- Tangled Up is really Britannica's Tales Around the World Rapunzel but in 2012 a company called Brightspark Productions slapped a Disney rip off cover on it. So we also have the Rapunzel like stories of Fenchelchen and when King Solomon put his daughter in a tower.

Fun fact: the animators of the Rapunzel segment went on to work for 90s WB cartoons under Startoons, most notably Animaniacs.
"The person locking the girl up isn't always a woman. Sometimes they might not even be a bad person."
At least to me, the message of all these stories seem to be: “Don’t lock your daughter away from the men of the world or else she’ll fall for the first dude who breaks into her room.”
The part where Rapunzel says, "The Prince?! Oh, What A Man!" it sounds like something out of Looney Tunes or Tex Avery, so it's not surprising some of the animators went to work on 90's WB cartoons like Animaniacs!
Pregnant women
The animation in the first one really has that "Saturday morning breakfast cereal commercial" look to it.
Damn, not gonna lie, the animation in the Rapuznel segment looks amazing. It's so jarring to see actual good animation after all the Dingo, Jetlag, Golden Films, Goodtimes, Bevanfields, etc.
I actually enjoyed the art styles for these three stories. The animation may have been a little awkward, but at least the people making them knew how to draw.
Now I know why it took so long for Disney to make their version of Rapunzel. They had to go through all the crappy ones first to figure out what not to do for theirs.
The Rapunzel segment seems like some heart was put into the design and animation. Nothing mind blowing but a nice change of pace for one of these things Lol
Pat Morita: I don't know if I believe in magic
"The Prince?! Uuuhh, what a man!"
Solomon talking to an eagle...
Am I the only one who wishes that they brought back a series like this? It’s a really neat concept, and a great way to tell stories that are unfamiliar to some or atleast forgotten over the years.
I remember when Tangled came out and a local supermarket started selling Tangled Up. I had to stop a woman, who was excited to have a DVD release of 'Tangled' from buying it for her child.
Wow, that Rapunzel cartoon has actually a pretty fun and well animated style, and in my opinion a nice sense of humor about itself. I like it
"Anyway, to make a long story short, Santa killed her"
"So ever since Fenchelchen learned magic, she had an easy way to escape the tower if she really wanted to."
'In Germany, they talk of a girl who was stolen by magic...'
The end of Fenchelchen is like that Twilight Zone episode "It's a Good Life" where the townspeople live in harmony because they are scared to death of being transfigured by the magic of a little boy who trapped their town in a pocket universe.
