    I never toyed with a Nord and I have the need to perform with bass on the left and piano and/or piano strings on the left. I think this video pretty much clears my way. Thanks

    Hello Doug ! Thank you for your great videos. I have a question for you : Is it possible to split the Synth on 3 zones, in order to have 3 differents synth sounds on one program ? Thanks a lot xxx

    Hello Doug, thank's for that video. My question is, after I split in
    3 zones, can I save my splits in a song (in song mode). Thank you !

    How do you create a static drone controlled by the mod wheel behind the piano sounds without them sustaining as well?

    • @DSoundman
      @DSoundman  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey! You’re going to need to make use of the A and B panels. Put the pad on one panel and the piano on the other. Then on the pad panel, press the KB Hold button and turn sustain off for the pad. This will sustain any note(s) you play on the pad. You could take it a step further and split the sounds as well as morph the pad volume or filter cutoff to the mod wheel or volume pedal. I’ll be coming out with a video soon demonstrating these things. Hope this helps for now!

    Thank you for the great video!
    Is it possible to assign four different sounds to each of the four zones?
    Specifically, I saw you assign piano to both the second and third zone in the middle. Is it possible to just assign piano to the second zone and then assign something else (like a clavinet) to the third zone (while keeping the first zone as organ and fourth zone as synth)?

    • @DSoundman
      @DSoundman  Před 3 lety +3

      Thank you! Yes it is! In order to do this, you’ll have to use both the A and B panels together. Setup your first three splits on panel A, then in panel B setup only your fourth split. Then press the two A and B panel buttons at the same time to layer the panels.

    Can you use the split function for the preset programs the nord has in the middle section? I.e. if you wanted A:11 Royal Grand piano on one half then A:22 nefertiti Milk on another half?

    • @DSoundman
      @DSoundman  Před 2 lety +1

      Unfortunately, no. Programs/Presets are a compilation of splits and layers and therefore can't be split and layered themselves. A good work-around would be to look at the sounds in the programs you want to split and then build your own split program using those sounds. The only time that wouldn't be possible is if the two programs you want to split each use two different synth sounds for a total of four synth sounds. You are only able to have two synth sounds max between panels A and B, so you'd be limited there. Hopefully that helps!

      @@DSoundman Thanks for the reply - I think i need to investigate more into using the panels. Are you able to save splits anywhere? I.e. onto a new program that you have created or into a song in song mode? Thanks!

    Is it possible to layer sounds within split points?

    • @DSoundman
      @DSoundman  Před rokem +1

      Yes, If you set the split to the same on multiple sounds you’ll essentially get layering with the split point.

    Only 8 fixed split pionts? Heh. Yamaha Modx can make them on any note and any quantity. Only 6 or 12 semitones to spreading split point? Modx can make it to any semitones with step of 1. So Nord is a flexible instrument? LOL

    If your mission was to explain “How” to choose individual voices from any bank, split the keyboard applying a voice in a zone and then save.. well I don’t even think you came close. From my perspective, you talk too much in an analytical manner and really it sounds like the most important thing to you is your need to hear your voice:) you’re not alone, as I find this with most Nord tutorial presentations. Solution? Explain how, and what controls are used by their nord names, by using a Montessori-model of teaching. This presentation is an example of trying to stick and stuff. Too much information within a certain duration and too much emphasis on teaching, and not enough on learning. before I can learn to split the keyboard, I need to understand specifically how to choose two voices. If two voices are listed on the information screen, how do you select the voice listed on the bottom of the screen.? Anyway, I will find someone I will just gladly pay Who knows how to use a phone And will understand the goal is the client learns a sequence of commands and not the teacher teaching to hear their voice.
