I met Jim Kelly at Comic-con over ten years ago. He was very friendly and nice to talk to. I told him that he could have beaten Han in Enter the Dragon if it weren't for those birds. He laughed. He allowed me to take numerous photos with him at no charge. He was a nice person. May he RIP

Han had the element of surprise in this fight. Williams seriously underestimated Han at the beginning. He didn't realize or even begin to contemplate how much of a threat he could be until Han caught him off guard with that iron hand of his. Then once the pigeon broke loose and distracted Williams, Han capitalized on that opening and it was all over from there. Han pretty much met his match later with Bruce Lee, though. All of his skills, tricks, weapons and defense couldn't help him against Bruce.

When I took a visit to Hong Kong last November, I went to the Hong Kong Heritage Museum to see the Bruce Lee exhibition. Seeing Han's hands on display in the glass cabinet was a very eerie and exciting moment. Like, the knife blade hand Han uses later on. I remember standing there in the exhibition looking at it thinking "I've seen this countless times on the TV when I've watched the movie, and right now in this moment its inches from my face. Were it not for the glass I could touch it." Ahh Hong Kong, I'll go back there! :D

Even though this was a brilliant but sad scene, the point was that even though Williams was an efficient martial artist, he was crude and arrogant. Han, although villainous, had a point about the finer aspects of martial arts that Williams failed to appreciate (hence his statement about 'it's not the art but the combat that you enjoy'). We must always be humble and ready to learn things. Defeat is nothing more than a chance to learn.
