My dad was in the hospital with heart problems and dementia and less than a hour before his death he told me thank you for watching over him. It still makes me sad/ happy when I think about it.

The girl that never was hits me hard. I lost my first baby when I 4 months pregnant. We had names picked out and going home outfits bought because we didn't know the gender٫ but I think it was a boy. I was devastated. 😢

A lot of emotion in this one. Beautiful. James is from England, though he lives with his wife on a Spanish island in the Mediterranean. Great stories and memories of your father, SueSue. Much love to y’all. ♥️😢

Because of this song, a distant cousin heard it and was able to give James's father a kidney. He is still alive.

James dad was actually dying from kidney disease & this was his tribute & farewell to his dad. Thankfully his dad received a donor kidney & is doing okay now. If this song doesn't get to you emotionally, there is something wrong with you. This song resonates with me as I was my dad's caregiver for 5 years until he passed away 4 years ago.

English ex soldier, same as his father. Father donated a kidney and years later he needed one. A distant relative saw this recording and came forward, he was a match so father survived. Amazing story. Sorry you were so upset, Sue❤❤

To add a bit more to this, the line "I'm not your son, you're not my father" came from when they were both in the military and were deploying. James was a Captain, and his father was a Lieutenant Colonel. He told James that he couldn't show any favoritism and that they were simply two men. He wrote this when he thought his father wouldn't find a donor in time and would pass away. Dad was sitting next to him throughout the whole video and came into view when the camera panned out. When the video was finished, his dad ask "Why is everyone crying? I'm still alive."

ames and his father were both former officers in the British military, and I heard that James donated all the proceeds of this amazing video to the UK charity 'Help For Heroes' who do so much fantastic work with and for ex-servicemen and ex-servicewomen, and God bless him for that. 🙋‍♂🙋‍♂

Suesue, I understand about saying goodbye to your father. My father got an aggresdive, uncurable braintumour. I took him into my home and nursed him his last time. It only took a month before he was gone.
As for this song, what I've picked up, is that James and his father was both ex-military and that the greeting 'I'm not, your son, you're not my father' was how they used to say at parting any time any of them went on a mission.
    It's a very emotional song
    😢

Definitely an emotional song. I have heard it which doesn’t take anything away from it. When my Dad died it took us days of canceled flights and sitting in airports, we weren’t there for his last even with everyone. Great reaction/stories with all the memories.
Glad your weather is nice there. Our weather was on a constant drop in quality right up to and during the Eivor concert (outside). Was in the 40s and raining. Now that it’s over today is quite a nice day. Look in email for a few pics.. and questions.

Good morning. I'm new to your channel. I have been better. My dad passed away four years ago and I'm struggling so hard. He was the rock of our family. We didn't get a proper goodbye because it was 2 weeks after the pandemic hit and the hospital stopped visits. He was my best friend. I'm a daddy's girl and he's still my hero. I heard this song a month and a half after he died and it could have been written about my dad. I miss him more every day. 💔
