- This is how I make homemade hash browns from scratch on the blackstone griddle. Awesome blackstone griddle recipe and super easy to make after everything is prepped. Probably one of my top 10 favorite Griddle recipes. These were restaurant style hashbrowns!
1 russet potato is all you need
Put a generous amount of butter down with oil
Put the hashbrowns down and let them cook for at least 5 to 7 minutes before flipping and repeat.

I cheat, I make up squirt bottle with a half a cup of canola oil and a stick of butter, melted, shake it up. This is really good for hash browns, fried eggs, fried mashed potato / salmon patties.
Canola oil is poison to the body and also motor oil in ww2. Learn some information about what your cooking with. You will live longer.
Use avocado oil brother! Way better than seed oils
@@raritica8409what about olive oil
@@thesliquifier1381 Olive oil is great, but not the best for cooking with high temperatures make sure to get the real virgin olive oil, check ingredients.
You should consider using coconut oil instead of canola oil it's healthier for the heart. Canola oil is one of the worst oils to use along with vegetable oil. 😊
You make it so simple thank you Don't stop , showing your skills.
My mom used to make me a big plate of just hash browns for dinner! It was my fave. I’d also have a side of fruits and vegetables of course. But my main dish was the hash browns. Miss them so much..
I'm making Easter breakfast tomorrow morning. I'm going to try to make these hash browns. Followed by bacon, sausage, eggs. My father-in-law is making his pancakes from scratch. We'll be eating good 😊
I really appreciate the recap on how you made the hashbrowns I thought that’s how you did it but I wasn’t exactly sure so thank you for that
Great video, I was always wondering how one gets those nice crispy hashbrowns. I know butter is the secret now, thank you!
I'm starvin!!
That’s a simple one you can even do in a pan!
Lol right… guess what I’m making right now…

Best hashbrowns I've ever cooked, thanks for sharing and the details on cook temp and time.
Okay making them based on ur comments
Hash browns compliment just about anything.
Thank you buddy. Been cooking breakfast for my parents all week and gonna make these tomorrow. Thanks you!
Looks great. I use the frozen package of shredded hash browns but I definitely can see a difference with your way.
Simply Potatoes is the perfect middle ground. Not frozen. I've made hashbrowns by scratch and it's not even the grating or peeling that's the worst part, it's getting the starch out and drying them effectively.
Frozen? Gross
Too many preservatives in frozen hashbrowns.
Looks so delicious, been wanting to cook those hash browns that i've watched on drama/movies of US, i don't have such a big plates but gonna try to make by your way😊Thanks from japan.
I love mine just like that with an over easy egg is my favorite! 😋
Thanks I am try this....
Yup love that!
Thank you. I will definitely try these.
Will do this tomorrow morning thanks just baught a 4 burner and excited to do my thing on it
Thank you for giving us an exact temperature instead of something vague like "medium high"!
Gracias por su receta mi comida favorita mmmm se mira delicioso Dios lo bendiga
Wholesome stuff, man.
Thanks! My air fryer ones were a disaster. So I'll do it this way.
You blew me away when you showed their homemade. Incredible color nice job
Thanks Ron! I’ve heard the dehydrated ones you can buy in bulk from Sam’s club are a pretty good as well and they feed a lot more people with a lot less work
@@GriddleGrub Good to know I’ll have to check those out next time I’m there I haven’t done hashbrowns yet
That’s the point of making the video and the title stupid comment…
Griddle hashbrowns are the best, great job.
Yes they are!
Thanks for the hash brown lesson . 😋
Thank you just subbed , and about to try right now ❤️❤️
Wow!!! a little cheese sprinkled, eggs and some bacon! We be cookin with Pnut oil! lookin good hoss
That wouldn’t be bad at all! Thanks for Watching!
You made authentic hash brown potatoes this is very easy but when we flip that off that time liitle hard so we should practice of that however i agree the butter is the key thanks.
That was huge! Thank you!
Thanks for the recipe and I love the griddle pan, so dope❤
Thanks brother, I am cooking mine today
Excellent video!
Finally! Someone explaining regular hashbrowns. No eggs, no milk, no cheese, no flour, no exotic herbs, no jugs of oil, no freeze-dried preprocessed potatoes, no onions, no kiwi, no bananas... just regular potatoes and butter.
Thank you.
Waiting for my plate!😜
Lol these didn’t last 2 minutes after the video
@@GriddleGrub and I can see why!
Just hold the spoon on the hot pan for a couple of seconds and it will slid right out of the spoon. 👍
I all so pre-cook some onion green or white nicely chopped. Make up a salsberry stake with add pepper and salt to your minced meat and some of your shredded potato cook your meat patties on one side of the oiled and buttered pan and the hash Browns on the other side mix some gravy mix in a saucepan when the meat patties and hash browns are done set them to one side and fry a couple of eggs in the preheated pan. When the eggs are done place the hash browns on a plate with the patties and top with the eggs and sauce
Great video man… perfect for what I’m craving right now… when done I like to crack a couple eggs right onto the browns and cook it all together… hell yeah…mouth watering…lol
Love your videos. Thank you!
Thanks Joel! If you ever think of anything you’d like me to cook let me know and I will make a video on it if I’m able. Thanks for watching!
Don;t forget the onions and cheese..... Scattered, smothered & covered FTW
Ty
For large crowds i buy dehydrated hash browns at Sam's. Just soak them in hot water for 12 minutes and it's enough for around 40 to 50 people.
