After installing my tablet holder I ran a smooth line of black RTV silicone along the seam of the holder and factory plastic to seal it. The double sided tape just did not seal or stay on. The RTV makes it very waterproof from front and side splashes and it hides the gap between the holder and the other plastic very well.

Marauder Mitchelli not this one, this is a old tablet I had from like 4-5 years ago I’m still researching what one I want to go with for the x3. Seems like Android is the best because it has best gps, and then I can run lifetime trail maps which seems to be the way to go

I like that I-pad setup with the camera, I've got a backup camera kinda yours I got from Walmart that was planning on put to use with my truck but may try this also on the way I was planning on wiring it I think I can. Maybe inside the cubbyhole you could wire in another 12dcv power source for the I-pad or other things

What are the Better GPS apps for iOS? Really want one that can log save and detail new trails, autoroute existing trails, as well as import other community maps people have compiled labeled and detailed. Needs to be able to hold maps in local data when out in remote areas.
Anything specifically for iOS that does all the above? Any user generated options as opposed to subscription models?
Are there other key features people find useful or critical to that task?

@@BlownBudgetOffroad Unfortunately that seems to be many people’s advice, and lifetime trails avoidance to support iOS is probably not without reason with the way that ecosystem is set up and operates...but I really wish they would reconsider it seems like exactly what iOS Needs! There are multiple apps I have that navigate those waters successfully, one of the biggest examples being 3D scanners utilizing faceID. They simply make it very clear the device requires the hardware to function and offer “token functionality” for all devices to allow the application through the confusing maze that is the App Store. I feel they could likely do the same and offer a much needed core system for iOS devices with onboard GPS. that is every phone, and a lot of iPads that included the data package, as well as people with external GPS solutions.
But I am still looking for a solid iOS app that uses the internal GPS of my iPad mini as the basis for a mapping solution, and can expand its functionality if it can gather a data signal.
I would really like to utilize my decade of other apps to pair with a good iOS GPS system.

You guys are great and seem to be among the most knowledgeable, hands-on. Perhaps you can answer a question for me. I only have experience with ATVs. Just traded my Outlander 1000 XT-P for a 2021 X3 X DS. It doesn't come with a winch. I've looked at the bottom of the front and it doesn't seem as if a winch will fit there without some mod or perhaps the addition of a bumper. Yet a major ATV/UTV parts website says the particular model I'm looking at, Warn Axon 4500 with mounting plate will fit. Any ideas on that score? Thank you very much. Keep up the great work.
