- A day in Monte Carlo is enough for sight seeing, unless you want to be in the midst of the glitz and glamour the city is famous for. For day trippers, a day is enough. The nearest airport to Monte Carlo would be Nice. By train or bus, it is very accessible, only 30-35 min and public transport in France is pretty reliable.
Monte-Carlo is the most famous of the Principality of Monaco's districts. It is a small Principality headed by the Prince of Monaco. But what it lacks in size it certainly makes up for in style. This is one of the most affluent spots in the world as well as being blessed with an abundance of nature. It's location is stunning, tucked between French medieval villages and the Alps. It is home to the celebrated Monte-Carlo Casino, Hotel du Paris and the F1 circuit. One of the best known areas of the principality is The Rock or Le Rocher- the home of the main part of the city called Monaco-Ville.
This is the place to come for the glitz and glamour, and if you fancy trying your luck then head on to the casino and unleash your inner James Bond!!

This was a really lovely video! Brought back lots of great memories. The first time I went to the French Riviera it was in 1985 when I was a Uni student. I loved how close together so many wonderful places were to visit. I finally got to go back with my family in 2014, and we stayed in a flat in Nice for a week. it was wonderful to go on day trips to so many places like Monte Carlo. I agree, the view of the marina from the top is stunning! Made a huge impression on me in 1985, and remained breathtaking! XX Dara

You do a great job of diving deep into a place as you've done here. It makes me realize we only scratched the surface during our quick visit to Monte Carlo and we need to go back. The Palace Garden is an absolute "must do" next time we are there.
I'm sure there's a lot more to do in Monte Carlo...we just went for a day so we were pressed for time. I can't stay longer as it was expensive😆
