You saved me from a teared film strip! Thank you!
My god, what a perfect instructional! Clear and to the point, great angles and sound, all that! Thank you so much.
Outrageously wonderful mechanical sound the advance lever and shutter release button makes in this film SLR!
Thanks for such clear instructions. The manual didn't explain this procedure very well.
Your instructions were super clear! I was a little confused by how to load with the wires so this was a huge help, thank you for the video.
I'm glad I could help. Enjoy your camera!
Thank you so much, for your clear and concise instructions. Just bought one of these cameras from eBay 😊
Just got an LTL on a whim at local thrift shop. I remembered my Family using "ye, olde cameras" back in the 90s. Very clear and helpful. Thanks.
This is the camera I “learned” photography on! Quite the clunka’ burnin’ love.
One of my favorite cameras. Noisy shutter, but an excellent handling camera! I currently have a Carl Zeiss Jena 50/2.8 lens on mine. The Practika MTL is also very good.. try hooking the film leader first, advance, fire again and then drop the cassette into its holder. Advance to 1 ans enjoy shooting! Good video.
My understanding is that when loading film with Praktica, one needs to set on “B” to prevent the shutter mechanism from jamming. I read it somewhere in an old manual. Yes, it’s the same loading mechanism for all Prakticas before the B series
I usually always set the camera to B while loading all my old school film cameras . Seems to work with no issues for me
Is there a way to unjam? I think this happened to my fujica 701, while loading. If you know anything to read about this, I would appreciate the knowledge.
@@zabtej1645did you manage to unjam it?
I have a my father's Praktica L and it was sitting for years because I did not find the info on how to do it, till now when I took it again and I finally found the way to unjam it on my own.
I'm new to your channel. I just inherited a Praktica ltl and am looking for instruction on how to use it and I also have zero experience with this type of camera. I've always been interested in photography and could never afford it. A close friend recently passed away and I received all his camera equipment. I really want to learn how to best utilize it. Please help by putting more videos for this type of camera. I want to thank you for everything. Great, simple explanations. Tyvm.
thank you!
Thanks! I hope I did it right.
My fujica 701 just failed (spotmatic level camera). Can you recommend another m42 body that is just as sturdy and simple? I don't need a light meter. I need timer, flash sync on top and pc sync on the body.
i have a praktica super tl 1000. i tucked the film under the left wire of the right spool. does that make a difference whether i tuck it under the left or right wire of the spool? The rewind crank on the left does rotate when I advance the film, so the film is definitely moving on.
If the rewind crank rotates as you advance the film, you're good to go.
@@BriansPhotoShow thanks for the quick reply and the reassurance
When I load, my counter stays at zero no matter what. So I have no idea if Indid this correctly.
Hi, I had a situation with LTL when images started to overlapping in the middle of the film. First 10-15 were ok, but after that first a little, then more and more overlapping. Wonder what might be the cause? Great vid otherwise!
Sounds like you're having some trouble with the advance mechanism. A good technician may be able to fix it.
This tutorial is great! When i attempted following it though, something went awry, and now i can't open the door with the rewind spool. Even when i press the release on the bottom! If you have any advice it would be a life saver!
I'm sorry but I'm not aware of any other method to open the back of the camera other than pulling up on the rewind crank. I wish I could be more helpful.
What film does this camera take? I’m new to photography and I have zero experience so idk if there’s like “one-size-fits-all” or if there’s certain measurements or what. Thanks! 😅
Any 35mm film
@@BriansPhotoShow ok thx 😊
Hello! My wind lever is not turning when im trying to load film. How can i fix it?
Sounds like your shutter might be jammed.
