I want to compliment your craft in these videos. The editing and the way you both structure the segments are always great. The information presented has been very useful to us in deciding what my wife and I want to experience in future cruises.
absolutely. We love these guys! We've watched all the vloggers thru the pandemic...and we now think parodeeyjay our favorite...'cuz there's NEVER a discouraging world. And the info is very useful; actually what we might expect. Thanx Parodeejay. Some days you 'save' us.
I was there in early February and got to watch our ship the Ruby Princess making it's way back into the Agua Clara locks. My excursion, booked on the Princess website was great.
Nice to see where I was born in 1943 in Colon, to American parents. Left in 1966 for Houston and have gone back for visit. Thanks for the excellent video of the place I once considered my Homeland. Made me homesick and thank you for sharing.
If you ever do a transit of the Panama Canal, you'll want to make sure the cruise uses the old canal. It's a very unique locking procedure. It's much different from what you witnessed in this video.
What a very full day you had! It was super interesting to see your perspective of the Canal as the ships went through...I suspect these were different locks than we went through with Pridey. This tour seemed to be very jam-packed and excelente!
I wish you had enough time at the canal to see the movie. That's where it's at. The full history of the building of the canal was really interesting. I'm looking forward to the Colombia vlog. I loved that port!
I just recently found your channel and love your content! Panama is on our travel list so this video series has been great! I wonder how many people started singing Panama with Jay 😛 Hope to meet the two of you cruising someday!
Panama Canal or Colon is on my Bucket list. I love your Videos and love seeing all the nature. I never seen a Coatimundi. Looking forward to your MSC cruise videos, I love their private Island.
If you like to read, get The Path Between the Seas by David McCullough. It's really good and give you more insight on the building of the original locks.
I hope that little critter on the side of the road waiting for treats is safe being so used to people. We humans don’t always have the best of intentions. He was so cute though .🥰
Appreciated seeing this video and what the port experience can be like. We have done a San Diego-FLL transit cruise and enjoyed that as well but it is suggested that cruisers experience the canal both ways! Also Dee, loved your pictures!!
I have really been looking at the cruises that go through the Panama Canal. I like the one that starts in Galveston and goes all the way through and to LA. 🥰
Another great vlog. Again, really selling me on the RCCL cruise I'm eyeing with pretty much the same itinerary. You should get commission if I book 🤣. See those coati all the time at the all-inclusive I frequent in Mexico.
Good morning, a little late, at 8:00am I was at a doctor’s appt for my annual ck up. Loved the video, we’ll be on the Panama Transit in November on Royal. We’ll have to flight home for Thanksgiving afterwards, we haven’t been on the west coast for a while, would have loved to stay to to do the Mexican Riviera again, but family comes first. Then we’ll be on Ascent December 3. In January we are only going to be home 4 days. See you!
If you do a canal passage from the Colon side, get a port side balcony cabin if you can. You can watch the canal employees work and wave to the other boats as you go through the canal. We did a partial traversal about a week before your trip, and did the Gatun Lake Tour. We saw a lot of monkeys, sloths, and an alligator. The monkeys may jump right in the boat with you.
Thank you for bringing us along. I am definitely adding Panama to my list. Love Dee's hat and the music you used. Chicken parm looks better than the one you showed last time. Cumbia ! I was worried there is no Bolero on Vision but if they use Centrum that's cool.
No, it was independent through Almiza Tours, as we said at the start of the vlog. The only ship excursion we chose on this cruise was for our next port of Cartagena, Colombia!! :D
We took Carib Princess through the Agua Clara Locks, then a boat to shore, and up to visitor center, then train to Panama City. Ship went back through locks and met our tour in Colon . There was a nature walk at the visitor center with lots of birds, sloths and a monkey
Interesting to see it from the visitor's center. I saw Tony's PC cruise and it looked pretty boring to go through the locks. I'm not engineering-minded so it doesn't excite me. But I always enjoy your excursions!
Did you get to see the imax movie at the canal ? How was it do your recommend going having the Panama Canal experience. It did look like ya did much during your short stop at that location . I see now why ya end up doing an entire tour which included multiple stops.
We didn't end up seeing the movie, though we've heard it's a fascinating look at the history of the canal. We definitely got a lot done during our short port day!! :D
The schedule can vary from day to day, so there's no real way of knowing. It's possible that the port posts a schedule online, but we haven't tried to find one.
Still to be determined! It will depend on if we can find a quiet space out in public, since we're not in a balcony and can't really stream from our cabin. Ah well!! :P ~Jay

'word'...spellcheck 'heck'. Ha.
Always find it funny you know when Dee is a little tipsy bc she always says “I’m fine” like immediately 🤣
Seeing these videos brings back so many memories of growing up there ..we were living there from75 till 81 after President Carter signed the treaty ..
I was there in early February and got to watch our ship the Ruby Princess making it's way back into the Agua Clara locks. My excursion, booked on the Princess website was great.

