@@rcreviews9894 I have not been able to fly, in fact I haven't flown my 550 in awhile, after my last minor mishap I kinda just gave up, the main rotors are around $80.00 and there are a few more parts I need to change out so I just decided to take a break from flying for a bit.
I will take the Xmaxx over the XRT if your bashing through rough terrain and doing jumps. I broke both the front and rear bulkheads of the XRT the first time I went bashing with it. Don't get me wrong. I absolutely love the XRT as well. I just found that it is not as durable as the Xmaxx when doing some heavy bashing. XRT is the one if you're on track.
Yeah I would have to agree, the Xmaxx handles great stock, I just added the wide kit to see how it would effect overall performance and looks, it’s definitely not necessary and more of a optional upgrade, the XRT is fun and more of your high speed basher with a truggy look!
you could just get a $50.00 aftermarket battery tray and fit whatever batteries you want without being gouged on battery prices. Also, there are many better chargers out there than the Traxxas one.
I have Traxxas 6700s but needed more run time so I got hrb 9500s and they fit and get around 50 min or more of run time with my Xmaxx..Price wise it's great also

Thanks, well I got to be honest, I had no idea that the Xmaxx was coming stock with the wide kit, that’s news to me, however to answer your question, if I had to choose between the XRT and the Xmaxx to start off with, I would probably choose the Xmaxx, the XRT is a excellent platform don’t get me wrong, I’m just more of a monster truck kinda guy, as far as the wide kit is concerned, to me, it’s not really needed when it comes to the Xmaxx, now it doesn’t hurt performance in any way that I’ve seen so far, it’s just not a necessary upgrade like it was with the Maxx, the Maxx v2 is a awesome truck to start with and I’m going to go out on a limb here and say by now your probably hooked! Lol, the Maxx v2 would be my recommendation for someone’s first Rc, in the Traxxas line up anyway, hopefully this answers your question and thanks for watching 🤙

Even if he’s mistaken I’m ok with it. I’m out in the country so you confirmed what I was leaning toward. And yes I’m hooked. I have the space and equipment(skidsteer), going to make a small track. @@Charlie-go6eb o ok, either way, wide kit or no wide kit, it doesn’t really matter in the case of the Xmaxx, it’s a beast regardless, that’s good you got some equipment, I wish I did, I know how to drive a skid steer and a sky track and different types of forklifts and what not, what you oughta do is build some dirt ramps and mounds as well, that’s what I plan on doing in my back yard, I’ve got a lot of rocks in my backyard that I’ve been picking up here and there when I have extra time, got a real big pile in the corner of the yard I’ve been stashing, might build a crawler course too, anyways sounds like you got it figured out, thanks again and Happy New Year!🤙
So currently I have a rustler 4x4 vxl and love it but I’m looking for something bigger that goes well through grass and is good at bashing the price difference is $200 extra for the xrt is it worth it I can’t decide even after watching the video.😊
I think it’s worth it but if you want more of a basher, a truck that can handle any terrain, maybe the Xmaxx would be more what your looking for, it has a higher ground clearance, making it easier to take on any kind of off-road conditions
Great comparison. My batteries are so damn tight in both the Xmaxx and Maxx v2. Ripped the battery plastic wrapper on one of my batteries. Was the XRT easier to fit?
Thanks, did you end up getting the Traxxas batteries? I remember you telling me you got some batteries with the Xmaxx but I don’t remember if you told me what kind, any ways, yeah they are a tight fit in both the Xmaxx and the XRT, there’s kind of a method I use to get them in and out carefully and install them where I don’t damage the wires or batteries, I don’t really like the battery latches on the XRT, the Xmaxxs are better, the key is to fit one battery logo face up and then on the other side face down, so you have both connectors facing out of the truck, I also install my batteries with the connector end opposite the foam insert, the XRT doesn’t have foam inserts in the battery tray like the Xmaxx, hopefully this makes sense kinda hard to explain in a message, one thing you can do as well is run the battery wires through the latch opening once they are positioned in the tray and then lock that battery hold down into place so that the battery wires that are already sticking outside the chassis go over the battery hold down, this will give you a little more room to work with, it’s still gonna be snug as hell but it’s the best way I’ve found, it’s still kinda of a pain either way

@@rmarkley79 o ok good, I know you really didn’t ask all that l just felt the need to explain a little cause I have tried different ways or the best way to install the batteries with both of these trucks, Traxxas says in the instructions for the XRT to place the batteries with the connectors to the rear of the truck but after trying that the esc connectors and batteries cables barely reach each other, it works but one good hard landing off the ramp and it looks like they would disconnect, so I do the opposite and run it with the battery cables to the front of the truck instead, so there are other ways of doing things that work just fine, that’s why it’s good to have conversations like these, so I don’t mind questions at all, i do have two battery storage cases that I keep in the Rc room, they are called Zeee lipo guard bags that zip up, they are made of a real thick almost like a canvas coated material, I also use lipo charging bags as well made of the same kind of fire resistant material, you should definitely get one and buy two large charging bags too, there not too expensive either, better to be safe than sorry, especially with those big Xmaxx batteries, check out Amazon you can find some for around 20 bucks 🤙
Yeah the XRT is a whole other animal, you would definitely like it! I thought it would be just a truggy style Xmaxx but it runs, looks and is built differently enough to be its own thing, thanks for stopping by brother🤙
Well to be honest they are both badass trucks but if I could only have one, it would have to be the Xmaxx, just for the simple fact that I’m more of a monster truck guy🤙
I have the wide maxx kit on my Xmaxx and it goes thru knee high field grass without rolling over. Works better than stock a arms. When my grass gets chest high the Xmaxx doesn't work well. Not enough weight so the truck planes up on the grass. The XRT absolutely blows in tall grass.
I’ve had my Traxxas batteries and charger for three years now and never had any issues with the batteries or the charger, with that being said you guys are gonna have to hook me up with the deals y’all get! Every battery I’ve looked at from the bottom of the barrel to mid quality like gens ace is the same price or more than a Traxxas battery lol a decent charger is around a 100 or more, do the math, two 4s batteries at 139.99( gens ace ) plus a quality charger, let’s say 100 dollars and that’s for a cheap one, what do ya get lol, close to 400 dollars!

I've got both and prefer the regular width on the X-Maxx, the XRT I'm not sure yet, but it's a sweet truck too!
