    Excellent job, Andrew! I just moved to an additional rack 16, from my Series 3 hardware mixer (which I keep at home now!). This has been a big help in spotting the differences! Thank you!

      Yeah, Behringers have nice features and are very configurable, but build quality has been an issue. There's a reason why their motorized fader replacements come in a five pack :)

    Hey Andrew, I just found some of your video tutorials and they are really helpful. Can you do something to add to this one where you show how to use RTA to understand/change EQ settings and dealing with mic feedback on a vocal channel?

    The delay knob on the channel strip is to compensate other channels for some signal processors so different instruments line up.

    I know this video is old but I can't find an answer for this: If I have a rack Presonus 24R connected directly to a Mac via ethernet AVB - can I adjust the pre-amp gains and Phantom power on/off directly via Logic Pro X and record everything flat? Or do always need to be running Studio One? Logic records in AIFF (smaller files) and seems like Studio One records in WAV format, huge enormous files. I much rather use Logic to record everything flat. I always mix later. Thank you.

    Hello, Andrew!
    I appreciate all the tutorials covering the Presonus StudioLive 24R. I recently purchased a 24R, and your videos have greatly helped me understand the software!
    I apologize for the long comment; I could not find another way to contact you.
    That said, part of my decision to purchase the 24R was that my DAW of choice is Presonus Studio One 5 Professional. I was looking forward to controlling the mixer entirely from Studio One as an interface, as it seems like that is an intended design feature.
    I cannot figure out how to have Studio One be my primary control for the inputs and outputs. I have read blog posts, watched some tutorial videos, and have tried just about everything I can in the routing sections of UC and Studio One to no avail.
    It seems like this should be much easier; I imagine it's right in front of me, and I'm just not seeing it. I would love to get some feedback from you or see a video showing how this process works.
    I can receive a signal from the analog inputs into Studio One, but I cannot get things routed out the Studio One Main Output to then go out the 24R's XLR main outs or TRS outputs. It seems like UC is the only way to control the Main Output fader, and UC supersedes Studio One. I have interface mode enabled on UC and have the inputs and outputs assigned on Studio One's I/O menu. I'm thinking I must have something incorrect in the output side of things since I am not getting any output from Studio One.
    Any thoughts from Andrew or others are greatly appreciated!
    Zach

      @AndrewBellous  Před 3 lety

      Hi, Zach. Both UC and Studio One should be able to control the settings on your Rack Mixer. I would check on the output settings for your Main Bus. You can email me at pastor@fbcwoodstock.ca.

    Don't see the Link channel icon. When I try the App for the tablet it's also missing parameters.
    When I switch an Aux to Sub, it gets stuck there and it won't change back to Aux.

    • @AndrewBellous
      @AndrewBellous  Před 2 lety

      I don't have a video on that specifically, but you would connect the StudioLive III to the router using network cable, and then connect your mobile device to the same wifi, and it should be able to connect. You'll need to go to the settings page and allow access to the device, defining it's level of access. Click on the Gear Icon in the top right corner, and it should be the first tab.

    @seanoerl Před 3 lety

    Hello! Thanks for useful video! Could you help me to find out one fact, please? I'm thinking about buying StudioLive, because we need digital mixer and a stagebox in one device. But it's very important for me to have an opportunity for routing one audio source to two paths at the same time: 1) post fader signal with plugins, effects and levels - to our in-ear monitor system; 2) pre fader thru signal - to the FOH mixing console. For example, mic in analog input 1 sends to the analog output 1 and analog output 2, but if I'm changing it's level, compression or EQ in output 1 - there will be no changes in output 2 at all. Tell me, please: is this possible with StudioLive and Universal Control? Thanks!

    Can you recommend this mixer for small church?

    • @AndrewBellous
      @AndrewBellous  Před 2 lety +1

      Behringer x32 and StudioLive 24R are both good products, but if I was in a remote location, I would opt for the Presonus device. Their build quality is better, and more reliable. Less likely you'll need to have it serviced. But, with a rack mount mixer, that's less of an issue. On the full mixer model, there's a reason why Behringer sells the replacement automated fader strips in a 5-pack.

    We just got the 24R last year. I'm going to point our sound guys to your videos as they're very good.
    I'm wondering if there is any interest (besides me) of learning about the different types of busses (like matrix etc.), when they might be used, and things to watch out for.
    I also wouldn't mind you going over the ABCD bus mixes, and how they work. For example, can I have my 4 drums mics sent to A (not main) and then send A to main?
    Note: We have a building that's a little too small for our congregation. The reason I went with the 24R is so that we could have our main mix for the regular congregation, plus have a separate mix for our congregation that meets in the basement, mixed with an ipad. That way we didn't have to keep running up and down the stairs every time we wanted to change the mix for downstairs. We also have that downstairs mix being send to a camera to record video of the sermon, to a computer to record audio of sermon, and to the nursery.

      I'm glad the videos were helpful. With Covid, my capacity to make videos in my own time is stretched, and my personal CZcams channel has pretty much slowed to a crawl. I'll keep this in mind, but I don't expect I will have the bandwidth to address these matters until we're past lockdown in our area and life has returned somewhat to normal. My setup is pretty simple, and what you're describing is certainly possible, but I'd need to do a fair bit of experimentation and learning before I was able to put out a video that would be helpful to you on this topic :)

    • @AndrewBellous
      @AndrewBellous  Před 3 lety

      The 24R and the 32R are essentially the same mixer, but one has more channels on the unit than the other. There should be presets for channels built into each of your mixers, accessed through one of the buttons along the very righthand side. That's where you can recall stored presets, whether your own or the factory presets, as well as save a setup you've created for later recall.
