    Thanks Rose. Always find your videos very informative. However, saying "You don't get dividend reinvestments with ETFs" is a bit misleading. Choosing to invest in ETFs vs Mutual Funds is a very big decision for an investor to make and although they are both quite similar, I prefer trading ETFs just because it becomes a little easier to manage taxes. Most major brokerages allow dividend reinvestment on ETFs and figuring out how to activate automatic reinvestments on the brokerage account is totally worth the time. It is pretty easy to do it in Fidelity.

    You would really make for a great teacher. The best way to know a great teacher is when you can teach someone a complex topic and manage to simplify it for the mundane people. You do a great job in simplifying things and also giving advices especially for beginners in this field like me. I am a healthcare professional and I mainly just want to start investing for my future and do that passively since I don't have the time to dig into stock, financial information and all that stuff. THIS is the video that took away my fear of investing. Thank you so much. Most videos just talk and talk but don't give you step by step what to do. I opened an individual brokerage account and a Roth IRA account with Fidelity where I have my workplace 401k, immediately after watching this video. I chose the Dave Swenson model for my Roth IRA and Fidelity's equivalent to the S&P 500 for my individual account. Starting slow with $1000 in each. Made $72 in 4 days in the individual acct. I was probably making $3.00 on that money in savings over a few months. Wish I had started earlier.

I just opened an individual account with Fidelity and was wondering about the difference with an added Roth IRA account. Is the only difference = not being able to access your ROTH $ until age 59.5 and having tax-free earnings vs in your individual account, you can liquidate/access whenever you'd like but you're taxed on it? (Hope that question made sense....sorry)

    Amazing video Rose, I learned so much in that 10 minutes. I had a quick question. Is the Fidelity Zero Large Cap Index (FNILX), a mutual fund worth investing in? I ask because you didn't mention it in the video. Thanks again and you got a new subscriber, keep up the great content!

    • @itsrosehan
      @itsrosehan  Před 4 lety +19

      Denny Tran hello Denny! thanks for subbing and watching! I’m gonna make a video about Fidelity’s new ZERO funds soon. but to answer your question, the FNILX is basically an S&P500 index fund (i.e. the biggest 500 companies). there are actually like 4,000 stocks in the U.S., but the top 500 basically make up 80% of the total U.S. stock market. if you’re doing index funds and you don’t have any particular views about large cap companies vs other companies, I tend to think it’s best to diversify as much as possible by investing in the TOTAL stock market (with a fund like FZROX or FSKAX) vs only the large caps (like FNILX or FXAIX). Hope that helps - and thanks for inspiring some new content ideas for me!

    20% US REIT Index
    15% LONG Term US Treasury index (not intermediate)
    15% US TIPS index
    10% Emerging Markets Stock Index
