- Hey folks!
So this is my first 'multi angle' drum cam that I've had the pleasure of shooting and editing. Gives a different perspective and shows whats going on with my feet during the solid double kick sections.
This is also the first video I've uploaded featuring my new snare drum, the Pearl Reference 14x6.5. It's an ANIMAL! It is 20 ply (14 maple, and 6 inner birch) and, unlike my last snare, doesn't choke at higher tunings. Incredibly happy with it. Let me know what you guys think!
Looking forward to filming more of these on upcoming tours/shows.
Enjoy! Ali \m/

And here I am in 2022 still absolutely loving everything Ali does! 🤘 You are a huge inspiration! Thank you for being the drummer in two of my favorite bands! 🤘🤘 Hopefully I will get to see you in one of them in the US soon!
Wow, that was incredible to watch
Ali I am a big fans of Sylosis and the band got better when you joined!! Great drumming! Waiting for the a Sign of things to come album!
UGH UR SO POWERFUL AND CLEAN. GODDAMN
Awesome drumming. I like how you added your own flavour to the song with the extra fills, very cool.
+MetalAllDayAllNight Thanks man. Never want to take too much away from what was there. Was always a fan of Robs playing. Glad you like :)
His toms sound great too, alot of toms nowadays are tuned so tight they sound like kicks
Always loved the variety of rhythm at the end of the song! Genious accentuation
Incredible!
You guys need to cross the pond to the states again, I've been dying to get to see you live!
Perfecttttt Ali
You've quickly become one of my favourite players, you guys were fucking sick at the electric ballroom on monday, I was watching you play the whole time.
+LeeShaer Thanks man! Hope you enjoyed the show :)
🤘
Everyone should hear about you guys ... \m/
One of my favorite drum tracks! Great work! Hope to see you guys in South Africa one day

Hey Ali saw you guys last year with megadeth in birmingham. You were amazing. Was wondering is this footage from the birmingham gig? Thanks.
There are many metal drummers out there but this performance stands out!! I can feel the power you are putting out! What were you using to record the audio btw? Thanks in advance!
which tempo has this song ? Some website told me 102 bpm but that always seemed a bit slow to me, especially during the double bass parts... or are they 32nds ? j haha, i always have a hard time figuring that kind of stuff out :D that stamina on the legs is amazing, really solid single strokes, POOWWAAAA .... in general very meaty playing, no mercy for the drumkit :D
Will you stay with BFW or return with Sylosis ? Or maybe continue with both ^^
Fuckin sick dude !!!
may i ask what shoes were you wearing? looks nice
Those calf’s
Is this the live mix, or is this post mixed?
+Teemaino this is a live mix. The mixer runs straight into my laptop, and I add some slight compression/EQ to what I hear in my ears. I then put this over the camera footage.
as it is called the song playing
at what are you looking at 0:09-0:14? and why?
Drummers tend to do that. He wasn't looking at anything, he was just focused bro (:
Jambi705 ah ok thanks :)
+Kiichi Kanyos He's looking at the trigger light on his roland SPDS. When you play live, you don't always get to hear perfectly the kick. So it helps when you see a tight trigger light flash :P
+Pull ThePlug Pretty sure he doesn't trigger. The SPDS is for samples like sub drops.
+Pull ThePlug Just noticed this comment man! I was trying to hear my kicks properly. Slightly lower level than sound check and my tech sorted it out for me! I have never used triggers personally. Don't really work with my style of playing. Hope that helps clear things up for your self and the guy above. Cheers, Ali
Wish my friends would stop cancelling on me I have to make music myself cause no one else well
damn Ali your calf are monstrous and bulging lol wish I had calf's that big from playing my drums
Ali bro, you need to start practicing on some better leg techniques man! You look like your legs are gonna fall apart from all the use on tour! Try heel toe!!!
+SpacePunch Gaming thanks for the concern. This is pretty comfortable for me believe it or not. I do need to practise at this tempo more, but a change of technique will happen if I begin to push much further above 200bpm. This way of playing gives me the power I need. I stretch and warm up properly before a show, so don't feel any pain and haven't yet.
Def go for what works for you, other wise you start losing that natural feeling, man rereading my comment made me realize i sounded like an ass lol. i just remember when i played a lot of back to back shows and my legs were killing me with that straight forward technique.Ali Richardson
I prefer Rob Callard
