How do I use the usb-c on the newer iPads to connect both looptimus mini and utilize the sound out of iPad? Some type of splitter cable?

Unfortunately, there is not a way to do this without using additional hardware like Track Rig. There is not an adapter / splitter that sends MIDI and audio. It is unfortunate with Apple continuing to remove ports on their devices.
With Track Rig, you can connect the interface to the iPad, and then the Mini can connect to the USB hub on the back and it will be able to connect to Prime.
We do have the Bluetooth Looptimus+ that helps get around this as well. You can send the MIDI to the iPad over bluetooth.
