Enjoyed this very much. After months of Acid Archives Diaries ... a record I own! Picked up a super clean OG a couple of months back. Really admire how much of reach this album is - amazing to me how talented musicians can push boundaries and create like this.
I did gardening/ yardwork with a close friend of John's in Vermont, at his house. Unfortunately he was on vaca in Hawaii. So I haven't met him to ask about these recordings
Alex, thanks for showing ''Human Music'', it's one of Don's albums that I never owned. I assumed it was a BYG release, maybe they did a reissue. That flute section was my favorite, but I found all of it to be quite engaging. Don Cherry was a musician who was filled with the Spirit of Music and he was ready to play from the minute he woke up until he went to sleep. He seemed to be everywhere and had the impetus to create dialogs with any musician or any non- musician too. Oh yeah, awesome cover by Moki!
@@diamond_marimba Yes Alex, when I had my famous meeting with Don, I learned that very quickly. He talked to me at length, as if we were old friends, during the concert, he made eye- contact with me and smiled.
bizarre record, haven't bought it but if I come across it I would probably make it mine. would have loved to see this session in action with them playing off each other. Its the kind of thing now that the 2 musicians would just collaborate remotely but then they were forced to do this in a studio. I like the reference to the Mu records too.
Great album I’ve never owned on vinyl. I’ve streamed it and think might have had it on cd for a bit before I got rid of almost all of them. The art behind you looks familiar too, where’s that from?
forgot to credit Moki with the artwork
Her art and quilts were all amazing.
Really interesting title. Thanks for sharing Alex
