm not crazy about. There's great songs on it but I find I don't return to it as often as some of the others. It is possibly just a bit too long also. That said, Broken Box, I Never Came, and You've got a Killer Scene There Man are all awesome so I'm looking forward to part 2!
Josh is the m*therf*ckin god of fell in luv 4 dessert sound 🥰🥰🥰
You gotta do their Self Titled album. Only then will your training be complete. Ive seen them play this album live and its truly their best.
My favorite from them personally
Love seeing you back. Only react videos I enjoy apart from Brad’s
Dude. FINALLY. I subscribed to you just for QOTSA
hey great review! Is there any chance you could please also review the (often neglected) song, 'Like a Drug' which was the bonus track on this album? Thanks!
if josh want a soldier im here to serve myself, just make lullabies 2 pleaseeee🥰🥰
Oof. Let’s go!🤘🏽 Era Vulgaris next?
this is my favorite QOTSA album by far.
Tangled up in plaid is my favorite of this album though i love "you've got a killer scene there man" simce its super Moody
I knew Qotsa from Nfs Underground 2 game with song named "In My Head" and that song was and is still my jam.
Those days i was not a good music listener like i am now. After many many years i tried to dig into more of this band but i could not somehow (probably mostly cuz of my laziness)
Now with you i definitely want to start from this album, cuz it sounds fucking amazing!
Creepy, dark, sludge, dirty, heavy, catchy, energetic, emotional..
All are in one album.
Btw if you dig into this kind of stuff you can check out the band Kyuss and other bands like them (stoner rock/metal is the only keywords you need)
Kyuss is previous band of Josh Homme.
benimle aynı şekilde band'i keşfetmişsin. bende nfsu2den buralara geldim, 2 senedir grubun her türlü çalışmasını yaladım yuttum ezberledim. lullabies da mükemmel bir albüm, önerebileceğin lullabies tarzı albümler var mı?
There's definitely echoes of 'Go With the Flow' with 'In My Head'
Yea "in my head" was on desert sessions 9 which came out around the same time as songs for the deaf
Also "in my head" was originally called "in my head or something"
Yed please more queens cant wait for someones in the wolf
Do some Foo Fighters, I think you’ll love them!!
Echoes, silence, patience and grace may be a good one to start with, or The Color and the Shape
Fucking killer rock album by a fucking killer rock band 🔥
easily 2nd favorite album
Also i want you react more albums
For more modern stuff i can suggest you:
Moses Sumney- Aromanticism
(A black dude with amazingly beautiful falsetto using since Jeff Buckley and beautifully arranged jazz and electronic oriented songs)
Bloc Party- Silent Alarm
(a post-punk revival band with a Jonny Greenwood clone lead guitarist, a black dude who sounds like a white guy, a bass player who can take control in songs like Positive tension and a nerd looking Asian drummer who can surprise you with tricky hi-hat playing)
The Strokes- Is this it
(The most handsome group of all time LOL, seriously every member of this band are handsome guys)
(It contains a latino hybrid drummer who has very unique tone on his drums, a singer who uses distortion effects on his voice all the time, a bass player who looks like an old noble, a bonus headed guitar player who can soloing your ears, a very good rhytm guitar player who has a guitar sounds like a snyth)
You definitely need to look at these albums with us buddy
Lullabies was mixed dark, it's the sound I guess
Please react to Queens album Era Vulgaris!! Soo many groovy songs on the album and they are really cool to check out live too. Highly recommend, one of my favorite albums! 😊
You need to go looking for the Desert Sessions - Josh Homme has musicians out to a ranch where they jam and record this. THe only person I know for sure has been out there with him is PJ Harvey
I feel nothing. Am I better yet?
I now you don't worry much about lyrics on these but that part of Everybody Knows You're Insane is one of my favorite in all of music.
Would love you to react to some sabbath albums if you haven’t really dived into Sabbath Bloody Sabbath or sabotage.
Also if you haven’t listend to Era Vulgaris by QOTSA you need to do the deluxe version for the song The Fun Machine Took a S$&@ and Died
Era Vulgaris next?
Can't wait to see you listening to Era Vulgaris... Please don't take so long to listen to it lol.
With the "muddiness" your describing on the guitar i think it's double tracked. Most prominent on medication and In my Head. Josh Homme is a master of guitar tone, make sure you check out Kyuss. It's not on a level of musical competency as Queens but there's groove, awesome riffs from Josh Homme playing in C tuning through a bass amp. They always had an absolutely shit hot bass player and drummer too. The downside is Josh doesn't yet sing in Kyuss, John Garcia is great but much more of a standard rock/metal singer.
Please do villains next please
Kyuss when?
Did u cut the video?
Cuz last time i watched this, it wasn't short like this.
Have you reacted to Pink Floyd?
ERA VULGARIS, PLEASE
can you just do every queens album?
5:57 SH-eEeEeEe
Heh, wait til you get to someone’s in the wolf :)
I think he got what he wanted
In Sides Orbital...
Forgot how front loaded this album is lol
This is a 🔥 album but BOI WHEN YOU GONNA CHECK OUT PABLO HONEY AND FINISH THE RADIOHEAD REACTIONS? dont listen to the haters, its also🔥
Can I recommend a song if you want to make a react?
Stoned Hare - Rabbit Hole
(It's a brazilian band)
Listen to Era Vulgaris next! Robot rock!
BUT I NEVER CAME
Still waiting. Is it because it's November?
