Anyway to program so you can have the key in the ignition and lock the doors from the outside with the key fob? So you can warm the car up with the doors locked

To start the engine,, you will need to get laser cut (you must show old key.) Even after programming buttons will work to open close the door only.

This will work with s2000! Thank you I had a keyfob and random key in the stash box under the wind deflector and they weren't for the car. Put a new battery in the key fob and did this trick and now it works with my car!! You're awesome!

My 2006 Honda Civic key fob just split in half. The key alone started the ignition but it immediately stalled and a green key light was flashing. Remembered there was a manual override but forgot the steps. Found your video, taped everything back together and tried your method and it worked like a charm. You saved me a round trip cab fare to get my valet key. Much appreciated.

@@desertdogo This is the site I used to order a new shell and reprogram. I transferred the guts of my broken shell over and fit the key back in. Just put in the info on your own car.

I thought I would reply to this old comment in case anyone else has this problem. The reason it stalled is because there is a tiny hidden chip inside the key. It just needs to be near the key/ignition when you start it up. So when you taped it together you were just bringing it close enough again to disable this security feature. It's basically a way to prevent someone from picking your ignition and stealing your car.

Hey bro, gave the vid a like in 2023. It helped me big time as i just got my car out the shop today. Needed a new driver side console and motoe for controling the windows and stuff. The key fob was the only thing not working. With your vid, now it works!

This didn't work for me
Very helpful video. Worked for me. I had some issues because both of the keyfobs are inside the car. If you program the extra keyfob, original keyfob program will be deleted. Make sure you only have 1 keyfob inside the car while programming.
It worked for me too on the original, but I tried the extra with both fobs in the van, now the original and extra don't work. Tried to reprogram the original 4 times, still nothing. How did you get it back working? Help please

The key fob on my 05 civic just stopped working, I assumed it was the battery, when I purchase new batteries for it, it still wasn't working. Went on CZcams, I found your video, and I followed your instruction, and, and it worked 100%. Thank you very much, you saved me time money and stress

How did it work if the remote had no power?

The lock button and key to 2 position (four times) puts the car security into “program mode”. It’s important to press Lock once more on all the fobs you want to program (its the 5th click). I found this out the hard way, because I was programming a second fob. The original one stopped working.

Hey, thanks a million! My dealership would have done this for free, but, you saved time for both them and me! I'll add, that if you have multiple keys, have them all in the car when you program one, so that all will be programmed. It took me a minute to figure that out. :)

I have a 2011 crv where they key and fob are 1 piece and its all the same except I had to push the unlock button instead of the lock and for some reason had to do it 5 times for it to work. For some reason my original honda fob stopped working and this fixed it

I could hear the locks move when i did the key/lock cycle 4 times, but my key fob still does not operate the doors. I suspect there is a problem with the body module. Good video though.
I had been trying to program my 2006 honda element I finally go it after many hours. I was only able to program one. Maybe ill try to do the other one later if it's not too much trouble. The honda element is really hard to program I've only tried 10 times before i

After replacing the battery, my unlock button locks my car, and none of the other buttons do anything. Reprogramming does nothing. Has anyone experienced this?

Tried this with my remote for my 2006 Civic and no luck. I tried it with the lock button and the unlock button, with the doors locked and unlocked. Any ideas why it won't work? Just got this car and would be great to be able to use the remote.

This worked for my 2005 Honda Accord!! The only thing I noticed that the trunk release in the key fob doesn't work. Does anyone know how to get it reconnected to the key fob?

I did this several times and at the end heard the locks but after I took the keys out it did nothing. what could be wrong. The locks work from the door just not from the key fob.
