    A couple things I should probably clear up first:
    1:36 No, Sabah and Sarawak didn't join ASEAN separately, or anything like that. In 1961 they weren't part of Malaya, but by 1967 they became part of Malaysia (also no, "Malaya" isn't a typo)
    1:58 Yeah, I said "$2.5 trillion" while the text says "$3.0 trillion". I made a small mistake in the script, so the text is right.

      Not 1967 but on 1963. Malaya is the peninsular, aka Tanah Melayu in Malay Language. Malaysia = Malaya + Sabah + Sarawak + Singapore, but Singapore exit Malaysia in 1965.

      @risannd Před 4 lety +116

      Some Indonesians still sees Timor Leste as "ungrateful province". Nevertheless, most just let her go independent. Relations between two countries still good, since Timor Leste is still dependent on Indonesia for most of its resources and services.

    • @espedidosgs
      @espedidosgs Před 4 lety +31

      I understand that Timor Leste being a predominantly Christian nation that is geographically within an otherwise predominantly Muslim country which is indonesia is the very reason why Timor Leste is being sidelined by indonesia.
      The tenet behind ASEAN is acceptance despite diversity. It was finding unity in diversity and unifying strength in that diversity that led to the founding of the ASEAN.
      I personally therefore support Timor Leste being part of the ASEAN if it wants to but it is a decision for the ASEAN members to make and that decision has to be unanimous.

    As a citizen of an ASEAN nation (Myanmar), I find it hilarious that outsiders expect action from ASEAN member nations whenever there is some political issue in a member nation. Not interfering with internal political affairs of other member nations by any means is one of the basic rules of ASEAN. Although it appeared only in 2015, and still handles less money than Asean, the EEU might be more successful in establishing common policies between member states, as it is much easier for citizens to travel among them, get a job, study or start a business in another member state, and the EEU is likely to establish a schengen like free movement policy (which isn't even on Asean agenda). As for currency, it is pretty streamlined, since almost all the trade is done in rubles, while asean trades in dollars and that makes it dependent on external factors as well.

We just heard about it in school because for some reason schools need to do that. lol, my friend in university even thought that "asean" Is just a word in our native language that means "asia". He wrote it for our report about asian countries and that report requires us to write it in our national language (even though English is not our national language, usually we use English in universities) and I have to correct him for using asean.

      Jungwon Sriracha Kpop fans also do that. I listened to "Best Part" and saw alot, if not, MOST of the comments saying "anyone here after Jungkook said blahblahblah" and I don't get why people find Korean men hot, they look like women tbh. The only Korean guys I like are the average and not too feminine ones. It's annoying as well, especially if you dislike Kpop fans 🙃🙃🙃🙃 Besides, you may see alot of Pinoy Pride comments online but in real life, they're not applied. Like, most of us prefer imported products over local ones. And we find our own entertainment industry as boring, bland, cliché, not worth our time, so cheap, lame directing, lame actors, cringey, etc. I REALLY hate Filipino class and I know more English words than Filipino words, and it's easier to write and speak in English than Filipino. Because our language is so repititive. I participated in Quizz Bee yesterday and I wrote "Kautusang Pangkwataran" instead of "Kautusang Pangkagawaran" 😂😂😂😫😫😭
      Try to pronounce this.

      Jungwon Sriracha I don't really see any Filipino pride comments, just in Philippine-related videos like Filipino celebrities or Jollibee featured by channels with an international audience. Besides, we're already improving ourselves. Just take a look at Manila (not Metro Manila.) for example, or during the election last summer. Most political dynasties lost and new faces are seen in politics. Rome wasn't built in a day and you can't really see immediate effects. (Ok, maybe except for the city of Manila part.) I only listen to some Kpop songs like those two Momoland Songs and Kill this Love. I don't listen to any male groups. You should consider that as a good thing since they are helping the Korean economy by listening to your songs lol (Assuming that you're Korean.)
