The Spanish Empire - So great, its legacy went beyond human imagination. Grandiosa música, cuyas notas fluyen como un murmullo celestial.

This brings us back to a time when poeple's lives were (generally speaking) totally centered on their faith.
A better time for music and the arts
@@shkodranalbi lol based on what? The fact that a lot less people could actually listen to and play music? There has never been a period of time in global histroy that had more access to music...lol you can appreciate the music of the past without glorifying the fact that we exist in an age where we can actually listen to it still, hundreds of years later. Whereas 150 years ago, the only music you'd be able to get your hands on, was your local area, and it was played by musicians during special occasions.
@@CircumcisionIsChildAbuse Based on the music that was composed at the time and the pictures that were painted and the sculptures that were sculpted. I don't know how many people had access to music in Renaissance times (neither do you). But what you say about 150 years ago, is totally inaccurate. Today we have access to music, yes - it's great. What is promoted today, is mostly junk. The catastrophe that has befallen on painting, it would require a more than a few pages. I don't want to glorify the past - I am fine with the present; but if we want to compose great music and paint great paintings again, we need to regain the faith and spirituality that made it possible (in Europe) in the first place.
@@shkodranalbi um yeah, we do know, it's called musical history. And historical sociology. Household music wasn't very common unless you were wealthy and could afford a musical instrument. They weren't exactly mass produced like today, they were artisan crafts. Music only started becoming readily available during industrial revolution when things like the phonograph were invented. People have been banging on drums, chanting and singing for THOUSANDS of years. 150 years ago was the turn of the 19th century lol so not thats not inaccurate.
No, today we have GLOBAL musical connection as seen before in no period of history. We have access to music from every corner of the world.
What is promoted today is mostly junk? You say that as if almost every great artist, musician, writer, or scientist was appreciated in their time, and the fact that people haven't been saying that for every single generation that has ever existed. You know what they said in the 1800s? oh the music of the 1700s was better. What they say today, music in the 200s were better, or 90s, or 80s, or 70s, and so on. It's pretentious and obnoxious to think you have some kind of unique perspective on music if you're that immediately dismissive about an entire modern age of music lol where music has never been stronger and people can sing about whatever they want without fear of prosecution.
tragedy that has befallen art? You mean the fact that its no longer monopolized by overly wealthy religious denominations? Where artists no longer spend decades of their life on one piece and become agonized by it and have no choice but to accept the project? The ultimate artistic oppression where artists weren't free to do what they want, they were forced to. You think Michelangelo enjoyed painting that damn ceiling? The Renaissance period was nothing more than complete religious control over the lives of everyone. Resulting in the forced production of cultural religiosity.
Lol oh yes let's bring back the faith and religiosity of the crusades and spanish inquisitions....let's go on those racist expeditions to grab some slaves or murder those damn heathens for being angry we conquered the land they've been living on for thousands of years. What a great idea. Hey how about we bring back those witch burnigs too. Those were nice. Bring back those blasphemy laws and all those REALLY creative torture methods for punishing blasphemers like cutting their tongues and impaling them and burning them alive in bronze bulls. Good idea.
Let's get some more really moving religious pieces like Francisco Goya...or all those nice paintings depicting plagues and disease and revolution and war.
I'm traveling through Northern Nevada right now while listing to this. I can only imagine what the Spanish explorers thought when they came through here. It's so inspiring....
I don't think the Spanish made it that far.... and I DEFINITELY don't think they were playing Lutes along the way.
@@dagomara8380 The original territory of Mexico actually goes at least as far north as Nevada's northern border and pretty far east, much farther than Nevada's eastern border.
So if that's any proof, they did make it "that far."
Thank you lot for educating me. I shouldn't have said something so crass without doing any research myself.
Although I still hold behind the Lute statement (though I wish for that one to be false aswell).
watch the movie "Cabeza de Vaca"... is good...
@@ChocolateMilkMage The Spanish made it to Vancouver Island.

Great description of this music too. Exactly what I've been looking for!
Lovely video! Tomas Luis de Victoria might be one of the best composers ever, although unfairly unknown
Beautiful music, & beautiful technique in playing by Jon Sayles - confident & sensitive enough to need no bravura embellishment. Although long prior to my own life, these songs sound like many that my family in Spain would sing amongst ourselves. Thanks to all.
Spain Beautiful place beautiful people had a special friend from their she was stunning.
Rivedere questi meravigliosi paesaggi dove sono stata accompagnata dal suono affascinante di una chitarra magica è davvero una gioia per le orecchie e per l’anima! Bravo!
Thanks, very delightful n peaceful to listen this, Spanish classical guitar music tune. Sounds good n light, very refreshing and relaxing, peace and calm the mind n heart. The scenes of nature are so amazing! Pretty great piece for all! Absolutely awesome!🎶🎸
Intresting to listen the music from times when Spaniards discovered new continent.
A momento of glory, twisted and corrupted by the enemies of España and the traitors around the empire.
@@luisrincon7086 The worst of those "enemies of España" had infiltrated the Court and Government. It is hard to imagine a worse enemy, after all, than those who took Sepúlveda's side at the Debate of Valladolid, insisting on treating the New World inhabitants like animals and ignoring the will of the King as expressed in the New Laws of 1542, even ignoring the Papal Encyclical Sublimis Deus.
Really, I do not understand why the Pope did not put Spain under Interdict. Spain fully deserved it for ignoring the Encyclical defying King and Pope. .
@@SpectatorAlius The Pope didn't put Spain under Interdict, because Sepúlveda didn't win the debate, The New Laws were NOT repealed… Also it seems that you misunderstood Sepulveda's oppinion: Wikipedia gives us a clearer explanation. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valladolid_debate « he argued that the human sacrifice of innocents, cannibalism, and other such "crimes against nature" were unacceptable and should be suppressed by any means possible including war. » more a (fanatic?) religious thought than a racial one I guess.

Ethereal, yes. And graceful. Particularly love "Riu, Riu, Chiu"" by Mateo Flecha.

As a fellow Spaniard myself, these beautiful musical pieces put in me in a delightful mood to reconquer what used to belong to the Spanish empire and reestablish catholicism just like my ancestors did before me.

(46:42) This rendition for me encapsulates Renaissance Spain. Holy. Horror. Inquisitive. Inquisition. Glorious creation. Indiscriminate destruction. Everlasting reach. Mortal weaknesses. I love this piece. It touches me. I can trace multiple lines on both sides of my family, from the US to Mexico to Spain, for over 600 years. I hits everything I love and hate, take pride and hold shame, about my ancestors who created the Renaissance by destroying a continent.
Esta música maravillosa, lo único bueno de esta era de porquería envilecida por la religión.
Hay que ser muy ignorance para escribir eso.

He is playing a spanish guitar.
@@jessmfp6043 More likely this music would have been played in a lute or a vihuela - a transition instrument between the lute and the guitar. The guitar was invented in the 17th century.
@@StuartMedinaMiltimore Totally agree. But, in this case, I think the performer is playing a spanish guitar, not a banjo.
