    I do like the extra clip-position available on the P10ix. But for anyone who has ever carried a light in a holster, on the belt; being able to push forward to bring the light into play is *incredibly* more convenient than bending your elbow at an extreme and awkward angle to pull the light out. Same when you re-holster the light. Then again, if your light snags on something while getting up from a seated position, it's not going to fall out and go tumbling to the concrete floor if the only way to draw the light is up from the top.

      I saw another reviewer mention that the P20ix holster made for a problematic issue where the light can fall out and possibly be lost…. Just thought I’d mention it to you….

    For the same 4000 lumens, the P10iX has half the candela of the P20iX, meaning the 10 has a much wider angle of illumination, meaning you can stun a wide area of assailants unlike the 20.

    • @aali3362
      @aali3362 Před 3 měsíci +1

      The P10iX has a narrower central circle, and it won't be able to blind multiple attackers!

  • @billjohnsonseattle
    @billjohnsonseattle Před 10 měsíci +4

    I think the P10ix is a much better EDC light, smaller, yet plenty bright enough to blind a human attacker or ward off a dog attack. The extra throw on the P20 doesn’t seem that big of a difference to warrant carrying a bigger light around all the time. If I want a thrower I’ll buy a dedicated light for that. The P10 will be more than enough to handle the job with plenty of high output to blind attackers, with lots of runtime on the lower outputs…. Either way you can’t go wrong, but I personally like the smaller light which does pretty much all the same things as the brighter one.

    I have the 10 for everyday, not tactical use. What I like about the 10 is illuminating a wider area closer in, vs. a greater distance. The area you were testing in doesn’t show how much better the 10 illuminates the periphery closer in.

    • @SodiumSyndicate
      @SodiumSyndicate Před rokem +4

      Correct, when facing multiple attackers or much closer, the 10 is far more effective in blinding.

    Difficult decision, leaving the price difference aside. I want to replace a Nitecore P12 which I recently broke after about 10y of hard use, it was my favorite go-to light, 25mm slim body, very similar dimensions to the P10IX. I have a new big thrower for long range work, I can make my neighbors 300m away feel like the Aliens are coming for him if I want to.. so I'm attracted by the floody IX series. I guess the smart decision would be to go for the slimmer light as its far more likely I'll have it with me when I really need it. I'm not a cop and don't fancy walking around with a duty belt style holster, practical as these modern holsters might be. Any comments?

      I’m 57 and I have never dropped a flashlight. I’m not going to blow 250 bucks on a cloud defensive when I can get a P10ix for 99.00. Its a risk I’m willing to take. Even if I were to drop the Nightcore and had to replace it, I would still be $50 ahead. 😂

    Ok, I work for europol in Greece,regarding the comments below, on the 10ix having a narrower beam and able to stun "multiple" attackers better than the 20ix. Look the strobe, yes it is effective, yes it will stun 1 or 2 drunk or trouble makers, but if you really expect this to stop multiple attackers, God help you! It wont do shit against organized hoodlums, hooligans, and rioters out to destroy a city, coming at you with 2x4s, crowbars and throwing molotov coctails at you. Maybe they are good for concerts, a night watchman, or a security guard at some building. Btw I got the p20ix, and a p23 for throw more as tools to see, rather than defense or offensive weapons. Why did I choose these? TacticooL!!! Compared to the others, they look the part, and they do their job!
