I'm not rich and this was a car I could actually afford. Best money 💰 I've ever spent, absolutely loving mine. This video is spot on with everything you said mate 👏 👌 and never mind about running costs, its a weekend showoff car not a daily driver.
I test drove a 2010 s5 last week and I had a ton of fun in it. Your video just enhanced my reasoning on buying the car. 2/24 can't get here any sooner. Awesome video and your genuine enthusiasm while driving it!!!

Make sure the timing chain and timing chain tensioner has been replaced. They had problems before 2011. I bought a 2011 s5 last year ,and love it. Too bad supercharger upgrade for the 4.2 v8 is so expensive.
Brad Duronso the timing problems are with the S4 V8, not the S5.

Fantastic video! I have the same car, have changed the exhaust system and it sounds like an angry race car when you put your foot down. Mileage isn't too bad... can get about 650km to a full tank of 98 octane. Mine has the glass roof too.

Every time I window shop other cars, I get back in my V8 S5 and slap myself. Even when I do get another car, I'll probably keep my S5 as my weekend toy.

is the standard 335d quicker off the line cos of the monster torque?
and then the S5 overtakes as the revs climb?
the acceleration was very smooth compared to the 335d...it didn't feel as quick due the weight of it....but a really nice place to be...and that v8 sounded so sweet
335i and 335d will sweep the floors with S5.. Because the tuning potential.. jumping from 300hp to 400hp with 15second computer tune.
I'm confused S5 has a bigger engine is the 335i and 335d still faster ? (Old shape)
weight probably is in favour of the 335i. BUT, you can tune up alittle bit the V8 to make it closer to 400hp, plus quatttro could give it the advantage at the beginning.
Yep weight is one factor but also keep in mind the S5 is naturally aspirated whereas the 335i/d have two turbos. Also, giving a turbo'd engine a tune will have a larger effect than on a N/A setup generally

Before 2011 there was an issue with the timing chain tension
Brad Duronso That was with the B7 S4 engines which had plastic chain tensioners, the S5 uses the reinforced metal tensioners...

I know it's like apples with its oranges but I have a jdm STi version 9 RA spec C and before than an IX FQ340. since ive seen this audi i cant get it off my mind. ultra rare car to see in my country. im putting up for sale my STi. what to you suggest. Go out on search of a legendary r33 gtr or a supra or take a blue super low miles 2008 ive found used s5 home? the transition from Japan to Germans wouldn't kill all the fun? im confused. ive also found a 335i and an evo X jdm MR but the asking price especially for the 335i in my country is so freaking high
having owned a r33 I can say its a great car..mine was pushing 550whp....I've always wanted a supra and might get one at some point...the 335I is a nice car but not the most reliable....I'm a big fan of the evolution and intend to get another one next year....the v8 in the video is a very nice car with quality interior and it sounds awesome....I'd have one over the 335i even though the 335i is easy to tune ...
+Spool me Up 712 wow thanks for the reply. 335 is easier to tune but yeah heard bout the reliable issues also. plus it dont seem any different than the typical 320 coupe:p audi is more reliable as engine and general costs? gtr has always been one of my dreams the rb26 is such a legendary engine. 2jzgte also but the 6 speed manual here i have better luck finding a unicorn an r33gtr for sure they are a few up for sale if i put an asking for ad. But i dont know man theres something with this audi even if i know its perhaps slower from all the rest that pulls me on to it. never been to one though is it true what they say that it dont feel really quick and feels lazy or thats just a myth.

One thing that annoys me with this car is you turn off the engine and then cannot use the window controls, I mean it's not a deal breaker but still for 140k I'd expect to be able to put the windows back up without the engine on :P

Not significant difference. I was driving A5 2.0 did average 380km per full tank. Now I’m diving this car average 330km per full tank. As mentioned running costs are high mate… it’s a V8, u don’t buy it for millage 😂

I had this V8, but now own an E92 330d. The S5 had way more luxury/prestige, looked, sounded (obviously as my Beamer is a diesel) and just felt more special. However, my E92 is much, much better on fuel, feels more alive and agile when I'm pushing it, and I can see why drivers prefer the BMW. Only recently got the E92, so opinion may evolve, but the S5 would be my choice.
Tank Roberts if it’s the E92 M3 you’re talking about then E92 all day long. I like the S5 but it is too planted, sure footed, refined and dare I say detached from the overall driving experience compared to an M car.
Lolz I’ve owned 2 B8 S5s. Better be ready for HPP, Carbon cleaning, Cracked Coolant Tank Leaks, Control arm wear and Tear and Transmission Slippage. Everything is basically one bill from being Broke