I’ve heard about those but I still have not tried them. I’m going to see if they have them at Costco and give that a shot because I’ve heard good things.
Nice and simple!
Yup!
Thank you!
You’re welcome!
Those look amazing
great technique 👍🏽
I use the Hungry Jack hash browns out of the carton. They are restaurant quality!!
Never used those but will definitely try em!
Thanks for the video 💪🏽🔥
For sure!
Nice & easy. I’d like to see some salmon steaks done your way
Got it down!
I know I'm a year late - but can you name the tune behind the potato shred & rinse?
Outstanding Taters!
It’s called Downbeat
Looking great!
Scattered-Smothered-Covered !
Yummy definitely I’ll try them 😋
Nice looking hash browns. Makes me crave some with gravy on top 😂
My favorite way to eat them!
Nice!!!
Was that a blue mechanics paper towel you used to dry the potatos? XD i've never seen that before but oml thats so clever
OK..got one for ya. Since I have a Portillos opening up a couple of miles away in a few weeks, show me your version of an Italian beef on the Blackstone. I've never seen anybody make one. I know how they're made, so you might have to do some thinking with this one....:)
Oh I’ve been thinking about this for months! It’s been on the list but not sure how I’m gonna do it.
@@GriddleGrub I hear ya..not that easy. I'm sure there's a simple way if you don't overthink it or make it how it's "supposed " to be made....IDK..maybe some leftover beef, grill some peppers, a pot with beef broth...you'll figure it out...lol
Looking good buddy, now you just need some booths and a waitress for your garage!
Thanks Johnny! That bite I took was the only one I got before my daughter snatched them up.
What type of oil do you recommend to cook the hashbrowns?
Where did you get the spatula?
Hashbrowns are the reason I never got rid of my Salad Shooter. LOL
I'm surprised that he didn't put onions and garlic in the hash browns. I'm going to make them with onions right now.
What is the name of that metal cover you put over them? I need one of those for when I melt cheese on meats as well.
How can I do this without butter or oil? Can I bake it?
Does it need to be real butter?
I love hashbrowns. But, where's the ketchup? I used frozen, freeze-dried, and fresh, depending on what I have. Fresh is my fave. Good job!
The wife was making sausage gravy to put on it but I like hot sauce on mine!
Did u season it??
Nice..
Did you add lemon to keep them from turning color?
You can actually use a rice presser to remove the liquid.
AM MAKING ITTTT❤
Mines fell apart..nooooo
Same 😞
What seasoning did you put
Where can I get an extra wide spatula like you have ?
Mine was on clearance at target and they don’t make it anymore but I think you can still find the new version at Walmart. Or maybe Amazon. Thank you for watching!
Ron you all good buddy ????
Don't use salt ?
Will bacon grease work as well as butter?
Yeah I’m pretty sure it will. And it will taste GREAT!
Bacon or sausage drippings were what we cooked our hash browns and eggs in growing up.
I’m looking for the griddle temp?
300 k thanks
The 1st video I saw where the shreds were par boiled for 1 minute 1 st- they turned out grey
Other video saying use frozen potatoes cuz their work better you use a fresh potato and it looks awesome thank you for sharing
Where did you buy the cooking cover?
Got it off Amazon. I just added a link for it to the description. Thanks for watching!
So when would you put the cheese and onions on?
right? Scattered, smothered & covered FTW
That looks wonderful
Thanx bro
What about egg rolls
O
You didn't really explain anything. How much oil? what temperature? Seasoning?
I'm new here my friend 🍻
Question are you cooking in a garage or something?
When you find time come watch my Blackstone my friend ..
Yes, I have my set up in garage til it warms up out there!
Welcome to the community! Look forward to the videos.
I can't even boil water without burning it 😫 ! Can you just share some of that with me ?
I would trust this man to make me a good hash brown, thank you bald beard man.
You are welcome good sir
Make the mac attack burger
No salt , pepper, ketchup?
Need some onions in there too.
What is the purpose of rinsing the potatoes off and then drying them off? Why not just skip that step and cook them right after shredding the potatoes?
Get all the moisture out, it’ll cook better, not soggy
I learned the answer the hard way lol@@anthonymartinez8347
Those do look tasty! Hey, we are doing a collaboration with a bunch of other griddle channels for the entire month of May. #getloadedfries. Loaded French fries. We would love to have you participate. Loaded fries will be our theme all month, so we thought “let’s bring some others along for the fun!” Let me know if you can make it. #getloadedfries.
I mean loaded fries sound AMAZING! How does one participate? I’m always down for French fries of all kinds!
@@GriddleGrub pretty simple. Make a video with French fries topped with your favorite toppings. Just add #getloadedfries to the title. Can be any kind of fries. Sweet potato, crinkle, tots. You pick. We have a pretty good group forming. Post it any time in the month of May. It’s a fun way to get to know other influencers and pick up a few new views and subs. Looking forward to what you put out. Again, #getloadedfries in the title. Let me know if you have questions. Thanks for participating. Let’s have some fun!
Take the moisture out....oooh. Thats probably what I have been doing wrong.
Yup that helps a ton with these kind of hash browns.
The real secret was that towel wrap.
get a griddle for hash browns or get yourself an iron skillet
Now I have to go out and buy a Frisbee and attach a stick to it..
Parathas
Bakes better cast iron/ open flame
