My son was musical too, and was hell bent on living the life he wanted. Now they're both gone. And I still play this song every year on their birthday.
Joey Ramone died 23 years ago today at the age of 49. He was a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, a punk rock pioneer and a Queens legend. The Ramones were a big part of my youth. Joey recorded this version of “What a Wonderful World” as he was dying of cancer. It was released on his posthumous album “Don’t Worry About Me.”
