- The Natchez Trace Parkway drive from Natchez, MS to Franklin, TN was our route home from our Florida Winter Camping adventure. This is PART 2 of that adventure as we drive from Tupelo to Nashville on the parkway. We did the trip in 2 days and camped our first night at the awesome little free campground at Jeff Busby Park at MM193. There were many beautiful stops on our 2nd day including a hike at Jackson Falls Waterfall and the awe inspiring views at the Double Arch Bridge Franklin TN. After dinner at Loveless Cafe, Nashville, we still did not know where we were going to spend the night even though it was getting late in the evening. And storms were rolling in...
We decided to drive east of Nashville and found a camping spot for our Travato van at Cedars Of Lebanon State Park just east of Nashville. When we turned in for the night a little tired from the long drive that day we knew there was a chance of strong storms that night. But when we awoke the next morning we found we had slept through the Nashville tornado of 2020.

I think I sold my wife on this, especially the separate beds in the back. Alaska is our bucket list destination. Like you said, take your time to enjoy the view. Maggie is so adorable and funny to watch.

The trees are beech trees. Those leaves will fall off when the new ones come. The fresh green leaves are beautiful too!

The Trace is very pretty and the deer were thick! Weâve encountered spotty cell service too- even on the interstates driving across Tennessee. Itâs still worth going. That was a long day of driving and I know what you mean about just going on to your home. We decided to just go home early to SW Va from where we wintered in South East Florida just as the Gov put up the checkpoints on I 10 and I 95. Man the tornado came pretty close to you all. I agree Life is precious
The Nashville tornado was to close for comfort. We kind of felt like we were running out of good luck. After all that happen with Covid Iâm glad we decided to go on home. Live each day to the fullest.
We downsizing from our Class A to a sprinter van and planning to do this trip in the fall. Thanks for the inspiration and safe travels!

Iâm glad Iâm not the only one... you have to agree that the Natchez Trace doesnât even come close to Alaska. We miss you guys too, it does help being able to watch your videos. Owen keep saying heâs ready to come back to Alaska. We love your new van setup in the back it looks like itâs going to very versatile with a lot more living space. I have watched both your videos of Natchez Trace. My cousin and I went down to Topelo and spend the night and visised Elvis's birthlace. We started and The Loveless Cafe and made a round trip back home. I am subscribing to your channel as I love to watch people on the road traveling. If the weather had been better and the spring flowers blooming you would have enjoyed the Natchez Trace drive much better. While it is pretty drive, it can not even be in the same category with Alaska. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.

You will need to make this trip again someday and visit three of my favorite stops on the northern Trace: the Merriweather Lewis gravesite (near the campground you skipped), Puckett's in Leiper's Fork, and the Wichahpi Commemorative Stone Wall in northern Alabama. Glad you stopped at Loveless Cafe, another favorite spot.

We did the entire Blue Ridge Parkway this summer, we have daily blogs on that if you are interested. Itâs one of our favorite places as we live very close to it, but we had never drove the entire parkway, itâs a beautiful drive too.

What campground did u pass up before waterfall? We will be traveling with camper in tow on parkway in May headed to Tn from La and will need to stop over night preferably free spots.đ
I believe it was the Jeff Busby campground. The Natchez Trace Parkway manages three campgrounds along the length of the 444 mile Parkway. Those campgrounds are Meriwether Lewis at Milepost 385.9, Jeff Busby at Milepost 193.1 and Rocky Springs at Milepost 54. The three Parkway campgrounds are free, primitive, and available on a first come, first serve basis.

Are you two getting cabin fever yet? Such a peaceful and lovely video, (until the sad Nashville portion), I enjoyed the music choices and the walks! And, I really enjoyed watching Lynn preparing lunch in the van, for me it really enhances the viewer experience of living/traveling in your Travato. She makes cooking look so easy, do-able, and delicious! I will miss your weekly videos, but I'll be watching your Alaskan travels, since I'm a relatively new subscriber, and have much to catch up on! Hey guys that was amazing, the Trace is definitely beautiful. My first question was going to be how long the trip is but you told us right at the start. I loved the shot through the waterfall but the hike looked very wet and slippery.
