  • Live at Bergdorf Goodman with Betty Halbreich. Join us for a special jewelry chat with the legendary Betty Halbreich. In her 45 years with Bergdorf Goodman, Betty has dressed legendary style ‘swans’ like Babe Paley, as well as countless celebrities including Liza Minelli and Joan Rivers, in addition to advising on the wardrobes of prominent series including Sex and the City and Gossip Girl. Betty has written two New York Times Bestselling books, Secrets of a Fashion Therapist and I’ll Drink to That: A Life in Style, with a Twist.
Betty discusses her friendships, jewelry and personal memories of David Webb, Aldo Cipullo, JAR and many other jewelers, as well as her (very strong!!) views on the future, jewelry her clients are buying including Silvia Furmanovich and Verdura, how to start a jewelry collection and much more!

I love Ms. Betty Halbreich! I enjoyed seeing Ms. Halbreich walking the 3rd floor of Bergdorf Goodman in the mornings and looking for clothes for clients before the store opened. Her commentary on some clothing she saw on the floor was hilarious. I love the humorous, honest, forthcoming Ms. Betty Halbreich.

Completely agree! She’s the best (and still walking the floor and commenting at 95+! )

Fantastic interview. I bet she'd guide you through the store and get to know you rather than dress you.

Thank you. Betty can do both, actually - I still wear everything she picked out for me. She’s as spectacular as she seems!

At some points, This woman is not tolerating the interviewer. 😂 Could be a generational difference, old school/old soul. The interviewer sounds similar to KC, but doesn’t seem even with the soft spoken tone, they’re always gelling. Amusing, funny lady. Sweet. ‘Been there, done that, no time for nonsense, all class. 😊

I find the interviewer condescending, dismissive, and opinionated. Off putting.

Such an elegant lady. But, I never understand how women covert jewelry. It is all so trivial in the game of life. Obviously I am not a great consumer.

Think of jewels as keepsakes of special moments like birthdays, weddings, and as heirlooms - maybe that will help!

I love jewelry. It is wearable art. I've collected antique jewelry for 40 years and wearable all of it.

Babe Paley wasn’t “extraordinarily beautiful.” This oft pushed canard is bizarre. She had style and grace but her face wasn’t even pretty.

Betty saw her in person, so her opinion is relevant.
