As a dramatist, this is an excellent comedy. Of course, on the surface this is good comedy however this film is actually a sophisticated satire that makes a social commentary through comedy. Satire is a genre that engages in serious socio-political discourse in a way that is entertaining however its message is often hidden within the context of the light-hearted plot, suspense, and the often lovable characters. Satire indulges in sarcasm, irony, and uses metaphor to great dramatic effect. In a nutshell, the person who put together the scripting, characters, props, scenery, and locale for this film is a mastercraftsman of Satire in the likes of Orwell's Animal Farm. The acting is impeccable. Nigerians are absolutely talented, indeed Africans when we pay attention to what we want to achieve. As always, if only the Nigerian political class evolves as much as our creative Prof, Nigerian would have taken its rightful place in the world. I'm happy that the giant isn't completely asleep. Bright and his cast still rouses the slumbering giant even if for a brief moment. Keep up the good work guys. More like this please!

It's time to document and record the rise of the creative industry in Nigeria. The industry we have now in Nigeria is way more advanced and continuously expanding beyond the usual narrow description of Nollywood. This is the time for books written by Nigerians and Africans about the growth of the creative industry in Nigeria. It's time to analyse the processes, the participants both the dominant and the upcoming creators, actors, directors, producers, musicians in fact everyone. We need these books to be painstakingly accurate, intellectually analytical, precise and detailed. We need these books now because if we don't, either westerners will tell our stories for us the way they derisively did in our history books. Someone once said, "since the lion is unwilling to tell the story of the hunt, it is only the hunter's tale of the hunt that gets told. Again, if we don't write these books time will erase from memory the great works of our creative professionals. These books, if and when they are written, should be studied in Nigerian and African universities the way we studied western drama books in those days at IMSU Theatre Arts Department. I hope the heads of arts and drama departments at Nigerian universities are reaching out to these behemoths of the Nigerian creative industry to give lectures and talks about the skills, mentality, knowledge and experience required to operate at the top in the industry. When I look at our creative professionals, I see a glimmer of hope that Naija will one day become the giant that it has so far failed to become. Hope dey
While this is true, I however couldn't even watch this till the end. 4 mins out of 6 and I can't even get a story yet. Why spend so much time gathering passengers and making noise, when the actual story is going to happen in the bus? That's a very wrong lane to go down for films oo. Over half of the time, no story. I mean who says you can't have solid 2 mins short film. Does it have to be 4 mins of nothing and 2mins of story?

Now this is on some Galileo Galilei, Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo level of using art to reflect society. I've not seen a satire so detailed like this in a long long while. In case you are watching from the future say 2050, let me explain the metaphors in this video as they relate to Nigeria. The bus represents a diverse Nigeria with different people of various culture. The bus station chairman is the present political godfathers we have in Nigeria- who decide who and who gets elected into whatever office. In fact, the chairman can be seen as a metaphor for a current presidential candidate for the 2023 election. He was instrumental in installing the current driver and intends to succeed him in office. The driver represents the current president of the country who is out of his depth in running the country, he's metaphorically blind in that he doesn't even know what goes on in the country he was installed as a president in. The well dressed young man in suit leaving are migrants who are 'japaing' to better climes, our professionals that we are losing in a record high brain drain. The man with the walking stick can be said to represent secessionists who do not believe in the country and would rather want a country of theirs and stay on their own, just like in Nigeria now, they are shut down, silenced, and forced to remain in the contraption. The guys in the bus advocating for the driver are the biased, bigoted citizens who will say anything to defend evil for their selfish interest/ willful ignorance. The guy who said he's tweeting depicts the Nigerian youths of the era who would rather stand on the bylines and talk about political issues rather than act. (In fair defense to them, they later got together, raised their voices and demanded to be heard through their soro soke protests). P.S: Lol. This is my perspective and may not entirely be what Basketmouth intended. I wish though that the man with a walking stick (Senator) offered himself to drive at no charge and they refuse him to do so as well as denying him from leaving. It would have been the dilemma a particular tribe is facing in Nigeria.

This is excellent satire. The Igbos wanted to leave the bus being driven by the blind man approved by the north and the "conductors" of the bus forced them to stay in the bus. Nigeria captured so succinctly. A masterclass.
