    Many people aren't aware, but much of Bruce's philosophy was rooted in Japanese Zen Buddhism, In fact, some of his saying are either direct quotes or obvious paraphrasing from works such as "the Book of Five Rings"and "Hagakure." This scene in particular is taken directly from "Hagakure." I highly recommend reading these influential and brilliant works of philosophy if your a Bruce lee fan.

      The great thing about Bruce Lee is he cherry picked the best things and made it his own with a better twist: His fighting style, philosophy, and his way of life. So if you study Bruce Lee you are minimizing years of research through all the bullshit, he found the gold for you. If that makes sense.

    • @MrMZaccone
      @MrMZaccone Před 9 lety

      ***** I won't if you won't use the same excuses for Lee that others did for Mencia. "picked the best things and made it his own with a better twist" Almost exactly what people said to defend Mencia. Lee was charismatic and popularized both martial arts and eastern philosophy by making action films that contained both. It should be noted that these films were fiction as it is likely, is much that has been said about Bruce Lee.

    • @Forenzikproductions
      @Forenzikproductions Před 9 lety +4

      Edmond Dantez-_- my god. Mencia stood in the back of comedy clubs and wrote down material directly from what the other fucking comedian was saying, stealing it. Everyone knew it and now we hate him because he wasn't funny and sucked ass. Bruce Lee is a martial artist. He brought martial arts to the west, he gave Asian and minority cultures a reason to hold their head up high. Brought us great entertainment, molded his own style of fighting, Jeet Kun Do, studied philosophy, and was trained by the original IP man, and taught so many people. So you need to shut the fuck up while grown folks is talking.

    Bruce Lee studied Sun Tzu's "The Art Of War." Sun Tzu said in Chapter 3, "Hence to fight and conquer all of your battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting." Bruce Lee interpreted it by saying, "The art of fighting without fighting." Bruce Lee will always be the greatest.

Then move to the CREEP harrassing Bruce Lee. etc. And finally end with the KIDS jerking the rope of the boat that the CREEP crept into. The ART of FIGHTING without fighting. Bruce Lee amongst others also drew inspiration from the teachings of the Chinese philosopher Laozi, especially his work "Tao Te Ching."
    Excerpt from Tao Te Ching:
    "The best quality/character is like water.
    The water's goodness is that it benefits the myriad things but does not quarrel,
    and it willingly goes to where others hate,
    Thus it is almost like the Tao."
    Does Bruce's famous catchphrase "be like water" ring a bell?

    #BruceLee: "Enter The Dragon" The Art of Fighting
    Without Fighting
    ⏭ czcams.com/video/8H-FiCIMh20/video.html
    There is a scene in the 1973 kung fu classic “Enter the Dragon” where a man walks around a boat bullying passengers.
    When the man tries to scare Bruce Lee by throwing air strikes near his face, Lee unflinchingly looks at him and replies, “don’t waste yourself.”
    “What’s your style?”
    The bullying man asks.
    “The art of fighting without fighting,”
    says Lee.
    “Show me some of it!”
    The bullying man demands
    Lee tries to walk off, but the bullying man insists he show him what the “art of fighting without fighting” looks like.
    Since the boat was crowded, Lee suggests that they take a dingy to a nearby beach for more space.
    As the bully boards the dingy, Lee releases slack from the rope, watching the dingy with the bully inside drift away.
    Lee then releases the rope to the bully’s onetime victims who laugh heartily as the dingy takes on water from the crashing waves.
    Although this isn’t the most exhilarating fight scene in “Enter the Dragon,” it is clearly the most complete victory in the film.
    Lee uses wit to overcome his opponent without ever raising his fists.
    He is without fear and clear of mind.
    The bullying man wanted to fight so badly that he was willing to ride a dingy to a remote island to do so.