We've rides horse to ft,San Lorenzo and played chase went in the tunnels ,,it has changed so much since 1981 when we left there ..
The crested bird on the lawn at the castillo in Panama was a Southern Lapwing.
We definitely need more Dinner with Dee & Jay segments after the dry but moist, crunchy but gooey nut bar dessert in your mouth hole! 😂
I loved seeing the locks. I can’t wait to see them in person
Wow ... I was on Vision January 6 - 16 and was in stateroom 3563 which was right next door to you guys! Cleo was a fantastic stateroom attendant!
I loved the sky tram!!!!
We did a big multidisciplinary unit on the rainforest when I taught 6th grade. So thank you so much. The birds are usually in the canopy.
I think these are my favorite “Photos by Dee.”
I wish you had enough time at the canal to see the movie. That's where it's at. The full history of the building of the canal was really interesting. I'm looking forward to the Colombia vlog. I loved that port!
Evergreen’s Ever Forward was the ship that ran aground in Maryland last year, and took 1 month of work to get free!
I lived on the Atlantic side in the early 90s. Everything looks so different! I need to go back. ❤
Interesting side note. We saw the Ever Forward while it was run around in the Chesapeake Bay in April 2022.
Glad it was the Ever Forward and not the Ever Given. Thank you for Panning the Panama.
Oooof, that was quite the hot topic there about the Suez Canal, eh? :P
I just recently found your channel and love your content! Panama is on our travel list so this video series has been great! I wonder how many people started singing Panama with Jay 😛

We are doing a Panama Canal crossing next March from LA to Fort Lauderdale…..can’t wait!
Need to get to Colon. The old lock system is SO different for the gates then the new locks.
So fun for the viewers when you’re doing something new. We see your excitement. The regular cruise ship not so much cuz you’re always on a ship - lol!
Panama: Definitely on my list... Thank you for showing it.
That was a really good tour of Panama. Looks like you had a fantastic time and I had a virtual fantastic time 🤩. Thanks so much for sharing!
~ Inge 😺
I canal-ly imagine how cool this was to see in person!
Pun game on point!! :D

Dee your pictures are beautiful thanks for the videos
I hope that little critter on the side of the road waiting for treats is safe being so used to people. We humans don’t always have the best of intentions. He was so cute though .🥰
That's pretty sad they've trained him to perform for tourists. It was a pretty fat coati mundi.
Appreciated seeing this video and what the port experience can be like. We have done a San Diego-FLL transit cruise and enjoyed that as well but it is suggested that cruisers experience the canal both ways! Also Dee, loved your pictures!!
I’m going on a repositioning Vision of the Seas cruise in May. One way from FLL to Baltimore.
We did the Panama Canal in Jan on the NCL Bliss and it was very nice. Great experience.🛳

Sometimes with howlers, you will ask two questions. The first is "What was that?" The second is "Who flung dung?!?"

Holy Moly! We had to pause & count rows, columns, etc... it looks like about 3700 containers on that ship! 😳

I am so ordering that oat and berry bar now, just for the experience! 😀
The Ever Forward got stuck on the bottom of Chesapeake Bay last year
Great Video!!

Loved this episode. On our bucket list for sure. Wondered if that tour was one of the ship excursions? Was a great one!
No, it was independent through Almiza Tours, as we said at the start of the vlog. The only ship excursion we chose on this cruise was for our next port of Cartagena, Colombia!! :D
I see the difference in HAL musical entertainment and Royal. I gotta book a HAL cruise 🚢
We took Carib Princess through the Agua Clara Locks, then a boat to shore, and up to visitor center, then train to Panama City. Ship went back through locks and met our tour in Colon . There was a nature walk at the visitor center with lots of birds, sloths and a monkey
I’m a birder so I was curious what that one Dee took a picture of so I researched it’s a Southern Lapwing if you were curious :) pretty bird :)
Hey Jay! You wore the socks I gave you again!!!!!!
I really love your photos Dee. You have a very artistic eye and frame your shots beautifully, I was wondering what type of camera you use
Interesting to see it from the visitor's center. I saw Tony's PC cruise and it looked pretty boring to go through the locks. I'm not engineering-minded so it doesn't excite me. But I always enjoy your excursions!
That ship EverForward was stuck in the Chesapeake Bay for ~1month.
Were they really? Wow! All that after the other poor Evergreen ship was stuck in the Suez Canal a while back for a looooong time. Crazy!!

love the videos of your cruise we are doing the same one in April can't wait , did you have to do the pre cruise covid test because of colombia?
How long was the bus ride? I get car sick easily and trying to decide if this is worth it for us
Hi Dee and Jay - great video 😀 what animal was that on the road? I thought it was some kind of monkey but I wasn’t sure
Coatimundi! We used to see them all the time in our Mexico all-inclusive vlogs!! :D
It was a coutamuni..my sister and I found 1 tied to the Px in Ft.Shermen ,we took it home but mom and dad made us turn him losse ..lol
Hopefully you'll be able to do a full transit, or even a half transit, of the Panama Canal. Also Sammy is better than Dave.
What time is the best for visiting, to see ships?
The schedule can vary from day to day, so there's no real way of knowing. It's possible that the port posts a schedule online, but we haven't tried to find one.
Did the bus have a bathroom?
Love Dee’s hat. Where is it from?
It’s in our Amazon shop!! :P #ad
www.parodeejay.com/amazon
Was thar a red panda that came running to the bus for treats?
Coatimundi! We used to see them all the time in our Mexico all-inclusive vlogs!! :D
@@parodeejay Yes, that's right.
First
evergreen and canals dont mix
FYI, ships are referred to as "VESSELS" not "VEHICLES". 🤦♂
Whaaaaat! Wikipedia lied to me!! :P
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle
@@parodeejay Call it as you wish, but VESSEL is the most proper term for a ship in the nautical genre. When you know, then you know.
@@parodeejay I like your channel and my comment was not mean-spirited. Be safe always.
will you guys be making a live stream today on the paradise? Great video!!
