Driving a Ferrari F50!!

- While I was in Miami with Shmee150 we visited @dennis_akoyaking who owns a very special Ferrari F50. This particular F50 is known as chassis 001 and carries over many parts from the F50 prototype which makes it unlike any other production F50 in existence. While Shmee150 was out driving the car I was chatting with the owner and he offered to let me drive it! I was a bit hesitant with the lurking rainstorm but couldn't pass on the opportunity to drive one of my all time dream cars. Even though it was a quick drive around the block I was over the moon with joy and couldn't be more thankful for the chance to drive it.
I have ridden in a few F50s in the past and have moved them around parking lots but this was my first go out on the road by myself. The car is powered by a 4.7 liter naturally aspirated V12 derived from a Formula 1 car which is bolted directly to the tub and is also the same V12 that is found in the Ferrari 333 SP although massively detuned for road use. Being able to feel the raw power of that V12 connected to the 6 speed gated manual transmission was a dream come true. While rolling on the power in 2nd gear the car was instantly lighting up the rear tires and I was taking it very gently. There is no power steering, you are surrounded by carbon fiber, you have a V12 begging to be driven hard, and as tempting as it is to drive it like you stole it you have to keep your wits about you before you get into trouble.

I like the F50 more than the F40
Only for the fact its naturally aspirated.
Otherwise, the F40 gets the GO for the simple fact Enzo was still around for its design and development.

The f50 was the car that raised the petrolhead in me when I was about 18 yo, had no interest in cars whatsoever then and all o a sudden, boom, this very car changed all that. What a thing...
Why not showing? 90% ppl have Joy when they see car like that. The 10% rest are jealous assholes that will scratch the car with Keys when no one is looking :D

This might be customer car #1, or 001/349, but it's not THE first F50 made. There are a couple of chassis numbers lower than this one.

The F40 isn’t as rare
It should be a bit more comfortable than the F40.
I have only ridden in a F40 but I think they are roughly the same. Both are extremely raw and brutal!

No it's not? It's an NA V12. The Koenig Special F50 is turbo charged (twin).

The F40 was the last of the V-8 twin turbo. The F50 is normally aspirated.
